I actually think Donald Pleasence had a point when he suggested Loomis have no personal life. The rest of the film portrays him as consumed by obsession. I can't see him having a family. If he was married when he met Michael in 1963, his wife would surely have left him by 1978.

Michael and Laurie being siblings was a great idea because it provides context to Michael's constant stalking of her. They should have stuck with the new story for each movie idea they had with 3. Unfortunately people's want of more Michael got in the way of that. 3 is a damn good movie.
Saw parts of Halloween 1 as a kid and it frightens me. Saw Halloween 3 afterward and that haunted me to this day with the near ending of the walking dead. Still gives me chills and I don't think I would watch 3 again.
I have an idea for a reboot... In 2002, Laurie Strode was attacked by Michael in a mental hospital. Even though she had a plan, she was still traumatized. Her injuries and fall cause her to fall into a coma. She's been dreaming of all these bizarre scenerios of the same story, different victims and children, except for that strange "mask-bug". Halloween is a cult classic. It is not without its flaws, but the atmosphere is absolutely stunning and you can feel the evil lurking in the dark. Halloween 2 started a trend which Halloween was doomed to follow for each of the next installments, except for 3. i have to agree on this one about laurie's dream theory. if you remember how Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 started it was all taking place in the hospital just like in the original michael shows up and starts to kill everyone and then, comes after laurie and just when you think he's about to get her, it turns out to be all in Laurie's head as it was nothing but a nightmare and that it never happened. so, what if, and i mean hear me out on this one, what if halloween 2 the original never happened and it was just all in a traumitized laurie strode's mind. hence why we get Halloween 2018 and why Laurie is a complete wreck. see it makes sense when you really want to get down to it.
Hey guys, Any chance of you reviewing / talking about 'Dark Harvest'? It just came out this month and it's a really fun horror movie that everyone is sleeping on. Great visuals with some really striking shots (wardrobe department killed it too), nice practical monster make up and some gory kills. 👍
The first two Halloween movies were great and gave a perfect ending to Michael Myers. Halloween 3 was great as a standalone film imo I watch it every year man..what could have been if they just kept the anthology series going every year.
Because I read Fangoria Magazine, I understood the the third Halloween movie wouldn't have Michael Meyers, and so I did enjoy it. I was hoping we would have gotten different Halloween films after that, but it would be years until we got "Trick R Treat", which was the kind of film I would have hoped we would have gotten after "Season of the Witch".
I’m not the biggest fan of the sibling dynamic, but other than that I think Halloween 2 is a solid sequel, and I enjoy it a lot more than a lot of the other sequels, including Kills and Ends.
The original Halloween trilogy. Is the best of the trilogy. Jamie Lee Curtis was wonderful in the movie. Nick Castle is the best Michael Myers. John Carpenter and Debra Hill make a great team. Carpenter said it was Debra Hill. Who got him interested in The Fog. Nancy Loomis. Who played Annie. Lived in my hometown. Until high school. Halloween 🎃 is the best. 🎥🦇
I had always heard that Carpenter was initially inspired by disturbing encounters Carpenter had had sitting in bars when random white men, thinking he would commiserate, would reveal tales of horrible racial violence they had committed as if it weren't anything. Taking that basic premise, he just changed it to random rather than targeted killings
Though it has its flaws, Halloween 2 is a great and underrated film. There is nothing wrong with the family angle. It’s just been executed terribly in many of the other movies.
I need to give halloween 3 another shot. The last time I tried to watch it was when I was around 12 years old and that was about 27-28 years ago 😂 I did not appreciate it at all because I was on a Halloween binge watching them back to back to back and rented all 5 films at blockbuster. Halloween 4 is extremely underated - would be nice if they retconned h6 and picked up 35 years after the events of H5 (Myers missing- man in black still at large) with Jamie Lloyd returning as the central character (a single mom lured back to haddonfield when she inherits the Carruthers family home).
@@travzimmerman1340Nah you tweaking Jamie could never be 1/4 as annoying as Tina, and even if she was, it wouldn't be her fault. It's the fault of the idiots behind H5
Honestly a better idea would be to make a sequel after Halloween 4 that actually DOES something with its ending, since Hollywood is so adamant of having copycat killers (ofc the og Mike would still be in it)
Its a shame halloween 3 didnt do as well as it should have. Imo its an awesome film. I think if they had taken the Halloween title from it just called it Season of the Witch it would have done much better.
When the original Halloween came out I remember everyone talking about it but I was too young to see the movie by myself. By the time I was old enough I went to see Halloween III season of the witch. I sat in the theater growing more and more angry as I realized Michael wasn’t going to be in it. I walked out about 3/4 of the way through and haven’t watched it since. Happy Halloween everyone 🎃
They shoulda just called H3 “Season of the Witch” without the Halloween title. That woulda been a good title on its own in another universe. And I get carpenter was trying to do an anthology series originally, but if that was the case the story should change every movie, not every 2 movies. I mean they did slightly change the story in H2 but it was same setting. That makes no sense to do anthology style after the first 2 movies are in the same setting. Every 2 movies a different story? That’s weird and never been done. Anthony movies are a different story every movie. I honestly think that’s a bullshit explanation and they just used the Halloween name for marketing purposes to generate more sales. “Season of the Witch” woulda been fine with no Halloween title because Halloween already is the season of the witch. It’s a different way of saying “Halloween”. So it’s another movie based on the Halloween holiday in a new universe
There’s no such thing as an original Halloween trilogy. The original Halloween movie was its own movie with its own timeline. Laurie and Michael were not related. Halloween 2 was a decision made later where they changed the timeline (which is technically the second timeline) and made Laurie and Michael related. And Halloween 3 has nothing to do with any of it. You can’t just take 3 movies from any franchise and call it a trilogy 😂. The only trilogy ever done in the Halloween franchise is the blumhouse trilogy. Trilogies are uniform. Chris Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy is a trilogy. You should have just titled this “Halloween 1-3” or something, but not the original trilogy. Because the first 3 Halloween movies are NOT a trilogy.

Halloween 4 isn't that underrated, the majority of people hold it in a decently high regard. Halloween 5 on the other hand....
@@travzimmerman1340Nah you tweaking Jamie could never be 1/4 as annoying as Tina, and even if she was, it wouldn't be her fault. It's the fault of the idiots behind H5
Honestly a better idea would be to make a sequel after Halloween 4 that actually DOES something with its ending, since Hollywood is so adamant of having copycat killers (ofc the og Mike would still be in it)
@@travzimmerman1340but you got to give it credit, it had the laundry chute scene man
I love Tina though she's very earnest.
I'm here so fucking early and I like it!
Its a shame halloween 3 didnt do as well as it should have. Imo its an awesome film. I think if they had taken the Halloween title from it just called it Season of the Witch it would have done much better.
Third part was not a bad movie, but should had have another name. With that III people expected Michael Myers again.
There's no Halloween trilogy. It's a duology. 1 and 2. Same night. Done and dusted.
I find ot funny the Peter Cushing didn't take it, Star Wars.was not a studio prpduced film,.it was an Indie film 20th Century Fox distributed.
Halloween Part 14 show be Leatherface vs. Michael Myers.
2 and 3 are, to me, the only good entries in the franchise after the original
Your PING sound triggers my misophonia and causes me to want to rage
Season Of The Witch is...meh. I like the idea of witchcraft meets the computer age, but I just don't think it was executed too well.
Why the sudden switch to a different commentator? 🤦♂️
Quartermass? No sir, it's Quatermass. The syllables are pronounced QuA-ter-mass.
At least Carpenter takes responsibility on thr bro/sis angle being awful, which it is.
Jaime Lee would have been a nightmare to work with
Its the same mask, Debra Hill stored it under her bed snd she was a chain smoker
These movies will make you pee. 😮
There is no trilogy. It's just two Michael Myers films, and a third utterly anemic attempt to CASH IN on Michael Myers...

As a true Michael Myers Halloween fan, I feel it is my duty to remind everyone that there are three, and only three, Halloween movies worth watching :
Halloween (1978)
Halloween II (1981)
Halloween H2O
All others are pure crap and do not exist in my reality.
You're not a fucking "true Michael Myers Halloween fan". "H20" - worst movie, pure crap inspired by "Scream". Nothing to do with "Halloween", should never have been done.
Halloweens 1 thru 3 are the only ones I officially recognize. The rest are bad fan-fic.
This movie flat out SUCKED. Example: Halloween 4 The Return of Michael Myers (world wide #1 at the box office)…DONE!
This the only 3 that are good. JC had a hand in all 3. Not counting his soundtrack work with his son on the new trilogy not withstanding. All of the others are just trash.
Got Christopher lee and walken mixed up and omg now I want to see walked do Donald’s lines 😂😂
How TF could you remotely get them mixed up when they LITERALLY showed Christopher Lee on screen in this video THRICE?? Young and Old pics of Christopher Lee were shown. 🙄🤦🏽♂️
Wow some of you people are scatterbrained and don't pay attention.
@@wadewilson8011 maybe because I listened to the video? Some people work and don’t sit at home all day watching 30 full minutes of a RUclips video breaking it down? Jesus Christ get a fuggin grip
