That dip as you hit boost target then oscillate back in is indicative of an over damped PID tune. Decrease the Derivative gain a bit or increase the P gain and that should go away @BoostedBoiz
My man knows electronics programming language and the interpretation of the language derivatives. Increase the p of K first if that increases the oscillation you reset back and decrease the derivative of time to amplify your error value correction.
@@RadDadisRad idk what terms they use in the FuelTech world, but a PID controller is a PID controller. The P (proportional) term is simply error multiplied by P gain. I (Integral) term is just a summation over time if error persists. This can be either multiplied by the I gain or 1/I gain. Depending on the applied algorithm. And D (Derivative) term responds to the slope of the change in measurement. So higher D values react more sharply, yet also act as a sort of shock absorber to the P term. His one log shown in this video is hard to judge without seeing the data personally. But it seems to be over damped a bit and potentially to much I term. It’s about time someone made an electronic waste gate. Not like anything involved is new tech, we’ve been doing shit like that in the industrial world since pneumatics ran everything.
It seems that the automotive industry has fallen victim to the same thing that the drone industry has where the cost of making technical parts overcomes the need for them. Good job to Turbosmart for finally finding a cost effective way to make such a simple yet affective product.
@@zfpv7211 I’m using industrial programming terms. I program robots, conveyors and other things. Sometimes I’ll chase what I call the “windshield wiper” I’ll get continuous oscillations because the sample size is too small and the error correction is too big so I over/undershoot target. So I have to inverse some values by increasing my sample rate which decreases the error correction because I’m at a higher sample rate therefore my correction factor is happening quicker and I get less rebound and don’t get under/over correction of proportional gain.
The most impressive part of the video is Kyle starting the MR2 without a jump box lol

As always. Brent your energy is contagious. Keep being you.
Those fuel tech's people seems super humble and awesome professionals in their field 👍🏼
I love how well the fuel tech guys fit in, yall are long lost brothers.
The amount of algorithms put in that fuel tech is amazing, you can see the guys looking at the data logs like at their own child
21:05 "i guess that explains why my 2step kills engines" brent thinking ahaha
Gotta do it for the thumbnails
Yeah, the pops and bangs are fun but not good for the engines. How many have they blown up because of that now?

Great job guys rubber side down
That dip as you hit boost target then oscillate back in is indicative of an over damped PID tune. Decrease the Derivative gain a bit or increase the P gain and that should go away
@BoostedBoiz
@@zfpv7211 eBOV and eWastegates are awesome. Also pwm controlled brushless fuel pumps are awesome too. Super efficient and generally small packages.

Dude the mr2 sounds so wicked now! Love the new fuel tech set up!
Love the vibe in the video! The atmosphere at the shop with all of y'all was electric!
