I actually really did like Ryan at the beginning (before getting into corporate). Then he just became kind of a totally different character and more and more flanderized as the series continued. I wonder what kind of character Ryan would have become if he followed his initial path of just a chill guy having to start a job in a confusing office with a crazy manchild boss.
You can see it that way, but I feel like Ryan already had all those desires inside of him but just didn't let them out. He just started working so was still figuring out how to get on top but deep inside he probably already wanted power girls and money
I had to really suspend disbelief that despite the mountain of embarrassment it would dump on him (in addition to the already existing humiliation of what happened with his arrest and termination) to go back to temp after his rise to VP at the very same branch he made so many enemies in when he could have had a completely fresh start literally *anywhere* else.
Nah, he's a psychopath. It's just that people don't really know how to recognize one properly. All the traits are there, no empathy, no real connection to anyone, a destroyer, power driven... and isn't as good as he tries to sell he is.
