With this "Type balancing" I could see them making Xerneas a Grass type simply because it makes sense, and then it would make the two box arts evenly matched. But yeah, I agree. I don't see it happening.

My guess on ZA starters are Snivy, Litten, and Totodile. In SV we've have mightiest mark raids for every starter final form except Feraligatr, Torterra, Infernape, Serperior, and Incineroar. 2 of those are both from Sinnoh, and PLA is in Hisui, which is Sinnoh of the past, so those won't be reused. My guess is Torterra and Infernape will be the last SV 7 star raids we get. Going even further, the PLA starters were from Johto, Unova, and Alola. Snivy, Litten, and Totodile are from the same 3 regions.
I think za is either going to fill out the other mons they didn’t pick in arceus so for example snivy totodile and poplio so it’s easier instead of deciding which starters to pick and it builds hype for next game because it would be less about what starters are chosen and what their new forms look like
something to keep in mind is that shiny pokemon used to feel more special. if everybody has easy odds to get them they sort of lose that "specialness", at least to me.

@TheDarkOne1920 Types will lose moves. That will be how it works because a lot of moves are Sound based. Game Freak did this with some moves like Charm. It was once a Normal move. That's off the top of my head. Snarl would go from Dark to Sound Disarming Voice, from Fairy to Sound Boomburts now Sound Screech now Sound Growl now Sound Howl now Sound Round now Sound Sing now Sound Torch Song could become Sound Again, those moves off thr top of my head. Any move defined as "Sound Based" could have their type changed to Sound, yes Game Freak will just create more, if they can, but there is a high chance many current "Sound based moves" will be swapped from their current typings to Sound as well. Normal would be the most affected type, losing around half of its movepool, that's not to mention some mons may lose access to some moves in the change up, reducing their value in VGC.

The same happened with gen 6 with the Fairy type, so it's not like this hasen't happened before. And if they do add a new type to PLZA it will be a perfect start for the type assuming the game will not have online battles, they can just focus on balancing types and moves on the new Legends game and the when gen 10 comes, all that work will be pretty much done, they will just have to add more moves to the game. I also believe that taking away all of those normal type moves it will be a good thing, because game freak will be obligated to create new normal type moves giving the normal type more potential for better moves in the future. Not saying, they will add a new type now, but it will defenetly happen in the future, if the want the games to remain fresh and to still have more games on the future, this will be an inevitable change that will happen again just like it did with fairy. Legends Z-A won't be at worlds because worlds show case stuff that is going to be in competitive battles. And it won't be at Gamescom because GF is not going to be there. They were never going to do something for Johto since they don't care about the anniversary for it. They celebrate the anniversary of the franchise itself. Not individual pokemon regions. Rumor is fake. They not porting Emerald, Crystal or any classic games. Noise type seals the deal since that just dumb.
