Cool German helmets, I have a camo M16, a battle damaged M35, 2 Finnish M40/55s, and an East German M56 size 3 made in 1969, mine came with a rain hood.
I really like your new format,it shows off your helmets clearly. You chose a wonderful selection also. Your Quist is outstanding and it is nice to see the free strap from the tornister again. Thanks also for showing your CKL M42 as they are my favourite helmets because of their casting flaws. I always look forward to your videos and will continue to do so.
For some reason RUclips isn't very good at delivering notifications so I only saw it now. Good on ya for learning a new language. In German it'd be "fantastische Sammlung" Luis
@@PotatoDigger it's true. I have helmets with an interesting history and battle wounds. More than 100 helmets. I have been collecting helmets for a long time and I have a lot of them.
Where can I find out about a helmet my father brought back from Europe. I was told by him that it’s a Navy helmet he got from the coast of France in late June 1944
There are some good websites you can use but you can also just send me some photos of it via email. venividiviolini @ gmail.com Certainly sounds very interesting.
I just have 3 almost complet with rusty paint, decal, liner but not all with chinstrap and leather liner,my favorite have bullet holes in and out (all found inside a old 60s truck inside a 'cars trash' long ago like Stand by me..with one big munition). But I prefer Rogatywka,ww1, hussar helmet and sabers. I will just have a luft one like Hogan's heroes.
Sorry for the late reply, youtube is kind of being annoying with how it displays notifications for comments so I didn't see yours as it was posted. Those helmets sound pretty interesting I'm sure they display well! WWI items and other military equipment from the olden days are certainly also pretty interesting, it was more by chance that I became that focused on mainly WWII German helmets. Luis
Yup that is correct. Some were done at a depot level in the field, just painted over, and some at factory level, stripped of old paint and with a fresh liner and split pins.

Nice helmets first helmet though, i am pretty sure that leather is a replica liner just looking at the condition, ect also, the leather isn't ever marked except for size while the liner band is marked, it can only be read if you take the liner out and noone in the right mind would dare to take out an original liner out of an original helmet after so many years chance of breaking one of the pins is so high..
Sorry I just saw your reply because YT's notification system is messed up. The liner is definitely original there is no doubt on that, I know a lot about liners and noone so far ever doubted it either. You can make out the markings when you hold it by the chinstrap bale and pull on it gently. The leather is indeed marked on the inside, always, usually with a letter and month and year of production as well as size. And as long as you have handled a few helmets you will know how much you can pull on a liner without risking to damage the pins. Luis
Interesting, it just looks so clean compared to the shell which threw me off. But nice helmet regardless, as of now I only own an original beaded M35, with dual police decals and full liner. but I will be selling it as I am moving on to collecting firearms
@@JustaGuy1250 Yeah it's proably the lighting, others said that too but that's just because it was an attic find and it probably sat the right way up the whole time which is why the shell looks different but it has some nice rust on the split pins and there was a lot of spider and moth gunk in it when I got it so they clearly haven't been tampered with. Nice M35, would like to see it, those beaded DD Polizei decals are pretty interesting. Luis
@@PotatoDigger well, i have some pictures on this post here: live.warthunder.com/post/928338/en/ Not quite sure about the liner, cant figure out wether it is a ww2 feuerwehr liner or a post-war made one..

Beautifull helmets, I have also Quist helmet but DN523 which is only 1 hire then your.
Great video and thank you
A first rate collection. Thank you for sharing.
Something about German Shells just screams history and collectables.. Very nice collection
some very nice examples!
especially the No Decal ones, they are becoming really hard to find as many people put fake decals on them!
hold on to those!
beautiful helmets. they look better than the ones I get from the ground
Thank you! Well, I think the relics your get out of the ground in the East are definitely very interesting and often surprisingly well preserved.

Very Nice Helmet Collection indeed. 💟😎
The Germans also refinished helmets and reissued them during the war.
