  • Sandokan: Pirate Of Malaysia - Full Movie by Film&Clips
The Pirates of Malaysia (also known as "The Pirates of the Seven Seas") is a 1964 swashbuckler directed by Umberto Lenzi.
Shot on location in Singapore, The Pirates of Malaysia is the story of a Malaysian rebel, Sandokan, who, with his group of renegades, tries to thwart an evil British general from forcing the good Sultan Hassim to resign in favor of the Imperial crown.
The cruel Lord James Guillonk, faithful of Queen Victoria, is the governor of the territories of Borneo and Malaysia. His archenemy is the Indian pirate Sandokan, who along with his "tigers" delivers continuous attacks against British armies.
This time, Sandokan collides again with the governor, because Guillonk is moving hunt against Tremal-Naik, a Hindu escaped by controls of English policy, who is in search of his lost love. Indeed Tremal-Naik talks to Sandokan of a secret Hindù sect that worships the bloody goddess Kali. These fanatics are the thugs. This sect has in fact kidnapped his beloved, and so Sandokan is preparing for the new battle against Guillonk, who has just kidnapped the love with Tremal-Naik, mysteriously escaped from the dungeons of thugs.

This movie has all it all, the handsome hero, out to save the beautiful damsel in distress. Using his big muscles, like the Robin Hood ,of the high seas. He with his rag tag crew, against incredible odds, save the world. Its not so much a low budget. Watching this old classic requires a creative mind. The sword fights and fist fights reassemble a well rehearsed, "i go this way, you go that way, then down! The falling manikin drives it home. Entertaining, family oriented; an old classic where the story line is whats important.

The author of the book never been in malaysia and even malaysia country didnt exist yet when this happen. Its a non formal name refer to the region that where malaysia now. The author of the book maybe hear the story of that malaysian hero against european colonial from soldier and sailor that went to malaysia. Its actually refer to Sandakan Hero named as Sindukung who fight the british to protect his anchestor legacies upon bird nest bussines in Gomantong Cave and nearby cave. I am the 6-7th generation of the mighty Sindukung. Proud of him

Mereka berperang atas dasar agama bukan bangsa.

More like a romantic stageplay from the days way earlier (20's-40''s in my apparently wrong view) that was filmed. Another shock: the racist attitude from the 'civilised' Western filmmakers/peole these days!
The big final scene, where Mr Bad-in-this-movie Burke gets it, (from 1.45:05) is classic!

46:12 Looks as though that beast is missing an eye.
1:18:00 ... Idk how people would have survived slaving in conditions like that. I work with bulk rock salt and I know first hand that in under a wk any exposed skin that's constantly in contact with the salt will start to dry to the point that it cracks, on the hands the cracks follow in line with your natural folds and crevices etc, and shortly after they start splitting wide open. Without protection, and preferably a means to remoisturize, continual exposure would leave your hands in such a state that you literally couldn't use them due to complications (including the discomfort/pain & infections etc). Also the fine salt dust dries the inside of your nose out quite quickly. Bloody nose would be common within a few days. I can only imagine the effects had on other moist sensitive areas (eyes, lips, eventually lungs etc and with lips cracked and split one would lose strength through a inability to eat properly). I really couldnt see anyone lasting 1 month in conditions like these. Even 2 wks would be pushing it imo. There may be something to be said for conditioning, your skin would become used to it and toughen up over time, but one would need the ability to heal during the process and the time to do so wouldn't be had in this environment. Perhaps they had the use of fats etc (grease drippings) to help moisturize their skin, after all the owners of the mines would want to allow for a certain amount of protection if they wanted the men (ie. their investment) to last longer than a few wks. Anyhow it would have been a tough and horrible way to exist. I guess I shouldnt say 'would have been' as I'm sure such places and conditions still exist today.

HE is playing an Indian dude!! Sandokan is an Indian pirate.......there were plenty in the days before and leading upto the times of colonization. Most of the Malay peninsula and the south-east asia were cultural/economic colonies of the Hindus in antiquity. Well before the so-called 'mighty' chinese navy supposedly circumnavigated the world. Those seas were navigated by Indian merchants as well as pirates well before 200 AD and after. Don't you see the Hindu influence in South east Asia's architecture, religion, customs and broader culture??
All the names of places such as Java, Sumatra, Malaya, Srivijaya are Sanskrit words. Even as far as Borneo, its present capital is just a corruption of the Sanskrit title ' Shri Bhagwan Bandar' meaning the sea-port of the Lord. It is now called 'Bandaro Seri Bagwan'.
