Your music reflects the tone of each game: -The first game had pheonix deal with important criminals he was not prepared for and the music reflected that as it was intimidating and imposing. - Justice for All tended to have less important, but more diabolical criminals, and the music sounded more sombre and menacing. (except in the objection and pursuit songs) -In trials and tribulations pheonix is more expirienced and is able to be more aggressive in court, and the music sounds more aggresive (just listen to the 'announce the truth' theme.) -In Apollo Justice, Apollo was unravelling more complex cases, and using techniques other than just presenting evidence as normal, thus the music is more epic to show that Apollo is banking everything on tricks that, if they fail, will ruin his case. Ironic that Trucy is a magician, eh? - as for dual destinies... I haven't played it.
Azathoth Dual Destinies basically revolves around the premise that Phoenix’s disbarment, along with another event that’s spoilers, created a legal apocalypse where people give even less of a shit about court than they did before the time skip. Throughout the game, you’re basically trying to undo all the shit that’s taken place over the last 7 years, and the criminals basically always have the upper hand.
Dual Destinies theme kind of echoes trough the first parts. Like, you hear a set of notes loudly, then they repeat silenced. Like Apollo and Athena, learning from Phoenix, following his path. And kinda like Phoenix learned from Mia, picking up where she left off
3:00 That AMAZING transition that isn't just overlaying the song sealed it -- I'm subscribing to you. This is the single best remix/mashup of any Ace Attorney music that I have ever heard.
I really love the Justice For All and Dual Destinies bits and the transition from T&T to AJ. There's such a sharp difference in the feel of those two tracks proper I was wondering how it'd go. It slowed down. Took a deep breath. Then it put a bracelet on and started looking for tells.
I just have to say whoa. You just actually blew my mind off. It feels like I just played all the games through in one sitting. You did really good job on capturing each theme's own unique feeling. I especially loved the Dual Destinies one! I'm a huge fan of Phoenix Wright series and have always searched something like this mix. Didn't quite just know that myself, but after hearing this, I know now. Great work man!
It wouldn't be Ahlbi, since the art uses every second witness from every first case of the main series. Ace Attorney: Larry Butz, FRANK SAHWIT Justice for All: Dick Gumshoe, RICHARD WELLINGTON Trials and Tribulations: Phoenix Wright, DAHLIA HAWTHORNE Apollo Justice: Phoenix Wright, OLGA ORLY, Kristoph Gavin Dual Destinies: Juniper Woods, TED TONATE Spirit of Justice: Ahlbi Ur'gaid, PEES'LUBN ANDISTAN'DHIN
There's a quality that your remixes always have of being equivalent in feeling to the original pieces. Because I don't know jack about music theory, it's ineffable to me why this is (though perhaps since you are the only one I know of who achieves it to this degree, it may well be something fairly arcane). The result in this piece is that this complements the activity of careful thought very well; in other words, I could see myself studying or reading to this. It's also not a very dynamic piece, but none of the source material is either. For this piece to be, uh, "dynamized" would be to miss the point of the remix. One specific thing you did that I especially appreciated was that you used the SFX extraordinarily gracefully; sometimes people get very ham handed with that and it grates on my nerves enough to elicit a real, physical discomfiture. Not sure if that's just me.
+TheCowDestroyer1 Wow thanks! I really appreciate your feedback! Yeah, there really was not a lot to work with in relation to the original themes. Most of the new stuff in this mix is just changed-up rhythms, chord progressions and accompaniments. It's great you enjoyed the SFX, I enjoyed putting them in. There's actually story to it: Phoenix and co. are playing the music and the prosecutors want it to stop. The prosecutors eventually win, which is why the last interjection in Blackquill's 'SILENCE!'. See, I thought this through. XD
I'll probably have separate remixes for the AAI themes, and as for SoJ's, it'll either be a separate remix as well, or if I ever get around to doing a second version of this megamix then it'll be part of that.
LOrbSheddy, I've heard many people's remixes of Objections, Pursuits and Cross-Examinations, but you seriously take the cake.
