@@hihowyadoinoh-imdyinginsid2598 are you referring to me? I mean, it’s incorrect, but I also don’t know why you’d think that I’m 10. Nothing I said really implies that I’m 10. But, you’re free to have an opinion about what age I am.
Moderato: The framework is set, the music is relatively calm and makes you think Allegro: The framework is put to use, the music is intense and the gears are turning in your head Presto: The framework is on fire, Edgeworth has a saxophone

1:40 As I recall, Neil and I were questioning him that day. To make a long story short, we slipped up. That power outage didn't help either. When I went to my office, I found Lana there. Apparently she had already… "arranged" the crime scene. As you can see, I had nothing to do with the "forgery". 5:10 Yes, now I remember, I took that request by mail. There have been times when I took a job without having met my client. The request was for the murder of Juan Corrida and 2 or 3 other small things. When I saw the name at the end of the letter, I thought my client to be a man. 8:40 ...Just before it happened, I think I saw some red lights. Three of them. I thought I'd ask for help, but... just then I was splattered with blood! She wasn't dead though... And she struck back at the enemy behind her. The organ during moderato 2004 is what makes it for me. It's why I don't really like the allegro, takes away the best part. (I know the sound is still there, it's just not as dramatic)
Evolution of nervous habits: -Twitching finger -Rolling a ring with your thumb -Gulping -Moving eyes -Sweating from armpit that can somehow disappear & reappear (hardest to find out IMO) -Biting nails (it counts, despite the fact that you never actually perceive the truth from that) -Isn’t that physically impossible? Then again, this is the franchise that has spirit channeling involved.

I don't think these songs are necessarily better than each other; all of these tracks sound distinct and serve the convey the unique theme of each game
of course, but naturally some will always sound better than others, its almost impossible to make 2 completely different themes that are equally as good (and I mean perfectly equally, not close)
@@Trep3 Yeah but then that's entirely personal preference, I might not think the same ones sound better than others as you think they are. They all do their JOB (conveying themes of their games, well
2002 moderato is WAY underrated. It's giving you such a mysterious vibe that URGES you to find out everything about the situation. It's just... Beautiful. Simple, yet beautiful.
Exactly. I've seen people call it "boring," but I think they've got 2001 stuck in their heads. 2002 has an odd time signature, and the notes themselves take one on a journey of mystery with a driving bass that hammers home the situation as it presents itself.
I bet the Cross Examination themes are some of the hardest tracks to compose in each Ace Attorney game. The melody has to be balanced just right so that it doesn't tell too much of a story in itself, but also doesn't get stale after hearing it countless times - and it must capture the atmosphere and intensity of each game. Even more impressive that they've nailed it each and every time.
I'd argue that Justice for All kinda misses. Not that its bad per say... its more of an aquired taste. But an aquired taste can never be as good as something that instantly hits.
2001: I will uncover the truth! 2002: I have to find the truth... 2004: The truth will & must be revealed! 2007: Beware of the truth...it's not pretty. 2009/2011: Edgeworth being Edgeworth 2013: I've (Phoenix) returned to uncover the truth! 2015: Sit down be humbled. 2016: The truth...is this really the truth?
dai gyakuten saiban probably has my favorite cross examination themes out of the games ive played so far (trilogy, apollo justice, and dgs). i love the allegro theme so much. i love when allegro plays for all of the games in general because it makes me feel like im so close to finding the culprit of the crime
I feel like people don't give JFA enough credit but especially for it's cross examination music, the moderato is perfect for a mystery and critical thinking whereas the allegro is perfect for the high tension and the pursuit of the truth as the witnesses cover it up with their selfishly crafted lies. So good man
@im not dead i just don't do stuff I agree. In fact, I think the odd time signature is what helps increase the tension, because we're used to the standard 4/4. This is why Hollow Bastion, the Black Fang theme, and the OoT Ganondorf battle theme make you feel incredibly tense.
JFA is the worst game in the series, easily. 2-1 is dumb af, and 2-3 (the goddamn Turnabout Big Top) is, hands-down, the worst case of the entire series. Fuuuuuu. The music in that JFA is abnormally dark though, and pretty awesome.
@@moejuggler6033 i didnt mind the first case of jfa, its a first case after all. I think jfa might have felt worse because theres only 4 cases, so to me at least 2-3 being so bad stood out a little more because instead of having 4 other good cases there was only 3(arguably 2) other good cases. I still hate 2-3 with a passion
Thank you for uploading this! I'm a Japanese man and hearing it in japan. Japanese also be looking forward to other videos!! (I worry about my English...)
Hallo ich bin aus Deutschland. nice.unsere Übersetzung ist die schlechteste, Klavier heißt da Kantilen :x Deswegen spiele ich das Spiel nur auf Englisch
I don’t know if this is a hot take or not, but cross examination themes are probably the most consistently good themes throughout the entire series. Not to mention, Presto 2011 is my favorite song in all of ace attorney
Cross-Examination Themes in a nutshell Moderato: "Oh that one is easy, just present the obvious evidence" Allegro: "Oh my, better press These Statements and hope they have a slip of tounge." Presto: "ALL RIGHT GOT YA NOW... I think…"
It would make sense for it to seem calmer on the surface, as Phoenix is no longer a rookie, but the odd time signature keeps the anxiety up because the stakes are not any lower than they were in the first game - guilty = death.
Moderato 2002 is still my favorite. It's simple, calm, yet effective and somehow tense. Presto 2011 and both themes from 2015 and 2016 are pretty good too, as is Mob 2012 Allegro. Can't forget T&T's themes, either.
0:01 Simple, but still effective 1:40 Oh yeah, this witness is getting EXPOSED! 3:25 Kinda relaxing, would fit in a hotel lobby 5:10 More "regal", the second theme feels a little darker and more serious 6:55 Brings back the puzzling feeling of 2001 and anticipates a little the driving energy of the Allegro 8:40 Really like the resolution of the second theme to the first 10:25 Slightly darker than the others, it feels like that, by uncovering the truth, you're entering danger territory 12:10 The dread is gone, you must pursue the truth no matter what! (Also reminds me a bit of 2002) 13:55 Introduces well the change of musical style, and gives the feeling of: "Alright, let's get down to the everyday business" 15:40 A bit more moving than the Moderato, but not too much. Kinda catchy 17:25 WOAH! This is not a Cross-examination, it's a full on Pursuit! Can we get a Presto in all of the other games?! 19:10 Really classy, determined and well-meaning: it suits Edgeworth very well 20:55 More puzzling than the Moderato, but still very determined! 22:40 Do we need a pursuit theme after this one? This piece is so fiery, you won't have any remains of the opponent to face later 24:25 I really don't like this game, but I appreciate the British feeling given to 2001 26:10 Almost too relaxed for an Allegro, but it might be because of Investigations 27:55 Puzzling, but a bit too distracting 29:40 Is Labyrinthia French?! 31:25 Blackquill is the best 33:10 I. LOVE. THIS! 34:55 Kinda bouncy, like it a lot 36:40 Doesn't feel too different from the Moder- I TAKE THAT BACK!
I think the repetitiveness of SoJ's CE themes works in their favor. I didn't like how other themes had either too much variation or disconnected series of notes (like in DD) because I think they are distracting.
The Apollo Justice Cross-Examinations are probably my favourites for some reason... It just seems like Apollo'll see every lie you tell, leaving you with no way out except to tell the truth.
Teacher: "If Billy has 10 apples and gives Gina 3, how many does Billy have?" *cue music* 34:55 Billy: "Gina asked for 3 apples, so I gave them away." Gina: "Well, then I guess he has 7 then?" Student 1: "Billy has 7, as the scenario says he gave away 3." Student 2: "Objection! (slams fist on the desk) There's no evidence to prove that Billy actually gave Gina the apples, and they are not currently in her possession as we speak. Billy, your testimony... has a glaring contradiction!" Teacher: "Do you have any evidence to back up your claim?" Student 2: Hm... In order to prove my claim, I need evidence. What piece of evidence can I use here? (looks at evidence) TAKE THAT! Teacher: "But that's..." Student 2: "That's right. Red apple skin stuck between his teeth and apple juice stains on his shirt. All evidence points towards the fact that, all this time, Billy had all 10 apples!" Student 1: "Objection! (slams foot on table) "The defense ought to pay more attention to his words." Student 2: "Huh?" Student 1: "You said that he had all 10 apples, but there is juice and apple skin around his mouth. Does that not mean that he... already ate the other 3 apples? This means that he now has 7 apples in his possession. In essence, the answer to the problem has not changed, foolish student." Student 2: "B-but-! GAH!! (falls out of chair) *class clamoring*
I discovered the Ace Attorney franchise almost 2 years ago. Been a huge fan ever since and incredibly hyped for the new trilogy to come out at the end of this month. The music in these games is absolutely fantastic. Thank you for uploading this compilation.
I don't see them get much love, but Dual Destines and Spirit of Justice cross examinations are probably my favorite in the series. The Allegro for both of them is *chef's kiss*
It's not often I say this - from what I've heard on RUclips videos I'm not a fan of Dai Gyakuten Saiban's soundtrack - but DGS has by far the best cross-examination themes. Absolutely brilliant.
About to head off to one of the most important exams in my life, and I know that as soon as things start going my way, 1:40 will kick in my mind and let me steamroll everything. Such a good "hype" tune!
MAIN SERIES SPOILERS - Hearing the Time - Actually, I didn't "hear" the time… I "saw" it! There was a table clock in the apartment, wasn't there! Yeah, the murder weapon! The killer used it to hit the victim! That must have been what I saw. - The Wiretapping - It was the beginning of September… the week before the murder. I had entered the Fey & Co. Law Offices. Of course, I had done so to place the wiretap. That is when I saw this glass light stand. - After Finding the Body - I was with Sal and Oldbag, the security lady, when we found the body. The assistant was there, too. Only Powers was absent. I immediately called the police. Then Powers showed up. The security lady, Oldbag, was quite agitated. Pointing at Powers, saying "He did it!". I asked to be left out of the proceedings. I went back to the trailer to get my script and direction notes. Then I went home. - The DL-6 Incident - That day, I had gone to the courtroom to observe one of my father's trials. As we went to leave, an earthquake struck, trapping us in the elevator. My father and Mr. Yogi lost their composure, and began to argue. Just then, something heavy fell at my feet. I picked it up, and threw it at Mr. Yogi. I wanted them to stop fighting. A moment later, there was a single gunshot, and then a scream. It was a terrible scream. I remember it to this day. - What Happened Next - The girl on the upper path ran away as soon as she realized I was there. After that, I immediately called the police station to report the crime. It must've been 6:45 PM when I made the call. They must have a lot of free time on their hands since they showed up within 10 minutes. - I Wouldn't Be Allowed - Like, around that time, I was, like, really close to getting my license. My sis was, like, this totally big fan of cars and, like, really valued them. She, like, had just gotten this really shiny, bright red sports car. She, like, would say things like, "No way am I letting a newb drive my car!" So, like, that's why I ended up in the passenger's seat that night too. - About the Ringmaster - When we were little, we were abandoned by our parents. That's when the Ringmaster of the Berry Big Circus, Russell Berry, took us in. I became an acrobat at around nine years old. I wanted to find a way to repay the Ringmaster. That was my sole purpose in life... - Request Taking, Pt. 2 - Yes, now I remember, I took that request by mail. There have been times when I took a job without having met my client. The request was for the murder of Juan Corrida and 2 or 3 other small things. When I saw the name at the end of the letter, I thought my client to be a man. - Actual Crime Scene - When I arrived, I found Mr. Marshall's body impaled on that suit of armor's sword. Ema and Darke were lying unconscious on the floor nearby. When I saw what happened, I thought she… did it. That's why I erased all the evidence that linked her to the murder. I had Chief Gant help me remove the body from the sword and carry it… But if it was all really was a fabrication, Ema might be innocent! - The Poisoning - I met the lawyer who was poisoned to discuss something in the cafeteria that day. I left my seat for just a moment, and that's when it happened! From what I heard, it was a liquid poison that is lethal at just 2 teaspoons. Not only that, I heard it was a very special kind of poison. So you see, I'm innocent! I wouldn't even know where to get a poison like that! -The Last Testimony - Indeed, it is true that I was not at Lordly Tailor. I had to leave to see about another vitally important job request. I had known about the date beforehand, so I had this photograph readied. My brilliant deduction was what informed me that the true culprit was Ron DeLite. And thanks to the Key Card and Wallet, it was abundantly clear that he was there. I was also able to make a deduction from the buzzer, which only sounded once. The button did not have any fingerprints on it... Why? The victim would have left prints if he sounded it. Which means the killer sounded it. Mr. DeLite was wearing his Mask☆DeMasque outfit, which is why he left no prints. And, the blackmail letter? The victim likely just mistook the color of the jewel. Zvarri! Therefore, all the evidence points to that poor boy! - Ties to the Victim - Yeah, I loaned Elg cash. About 100,000 dollars. That day, we was due to have a little chat. The kid had hit his payback date, see? So anyway, he tells me he's got no way to pay up. I'm about to flatten the guy, when he starts screamin'. "Yesss! I won! Half a million bucks!" He got lucky, you' know. Real lucky. If that waitress hadn't done what she done, everythin' woulda been over. - Who Terry Fawles Saw - That day... 4 PM... I stopped the car. I was in front of bridge... She wasn't there... So, I waited on bridge. I watched my car from bridge. I never put no body in that car! Finally, one woman came. She stood front of me. We talked... Then she left. That was... That was Valerie. Not my Dahlia! - The Time of the Murder - ...Just before it happened, I think I saw some red lights. Three of them. I thought I'd ask for help, but... just then I was splattered with blood! She wasn't dead though... And she struck back at the enemy behind her. Suddenly, the red lights went out and the whole area was dark. ...Just at that moment, there was a horrible scream! Right after that... Dahlia collapsed and I lost consciousness. - That Fateful Night - The rage I sensed in that man that night troubled me... So I returned to the club. I went down to the basement and peeked in through the little window to the Hydeout. It must have been right after the murder took place. The victim was dead, as he appears in the photo. A bald head, an unconscious girl... and Wright, holding a bottle in his hand. I sensed that was not the best for me to be at the time and so I left. That's when the call came from Wright. - Tiala's Explanation - That night, I went to ask Dr. Meraktis for the chart. I had no intention of ever letting that chart fall into the Kitaki Family's hands. But Dr. Meraktis didn't understand... For some reason, he thought the Kitakis had sent me! So I gave up and went home... All I did was talk to him! - Cocoon Smuggling - International Affairs got a memo about these cocoons. Interpol's all hot and bothered about 'em. Can't sell 'em on the black market. Too dangerous. Yeah, cocoon smuggling ain't exactly lucrative anymore. Man, I'm in International Affairs! I know the deal! - Poisoning Vera - Owning the same nail polish does not a murderer make. I have been in solitary confinement for half a year. How could I poison her? Her father died of the same poison... the meaning of which should be clear. The prosecution's case holds. She poisoned her father, then attempted to poison herself. Surely, you aren't going to suggest I was responsible for poisoning her father, too? - The Truth - IT IS TRUE THAT DETECTIVE ARME WROTE MY ID NUMBER. SHE VERY PLAINLY WROTE "L10015R." I WAS SHOCKED. BUT I DID NOT DETONATE THE BOMB. DETECTIVE ARME MUST HAVE MISTAKEN ME FOR THE REAL BOMBER. NOT WANTING TO BE ACCUSED, I MOVED THE BODY AND COVERED THE WRITING. MY BAD. - The Amazing Nine-Tails's True Identity - The Amazing Nine-Tails's TRUE identity is NOT Mayor Tenma. The mayor would NEVER admit to such UTTER nonsense. But if he DID admit to such nonsense... ...I will EXPOSE the TRUTH behind Tenma Taro right here and now... ...and THAT would bring RUIN upon Nine-Tails Vale, just as the superstitions say. - The Dissin' of Phoenix Wright - YO! WALKIE-TALKIE BE BROKE 4 REAL! MR. LAWYER'S FREESTYLE GOT NO APPEAL! BROKE B4 DEPLUME ON THE SCENE! BROKE BEFORE WRIGHT COULD EVA DREAM! LEGIT GOOFED DURING CLEAMING TIME AYE. BUT BILGE-SUCKING LAWYER SPITTIN' LIES! DAT ORCA YO DON'T LISTEN TO ME, KAY? KILL THE CAPT? YO YOU SO CRAY-CRAY! - Prof. Means's Work of Art - Now, pay attention! Robin took over half a day to complete one statue. I, however, finished most of the other statue between 7:00 and 8:30 PM. The defendant Juniper saw the two statues with her own eyes at 8:30 PM. Completing a statue so quickly meant I could not leave the stage for a single second! How could I have possibly had the time to go to the art room and commit murder?! - What I Really Witnessed - I had no choice but to disengage the safety lock. I feared there might be more explosions... ...so I had to cut the launch pad lose. Surely, the only escape the killer had was through Launch Pad 1. But that area was a sea of smoke... Confound it! Where on Earth could they have gone?! - My Fear of the Moon Rock - I felt fear when I thought of the moon rock because it reminded me of the phantom. Yes, I'm very afraid of him because he took my family hostage. What reason would the phantom have to be afraid of the moon rock?! None at all! So the very fact that I'm afraid of the moon rock means I'm not him! In fact, I'm on the side of... JUSTICE!
INVESTIGATIONS SPOILERS - Portsman's Alibi, Pt. 2 - That thief you ran into should be your real suspect, wouldn't you say? We should be out there looking for that thief right now. They might still be nearby. I hate to repeat myself, but as I've already said, I was training in my room. And when Jim came to deliver some evidence to me, I was down at Criminal Affairs. So I can't be expected to know what happened around here after I left. -Reason for Suspicion- Look, I know you're suspecting me 'cause I'm one of the crew. But you'd think then maybe you should suspect Ms. Rhoda, too. She's the one in charge of the elevator keycard and the shop, you know. If you ask me, that makes her super-suspicious. - Decisive Evidence - Make no mistake. There are fingerprints on that murderous gun. And they proved that it was Lolli who killed Oliver. But Oliver was also after Lolli's life. So Mr. Edgeworth, even you must see that Lolli was only acting in self-defense. - Why It Couldn't Be Me - Accusing someone of murder over a spilled bottle of perfume is a bit over the top. But I suppose forgery of evidence is to be expected of a disciple of Von Karma. In any case, it simple could not have been me who killed Mr. Faraday. After all, I don't even know where the knife that was used to kill him came from. - The Steel Samurai's Show - I watched from the back row. The stage was well-lit, but it was dark out in the audience. I swear I was there in the audience, but it's hard to prove that, I suppose. I do remember the contents of the show very well, though. Is that proof enough for you? Those moving scenes were seared into this old man's heart. I'll never forget them. - Knightley's Logic, Pt. 2 - So the gun happens to be the same model as mine. Pure coincidence... But, take a closer look. Only one of them has a laser pointer attached to it. Check the number of bullets left in the chamber. Only two shots fired, see? There's no evidence that I switched the guns, right? - My Story, Pt. 2 - I wouldn't go so far as to call it an interrogation. I always make sure to talk to all the new arrivals. Mr. Knightley... Yes, we had a little chat. After our talk, he went right back to his cell, I assure you. - Why You Can't Arrest Me - It has been 18 years since I murdered Dover. The statute of limitations for murder in this country is 15 years, is it not? In other words, it's impossible for you to arrest me! I only confessed my crime because the statute of limitations had expired! - Regarding Jill Crane - The victim, Jill Crane, was a member of the Prosecutorial Investigation Committee, y'see. Personally, I didn't really know her that well, y'know. Either way, it's not like I had a motive to murder her, y'know. I have no idea why she was pursuing me, y'see. - The Murder of the Double - Manipulating humans into fighting with each other. Sounds just like me, right? I did the same thing to Knightley and Blaise. At any rate, there's no way the body double could've gone for a ride in my balloon. The double was crushed by the monster's head, right? And who was it that caused the monster's head to fall?
DGS 1 & 2 SPOILERS! ~ The Victim's "Death" ~ Unfortunately, I don't know when he has burned himself. I had enjoyed my beefsteak, and shared a toast with the professor, remember? I had heard from the results of that autopsy report that it was unthinkable for the cause of death to be anything other than being shot by a gun. If there is a "means" of robbing a life without a leaving so much as a single "trace".... Show it to me. Oh... But surely it would be impossible for your immature Empire's investigators to produce any new "evidence". ~ Opposition to the Defense's Accusations ~ There were only two of us on the roof seats... It's true! If an incident happened in a place like that, there's no way it wouldn't go unnoticed for long! I don't know the victim in the first damn place! There's no way I would! The skylight was always shut! We never opened it!! If the victim was dropped from the skylight as you say, then I demand to see evidence! ~ Battle of the Garridebs ~ On that day.. .Well, I must say I've forgotten the reason, but I had a fight with my wife. A candlestand was knocked over and the candle lit the fire... In a panic, I extinguished the fire, and opened the window. I, on the other hand, aimed my sights at this man and tossed whatever I could get my hands on. There are many knives in our flat. Even if one was lost, we wouldn't be aware of it. If you say this knife belongs to us... Then I'd like for you to show me some evidence! ~ The Witnessed Moment of the Crime ~ I was present around the shop entrance while they were in the midst of a dispute with the owner. When the owner went off at Nemmy, a stray bullet ran past my arm! I went after the the owner, and the moment I looked through the window of that door. The defendant donned in a black coat shot the fleeing owner from the back! I clearly saw the blood of the owner spurting out from his back and onto the coat of the defendant. Once the defendant had discarded her gun through the window... she picked it up and ran. - ~ Basis For Absolute Innocence ~ So yes. Mamemomi stabbed the British Lady. And that fact is proof of my innocence! If she had drank the poison, then she wouldn't need to be stabbed on top of that! It was enraging... when I heard the argument between the female student and the British lady. Since the Briton couldn't be made accountable for her crime, then someone had to pass judgement unto her! ~ The Letter of Contradictions ~ If I recall correctly... this letter came to me, little ol' Petenshy a week ago. I waited for an hour that day in PepperStop, realized I was stood up, and then headed home. When that Japanese man came to visit upon me that night... I recall that the letter had disappeared. I don't know anything about that. Why are you saying I infiltrated into his flat, and for what? He's the evil man you want. Like I know or care about all this talk of a letter and its' envelope. ~ Accomplice to Murder ~ It all began with the message I saw on the wax figure at the scene of the crime. Just as the message said, the real body had fallen to the ground below the stage. The one who tampered with the corpse for the purpose of framing the defendant... was me. I made every member of the Scientific Investigation Unit assist with the cover-up at the crime scene. The true story behind the execution ten years ago was classified information... I had to keep it secret. ~ The Inspector with the ID -- (2) ~ At the least of all leasts, this man was not the one who made a fuss about being an Inspector. That's right! Just one look at those lips and I'd never forget them! I's not one to leave Fresno Street. And a "Red-Headed League"? Not my thing. Also, I got no family anyways, and it's way too far from home. I got no reason to do it. But the biggest and bestest part? I can't hide this primo mug of mine to go on "disguise"! ~ The Asougi Files ~ As the Chief Guard in charge of death row convicts, I watched over him and took care of his needs. The night he received his "Guilty" verdict, he was holding that will in his hands! On the evening of his execution, however, the will could not be found. No matter how hard we searched. I knew about the existence of the Asougi Files when I got my orders to retrieve it. That will was hidden in the folds of the kimono which was left in his cell.

OMG! I love the new Cross examniation moderate in Spirit of Justice! It has the spirit from the first game! I'm so happy this turned out great! Because the cross examniation is alwys for me the best part of the entire game! I just love the tension in the moderate version! Even better then Allegro version :)
My Moderato list (only the main series): 1. Spirit of Justice 2. Trials and Tribulations 3. Dual Destinies 4. Justice for All 5. Ace Attorney 6. Apollo Justice My Allegro list (again, only the main series): 1. Trials and Tribulations 2. Spirit of Justice 3. Apollo Justice 4. Ace Attorney 5. Dual Destinies 6. Justice for All Please note that this doesn't mean Moderato 2007 and Allegro 2002 are bad; I'm just not fond of them. And I have to say I love both versions of Dai Gyakuten Saiban - never heard them until today.
Mattok101 DigitalTamer I'd like a game focused on Athena where she tries to figure out his identity and also investigate the organization the phantom was working for
I'd rank the main series like this: Moderato: 6- Justice For All- Very dull and not that good at making anything feel tense. 5- Trials and Tribulations- Somewhat better but it sounds awkward and elongated, and by the time the good part starts playing you'll have finished the cross-examination. 4- Apollo Justice- Much better than the previous two, but a little off the top three 3- Spirit of Justice- Very atmospheric and tense. 2- Dual Destinies- Catchy, unique and fits the game well. 1- Ace Attorney- No explanation needed, god tier music. Allegro: 6- Justice For All- Again, a dull and uninteresting song. This and the Moderato version are the only cross-examination songs I dislike. 5- Dual Destinies- Not bad but somehow less tense than the moderato version 4- Ace Attorney- Very good, but like Allegro 2007 it's not quite as good as the top 3. 3- Spirit Of Justice- Just as atmospheric as the moderato and it works very well in context. 2- Apollo Justice- I like tapping my foot to the last 17 seconds of the song. 1- Trials And Tribulations- By far the most dramatic cross-examination music. It sounds brilliant and it fits the game extremely well.
PW:AA trilogy for me has the 2nd best cross-examination theme. apollo justice cross-examination really for me is the best. it really sends chills down your spine, but also feels like your own duty is to uncover the dark truth that is waiting to having light shed on.

I feel like people don't give JFA enough credit but especially for it's cross examination music, the moderato is perfect for a mystery and critical thinking whereas the allegro is perfect for the high tension and the pursuit of the truth as the witnesses cover it up with their selfishly crafted lies. So good man
True
The allegro themes for AA1, 5, and 6 really give off the “This situation is super intense but we’re about to get a big breakthrough” vibe
me when polly’s cross examination theme uses some of the melodies from perceive but its also funky groovy: dancing panic attack
I don’t know if this is a hot take or not, but cross examination themes are probably the most consistently good themes throughout the entire series. Not to mention, Presto 2011 is my favorite song in all of ace attorney
Cross-Examination Themes in a nutshell
Moderato: "Oh that one is easy, just present the obvious evidence"
Allegro: "Oh my, better press These Statements and hope they have a slip of tounge."
Presto: "ALL RIGHT GOT YA NOW... I think…"
Presto 2009 is probably the best imo
Investigations 1 and Spirit of Justice take it for me. Always enjoyed the sense of calm thought of Justice For All though.
Can't forget T&T's themes, either.
why does no one have taste?
Everytime i hear apollos one i just remember how deep that plot was so good
My favorite part was when they explained Kristoph Gavin motive entirely
12:10 is my favourite.
0:01 Simple, but still effective
1:40 Oh yeah, this witness is getting EXPOSED!
3:25 Kinda relaxing, would fit in a hotel lobby
5:10 More "regal", the second theme feels a little darker and more serious
6:55 Brings back the puzzling feeling of 2001 and anticipates a little the driving energy of the Allegro
8:40 Really like the resolution of the second theme to the first
10:25 Slightly darker than the others, it feels like that, by uncovering the truth, you're entering danger territory
12:10 The dread is gone, you must pursue the truth no matter what! (Also reminds me a bit of 2002)
13:55 Introduces well the change of musical style, and gives the feeling of: "Alright, let's get down to the everyday business"
15:40 A bit more moving than the Moderato, but not too much. Kinda catchy
17:25 WOAH! This is not a Cross-examination, it's a full on Pursuit! Can we get a Presto in all of the other games?!
19:10 Really classy, determined and well-meaning: it suits Edgeworth very well
20:55 More puzzling than the Moderato, but still very determined!
22:40 Do we need a pursuit theme after this one? This piece is so fiery, you won't have any remains of the opponent to face later
24:25 I really don't like this game, but I appreciate the British feeling given to 2001
26:10 Almost too relaxed for an Allegro, but it might be because of Investigations
27:55 Puzzling, but a bit too distracting
29:40 Is Labyrinthia French?!
31:25 Blackquill is the best
33:10 I. LOVE. THIS!
34:55 Kinda bouncy, like it a lot
36:40 Doesn't feel too different from the Moder- I TAKE THAT BACK!
I think the repetitiveness of SoJ's CE themes works in their favor. I didn't like how other themes had either too much variation or disconnected series of notes (like in DD) because I think they are distracting.
The presto ones were probably my favourite, I liked a lot of the allegro ones as well. The moderatos were good as well
we do need a pursuit theme after it, because it's even better
The fact that you dont like PLvsPW makes me sad
is it just me or does the Professor Layton allegro (English court) sound like something you'd hear in an intense elevator ride?
*intense* elevator ride? What elevators have you been on? 0.0
Well, I think it does a nice job at combining the slow strings with the faster piano or whatever instrument that is.
@@magicalmagehimiko that elevator from dl-6
@@realperson9951 beat me to it
despite all of them,I still love the PLvsPW ones, more orchestra-ish
Agreed
Total agree
Couldnt agree more.
*Looks at DGS*
dgs is also orchestra-ish
i love PLvsPW english court moderato and allegro, the both slap a lot
The Apollo Justice Cross-Examinations are probably my favourites for some reason...
It just seems like Apollo'll see every lie you tell, leaving you with no way out except to tell the truth.
being percieved by him must feel absolutely horrifying
24:25 i love how they referenced the first one ever
All of the Phoenix Wright part of the ost in the crossover is remixes of songs from the first game and I love that
Almost everything Phoenix related in that game references the first one ever
Yeah I'm not sure how 12 year old me didnt pick that up
Teacher: "If Billy has 10 apples and gives Gina 3, how many does Billy have?"
*cue music*
34:55
Billy: "Gina asked for 3 apples, so I gave them away."
Gina: "Well, then I guess he has 7 then?"
Student 1: "Billy has 7, as the scenario says he gave away 3."
Student 2: "Objection! (slams fist on the desk) There's no evidence to prove that Billy actually gave Gina the apples, and they are not currently in her possession as we speak. Billy, your testimony... has a glaring contradiction!"
Teacher: "Do you have any evidence to back up your claim?"
Student 2: Hm... In order to prove my claim, I need evidence. What piece of evidence can I use here? (looks at evidence)
TAKE THAT!
Teacher: "But that's..."
Student 2: "That's right. Red apple skin stuck between his teeth and apple juice stains on his shirt. All evidence points towards the fact that, all this time, Billy had all 10 apples!"
Student 1: "Objection! (slams foot on table) "The defense ought to pay more attention to his words."
Student 2: "Huh?"
Student 1: "You said that he had all 10 apples, but there is juice and apple skin around his mouth. Does that not mean that he... already ate the other 3 apples? This means that he now has 7 apples in his possession. In essence, the answer to the problem has not changed, foolish student."
Student 2: "B-but-! GAH!! (falls out of chair)

@@varsh144 wrong year
For me, the "mob cross-examination" on allegro is just excellent.
It's one of my favourite tracks from both Ace Attorney and Professor Layton 🎶
Now that BrawlBRSTMs3 is gone this channel is all we have now...
Good thing this series was made be Capcom, not Nintendo.
I discovered the Ace Attorney franchise almost 2 years ago. Been a huge fan ever since and incredibly hyped for the new trilogy to come out at the end of this month. The music in these games is absolutely fantastic. Thank you for uploading this compilation.

I like how the Investigations games have three speeds rather than two
I don't see them get much love, but Dual Destines and Spirit of Justice cross examinations are probably my favorite in the series. The Allegro for both of them is *chef's kiss*
Listening to this while preparing for my mock trials
The first game litteraly feels and sounds like a normal murder mystery game back then.
Now here we are.
Dethroning queens and herlock sholmes

Out of all of them, when it comes to allegro vs moderato, I think the best improvement is shown in spirit of Justice.
It's not often I say this - from what I've heard on RUclips videos I'm not a fan of Dai Gyakuten Saiban's soundtrack - but DGS has by far the best cross-examination themes. Absolutely brilliant.
I'm currently having my online final middle school test and I decided to play this in the background
how’d you do?
About to head off to one of the most important exams in my life, and I know that as soon as things start going my way, 1:40 will kick in my mind and let me steamroll everything. Such a good "hype" tune!

MAIN SERIES SPOILERS
- Hearing the Time -
Actually, I didn't "hear" the time… I "saw" it!
There was a table clock in the apartment, wasn't there!
Yeah, the murder weapon! The killer used it to hit the victim!
That must have been what I saw.
- The Wiretapping -
It was the beginning of September… the week before the murder.
I had entered the Fey & Co. Law Offices.
Of course, I had done so to place the wiretap.
That is when I saw this glass light stand.
- After Finding the Body -
I was with Sal and Oldbag, the security lady, when we found the body.
- The DL-6 Incident -
That day, I had gone to the courtroom to observe one of my father's trials.
- What Happened Next -
The girl on the upper path ran away as soon as she realized I was there.
After that, I immediately called the police station to report the crime.
It must've been 6:45 PM when I made the call.
They must have a lot of free time on their hands since they showed up within 10 minutes.
- I Wouldn't Be Allowed -
Like, around that time, I was, like, really close to getting my license.
My sis was, like, this totally big fan of cars and, like, really valued them.
She, like, had just gotten this really shiny, bright red sports car.
She, like, would say things like, "No way am I letting a newb drive my car!"
So, like, that's why I ended up in the passenger's seat that night too.
- About the Ringmaster -
When we were little, we were abandoned by our parents.
That's when the Ringmaster of the Berry Big Circus, Russell Berry, took us in.
I became an acrobat at around nine years old.
I wanted to find a way to repay the Ringmaster. That was my sole purpose in life...
- Request Taking, Pt. 2 -
Yes, now I remember, I took that request by mail.
There have been times when I took a job without having met my client.
The request was for the murder of Juan Corrida and 2 or 3 other small things.
When I saw the name at the end of the letter, I thought my client to be a man.
- Actual Crime Scene -
When I arrived, I found Mr. Marshall's body impaled on that suit of armor's sword.
Ema and Darke were lying unconscious on the floor nearby.
When I saw what happened, I thought she… did it.
That's why I erased all the evidence that linked her to the murder.
I had Chief Gant help me remove the body from the sword and carry it…
But if it was all really was a fabrication, Ema might be innocent!
- The Poisoning -
I met the lawyer who was poisoned to discuss something in the cafeteria that day.
I left my seat for just a moment, and that's when it happened!
From what I heard, it was a liquid poison that is lethal at just 2 teaspoons.
Not only that, I heard it was a very special kind of poison.
So you see, I'm innocent! I wouldn't even know where to get a poison like that!
-The Last Testimony -
Indeed, it is true that I was not at Lordly Tailor.
- Ties to the Victim -
Yeah, I loaned Elg cash.
- Who Terry Fawles Saw -
That day... 4 PM... I stopped the car. I was in front of bridge...
She wasn't there... So, I waited on bridge.
I watched my car from bridge. I never put no body in that car!
Finally, one woman came. She stood front of me.
We talked... Then she left.
That was... That was Valerie. Not my Dahlia!
- The Time of the Murder -
...Just before it happened, I think I saw some red lights.
- That Fateful Night -
The rage I sensed in that man that night troubled me...
- Tiala's Explanation -
That night, I went to ask Dr. Meraktis for the chart.
I had no intention of ever letting that chart fall into the Kitaki Family's hands.
But Dr. Meraktis didn't understand...
For some reason, he thought the Kitakis had sent me!
So I gave up and went home... All I did was talk to him!
- Cocoon Smuggling -
International Affairs got a memo about these cocoons.
Interpol's all hot and bothered about 'em.
Can't sell 'em on the black market. Too dangerous.
Yeah, cocoon smuggling ain't exactly lucrative anymore.
Man, I'm in International Affairs! I know the deal!
- Poisoning Vera -
Owning the same nail polish does not a murderer make.
- The Truth -
IT IS TRUE THAT DETECTIVE ARME WROTE MY ID NUMBER.
MY BAD.
- The Amazing Nine-Tails's True Identity -
The Amazing Nine-Tails's TRUE identity is NOT Mayor Tenma.
- The Dissin' of Phoenix Wright -
YO!
- Prof. Means's Work of Art -
Now, pay attention!
- What I Really Witnessed -
I had no choice but to disengage the safety lock.
I feared there might be more explosions...
...so I had to cut the launch pad lose.
Surely, the only escape the killer had was through Launch Pad 1.
But that area was a sea of smoke...
Confound it! Where on Earth could they have gone?!
- My Fear of the Moon Rock -
I felt fear when I thought of the moon rock because it reminded me of the phantom.
Yes, I'm very afraid of him because he took my family hostage.
What reason would the phantom have to be afraid of the moon rock?! None at all!
So the very fact that I'm afraid of the moon rock means I'm not him!
In fact, I'm on the side of... JUSTICE!
INVESTIGATIONS SPOILERS
- Portsman's Alibi, Pt. 2 -
That thief you ran into should be your real suspect, wouldn't you say?
We should be out there looking for that thief right now. They might still be nearby.
I hate to repeat myself, but as I've already said, I was training in my room.
And when Jim came to deliver some evidence to me, I was down at Criminal Affairs.
So I can't be expected to know what happened around here after I left.
-Reason for Suspicion-
Look, I know you're suspecting me 'cause I'm one of the crew.
But you'd think then maybe you should suspect Ms. Rhoda, too.
She's the one in charge of the elevator keycard and the shop, you know.
If you ask me, that makes her super-suspicious.
- Decisive Evidence -
Make no mistake. There are fingerprints on that murderous gun.
And they proved that it was Lolli who killed Oliver.
But Oliver was also after Lolli's life.
So Mr. Edgeworth, even you must see that Lolli was only acting in self-defense.
- Why It Couldn't Be Me -
Accusing someone of murder over a spilled bottle of perfume is a bit over the top.
But I suppose forgery of evidence is to be expected of a disciple of Von Karma.
In any case, it simple could not have been me who killed Mr. Faraday.
After all, I don't even know where the knife that was used to kill him came from.
- The Steel Samurai's Show -
I watched from the back row.
So the gun happens to be the same model as mine. Pure coincidence...
But, take a closer look. Only one of them has a laser pointer attached to it.
Check the number of bullets left in the chamber. Only two shots fired, see?
There's no evidence that I switched the guns, right?
- My Story, Pt. 2 -
I wouldn't go so far as to call it an interrogation.
I always make sure to talk to all the new arrivals.
Mr. Knightley... Yes, we had a little chat.
After our talk, he went right back to his cell, I assure you.
- Why You Can't Arrest Me -
It has been 18 years since I murdered Dover.
The statute of limitations for murder in this country is 15 years, is it not?
In other words, it's impossible for you to arrest me!
I only confessed my crime because the statute of limitations had expired!
- Regarding Jill Crane -
The victim, Jill Crane, was a member of the Prosecutorial Investigation Committee, y'see.
Personally, I didn't really know her that well, y'know.
Either way, it's not like I had a motive to murder her, y'know.
I have no idea why she was pursuing me, y'see.
- The Murder of the Double -
Manipulating humans into fighting with each other. Sounds just like me, right?
I did the same thing to Knightley and Blaise.
At any rate, there's no way the body double could've gone for a ride in my balloon.
The double was crushed by the monster's head, right?
And who was it that caused the monster's head to fall?
Reading all this, it's pretty obivious which testimony is the most unique.

2001’s Allegro has to be my all time favorite. Phoenix Wright basically defies all modern day Lawyers.
Cross examination 2002 just feels so much like 2002 for some reason
Moderato - That can't be true, so there must be a contradiction somewhere...
Allegro - We already know exactly why that's not true, so all that's left is to prove it.
Presto - Proof? I'll show you some fucking proof, ten times over!

OMG, thank you ;_;
I was waiting for the 2016 versions for so long ;_;
When Moderato 2009 reminds you of Portsman all the time xD
Allegro 2009 is definitely Alba's theme imo
PWL it’s Alba’s theme because you spend 20 years of your life with him
I'd rank the main series like this:
Moderato:
6- Justice For All- Very dull and not that good at making anything feel tense.
5- Trials and Tribulations- Somewhat better but it sounds awkward and elongated, and by the time the good part starts playing you'll have finished the cross-examination.
4- Apollo Justice- Much better than the previous two, but a little off the top three
3- Spirit of Justice- Very atmospheric and tense.
2- Dual Destinies- Catchy, unique and fits the game well.
1- Ace Attorney- No explanation needed, god tier music.
Allegro:
6- Justice For All- Again, a dull and uninteresting song. This and the Moderato version are the only cross-examination songs I dislike.
5- Dual Destinies- Not bad but somehow less tense than the moderato version
4- Ace Attorney- Very good, but like Allegro 2007 it's not quite as good as the top 3.
I disagree with allegro
Allegro 2004 put the good part in the beginning, that’s why it’s great
Moderato 2007 is good in my opinion because it pretty soothing but still a little tense.
my friends don’t know about this fanbase but they is missing out
i tried showing this game to my friends, but they don't show interest :/
@@varsh144 same.
I mean the games are good but the fanbase in really bad, so they aren't missing much
@@dogfellow3848 fanbase is quite sane compared to…gacha for example
@@ethypoo Not that high of a bar to set, and even then I kind of disagree
PW:AA trilogy for me has the 2nd best cross-examination theme. apollo justice cross-examination really for me is the best. it really sends chills down your spine, but also feels like your own duty is to uncover the dark truth that is waiting to having light shed on.
Moderato 2007 and Allegro 2004 are the best to me,
but 2001 (both) and Moderato 2009 seem like they fit the theme best, 2001 specifically.
1.Cross-Examination Presto 2009 (So amazing)
2. Moderato 2004 (I love how this one screams that there is something to come)
3.Allegro 2004 (I love how this confirms that there was something to come)
