You can tell if a person does not want to be touched or hugged. I am a toucher-hugger, but I always wait for the person I am meeting to make the first move unless I know them well or are a relative. It’s just manners and being aware.

I am not a hugger except my husband, children and Dad. I’m all kinds of huggy with this small, select group but not at all outside of it. If you didn’t raise me, if you aren’t married to me and if I didn’t give birth to you, please don’t touch me, it’s awkward and weird.
Kissing people on both cheeks (touching cheeks or air) is normal in royal circles, hugging is for special friends and family, not strangers, let alone the future King and Queen of England.
I used to be a great supporter of Meghan Markle from the beginning, and my suspicions were raised when only her mother was invited to her wedding. We have all been to weddings, our owns and others and unless you are born without friends and all your family members of people related to you are killed in a plane crash, a wedding is a celebration and every family members are usually invited. However, Meghan didn’t even invite her black family. She tried to put the blame to the Royal family and the Royal family claimed that the invitation was left it all to Meghan and Harry. The Royal family was shocked that they only invited celebrities, most of them Meghan had never met or known. Prince Charles got and paid for the black choir to perform on the day, thinking the black family were going to be invited. The Oprah interview and then the documentary turned my gut wrenching dislike of her being a liar and her disrespectful to a family that welcomed her as a nobody, paid for her wedding, gave her titles and prestige and accolades that she would not have got if she had married someone else. I think Meghan turned a lot of people against her, because of her own doing and character. She may have thought she was turning the world against the Royal Family but she underestimated people do have brains and eyes to work things out themselves. Before she met Harry, millions of people respected the late Queen and their lives of service were already on the map for the whole world to look up to and to be admired. Meghan is such a fraud.

Here to point all this out… Toronto police confirmed her pap and camera claims were false. She’s also called the paps on herself many a time, confirmed by the agency itself. So outing herself was, we can now see, to put pressure on Harry to take their connection to the next step, and in haste, and play the vulnerable little maiden for him to defend as if she was his (mythical, since we know Diana played similar pap games) mother. It’s appalling.
I searched one day to find the racist news reports to see how vulgar the press actually got toward HaM. From my point of view, the only one I found was a headline 'Straight Outta Compton '. Now that is a tiny bit distasteful, but the movie was out and was being PR'ed hard, so with that context, it was more cheeky than malicious in my mind. Otherwise, the only thing that was racist was social media comments. Most people bite back against racists if they can handle an argument with a moron. You can't control a personal comment, but equally, that is not media in any way, shape, or form . I didn't realise that their ' British media was racist ', was including comments from anyone, anywhere, in the world who may have read the news story.
Seemingly she was always wasting public resources calling police about ‘stalkers’ long before she met Harry Windsor. Hard to know if it’s all for ego, or if she really believes that a nobody like her attracts ‘stalkers’.

Omg, I tried watching this series several times when it first came out. I could not get past the second episode. These people are so incredibly boring! The version of their”love story” is boring. Meghan’s word salad is boring. Harry’s whining is boring. I watched it trying to hear them out and how they felt after the falling out with the Royal Family. I still do not hear a legitimate reason for why they decided to leave which leads me to believe they left for Meghan’s ego.

It has been proven that she was never hounded by the paps the way Diana and Catherine were. That’s why they had no authentic photos to show, but had to use photos of paps with other people. And she had to walk up down in front of Kensington Palace hoping for someone to photograph her. I don’t think there used to be any photo that shows her being papped on a comparable scale to Diana and Catherine. I’m an American and had no idea who she was until my British friend said he was engaged to an American actress and showed me a picture telling me how great it was this actress was mixed race. I asked “Mixed with what, Hispanic?” Because she is paler than I am so it seemed a weird thing to even be mentioning.
I first saw her on Suits in 2013 - I thought she was Hispanic. I was surprised when they introduced her Black father in the series. I only found out she was mixed when she was engaged to HaznoNutz.

The fact that she was mixed race was actually celebrated in Britain. People were excited that a woman of colour was marrying into the royal family. It was a GOOD thing and that why people talked about it. Mixed marriages are not unusual in the UK.

I’m American-British, and grew up in both countries. I was constantly moving between schools in both countries (as well as Japan and Germany - I have lots of family in the latter, and friends in the former - and once, briefly France). What Meghan Markle says about coming to the U.K. and finding the country racist is totally incorrect. I have grown up seeing both sides of the coin, and I remember being SHOCKED, even as a kid, by how racist and xenophobic the US was compared to the rest of the world, especially including the U.K. When I grew up, many of my friends of colour, or friends in mixed raced relationships, came back from the US describing how much worse it was over there, and how they had no idea. I’m a millennial. Unfortunately, Meghan Markle is the most popular among younger generations, and while most people do now see her as fake, her words have done lasting damage. I’ve met so many Gen Zers - both white and of colour - who think that this country is a racist cesspool with problems akin to those in America, when that could not be further from the truth. These kids have never even left London - they just know what they are told. And they are told over and over and over again that Britain is as racist as the US, so they believe it. It’s so sad. I have personally travelled all over the world, throughout most of Asia, Europe, North America, and some of Africa. Many of these countries I have gone back to a dozen times, and stayed in for a month or a few months - not in fancy hotels, but with friends, or I’ve just roughed it and have backpacked through the country. I avoid tourist areas, unless there is something amazing to see, like Pompeii. But generally I prefer hanging out where the locals do. You find better deals that way! That being said, make sure that you are safe, and don’t go to unsafe countries unless you know what you are doing and have friends in the country who can help - just advice for anyone thinking about doing the same thing. My point is - I’ve seen the world. I’ve seen racism, xenophobia. I won’t say the countries where I have seen it worst because I don’t want any hate directed towards me…but it definitely isn’t the U.K. The problem that we have here is a class-based one, not a race-based one. We have a different history from the US. Meghan Markle’s lies have affected many of the younger generation and convinced them into believing that they are being oppressed when they are not. They are convinced that the racial issues here are identical to those in the US when they have never been to the US. If anything, racism has increased here, but it is racism towards Jewish people - since the war between Israel and Hamas, people have conflated Zionism with Judaism and attacks on Jewish people have skyrocketed. The very same people talking about how black people are oppressed in this country are the ones saying how much they hate Jewish people. I know because I’ve heard them say it. It has become extremely commonplace among younger generations to wear such xenophobia and racism as a badge of honour, while complaining that POC are oppressed in Britain when they are not. Make it make sense. And it was not like this only a few years ago. It really all started around the time of the Trump presidency, which was also around the time that Meghan began dating Harry and making such claims about the U.K. I’m not saying that Meghan is solely to blame for the way that things are…however, she certainly saw that the situation was already growing more volatile, with people over here divided and horrified by what was going on in the US. And then she lit the match and threw it on the already sparking gasoline. Worse, she did so with malicious intent to destroy a country, young people’s minds, and for no reason, whatsoever. And now the damage is done. Such behaviour is borderline sociopathic, if you ask me. She is a very dangerous woman, and should not hold any position of power.

About the curtsy- l like your thoughts about Harry's pain at witnessing a disliked part of his ideal woman and his refusal to play along. However, he has a lot of resentment towards his father and brother, which she fuel's rather than help him work through it. Tom Bower's book delves into Meghan Markle's childhood and it gives us some insight on why she is who she is. Her father indulged her as any loving parent does but it seems to have an impact on her character. And how she can even turn on to said loving parent is also testament to her personality. Until now i cant figure out why she wanted to keep her family from coming near her husband's family. What is she hiding?
I think keeping them estranged is more about punishment and power. She knows her dad wasn't going to expose his little princess. She loves controlling people.
I think Markle couldn't have her family involved because they were far too pedestrian, just normal every day Americans. She was crafting an image of this human rights justice warrior (on paper, that is) and her family knew better.

Back in the day, I was totally on board with H&M wanting to disappear from public life. Seemed perfectly reasonable to me and I thought it would be great for them. As a Brit, the sad thing is that so many of us were so excited to have Meghan join the BRF. She seemed fun, bright and as a feminist, it was great to think that she was a champion of equality. Sadly anyone watching this doc and H's current court action re: security could end up assuming that we are all out to get both of them. It's very disingenuous and rather disappointing. They could havr easily left in a more tasteful way if they were unhappy but they've turned it all into a distasteful circus.

I used to be a great supporter of Meghan Markle from the beginning, and my suspicions were raised when only her mother was invited to her wedding. We have all been to weddings, our owns and others and unless you are born without friends and all your family members of people related to you are killed in a plane crash, a wedding is a celebration and every family members are usually invited. However, Meghan didn’t even invite her black family. She tried to put the blame to the Royal family and the Royal family claimed that the invitation was left it all to Meghan and Harry. The Royal family was shocked that they only invited celebrities, most of them Meghan had never met or known. Prince Charles got and paid for the black choir to perform on the day, thinking the black family were going to be invited. The Oprah interview and then the documentary turned my gut wrenching dislike of her being a liar and her disrespectful to a family that welcomed her as a nobody, paid for her wedding, gave her titles and prestige and accolades that she would not have got if she had married someone else. I think Meghan turned a lot of people against her, because of her own doing and character. She may have thought she was turning the world against the Royal Family but she underestimated people do have brains and eyes to work things out themselves. Before she met Harry, millions of people respected the late Queen and their lives of service were already on the map for the whole world to look up to and to be admired. Meghan is such a fraud.

Omg, I tried watching this series several times when it first came out. I could not get past the second episode. These people are so incredibly boring! The version of their”love story” is boring. I’m American-British, and grew up in both countries. I was constantly moving between schools in both countries (as well as Japan and Germany - I have lots of family in the latter, and friends in the former - and once, briefly France). What Meghan Markle says about coming to the U.K. and finding the country racist is totally incorrect. I have grown up seeing both sides of the coin, and I remember being SHOCKED, even as a kid, by how racist and xenophobic the US was compared to the rest of the world, especially including the U.K. When I grew up, many of my friends of colour, or friends in mixed raced relationships, came back from the US describing how much worse it was over there, and how they had no idea.
I’m a millennial. Unfortunately, Meghan Markle is the most popular among younger generations, and while most people do now see her as fake, her words have done lasting damage. I’ve met so many Gen Zers - both white and of colour - who think that this country is a racist cesspool with problems akin to those in America, when that could not be further from the truth. These kids have never even left London - they just know what they are told. And they are told over and over and over again that Britain is as racist as the US, so they believe it. It’s so sad. I have personally travelled all over the world, throughout most of Asia, Europe, North America, and some of Africa. Many of these countries I have gone back to a dozen times, and stayed in for a month or a few months - not in fancy hotels, but with friends, or I’ve just roughed it and have backpacked through the country. I avoid tourist areas, unless there is something amazing to see, like Pompeii. But generally I prefer hanging out where the locals do. You find better deals that way! That being said, make sure that you are safe, and don’t go to unsafe countries unless you know what you are doing and have friends in the country who can help - just advice for anyone thinking about doing the same thing.
My point is - I’ve seen the world. I’ve seen racism, xenophobia. I won’t say the countries where I have seen it worst because I don’t want any hate directed towards me…but it definitely isn’t the U.K. The problem that we have here is a class-based one, not a race-based one. We have a different history from the US. Meghan Markle’s lies have affected many of the younger generation and convinced them into believing that they are being oppressed when they are not. They are convinced that the racial issues here are identical to those in the US when they have never been to the US. If anything, racism has increased here, but it is racism towards Jewish people - since the war between Israel and Hamas, people have conflated Zionism with Judaism and attacks on Jewish people have skyrocketed. The very same people talking about how black people are oppressed in this country are the ones saying how much they hate Jewish people. I know because I’ve heard them say it. It has become extremely commonplace among younger generations to wear such xenophobia and racism as a badge of honour, while complaining that POC are oppressed in Britain when they are not. Make it make sense.
And it was not like this only a few years ago. It really all started around the time of the Trump presidency, which was also around the time that Meghan began dating Harry and making such claims about the U.K. I’m not saying that Meghan is solely to blame for the way that things are…however, she certainly saw that the situation was already growing more volatile, with people over here divided and horrified by what was going on in the US. And then she lit the match and threw it on the already sparking gasoline. Worse, she did so with malicious intent to destroy a country, young people’s minds, and for no reason, whatsoever.
And now the damage is done. Such behaviour is borderline sociopathic, if you ask me. She is a very dangerous woman, and should not hold any position of power.

About the curtsy- l like your thoughts about Harry's pain at witnessing a disliked part of his ideal woman and his refusal to play along. However, he has a lot of resentment towards his father and brother, which she fuel's rather than help him work through it. Tom Bower's book delves into Meghan Markle's childhood and it gives us some insight on why she is who she is. Her father indulged her as any loving parent does but it seems to have an impact on her character. And how she can even turn on to said loving parent is also testament to her personality. Until now i cant figure out why she wanted to keep her family from coming near her husband's family. What is she hiding?
I think keeping them estranged is more about punishment and power. She knows her dad wasn't going to expose his little princess. She loves controlling people.

As a Brit, the sad thing is that so many of us were so excited to have Meghan join the BRF. She seemed fun, bright and as a feminist, it was great to think that she was a champion of equality. The tabloid press made some nasty and yes, at times racism-tinged headlines but most reasonable people dismissed them as nonsense, as we often do with those types of gutter media outlets. We definitely have racists in the UK but if you want look at the pervading view of M in the early days, the footage of her wedding will show you how excited people were. I feel a bit silly that I had a tea party in my friend's living room to celebrate her, given that she now portrays us all as union-jack-wearing vile racists.
On this note, I would also just add that H & M don't distinguish between the British press and the British people. We are two different entities. Nowhere do they address this in the Netflix series. Just because the press does something you disagree with, doesn’t mean that everyone in Britain is hateful, dangerous or wishing you ill. Sadly anyone watching this doc and H's current court action re: security could end up assuming that we are all out to get both of them. It's very disingenuous and rather disappointing. The same does not apply with Meghan. I admit I was a casual fan because I was one of the few people that watched “Suits” before she became famous. I quickly started to dislike Meghan once I saw her real personality during the engagement interview.
Your take on the poem is so observant. I didn’t consider she rewrote it as an adult. That’s on par with her brand. I would take it one step further. She likely copied someone else’s poem like she’s done with speeches and content.
She learned that “H” for Harry from a movie/show she was in. I think it was a Hallmark show. I saw it! She called Edward Enninfal (sp?) from Vogue “E”. A lot of her lines are from TV or movie shows. Also, the Toronto police determined that no one was stalking her at her home. There were security cameras to prove it.
