Have you ever tried working with several invisible targets for some sort of area suppression? I think it is even possible to set up doctrinal ambushes with it using triggers as killzones that spawn invisible targets close to each other so everything within the area gets blasted.

With Zeus enhanced they throw the grenades. I also really like the dig in feature. I had the same thing in mind when I was thinking about such an mod. It is really awesome as a proof of concept and definitly worth expanding. This guy did something similiar but as script version and not based on zeus. I will test it again without mods to make sure no mod is ruining it but for AI I have only Lambs_Supression and CF_Bai loaded.

Hey, that's pretty good. Gonna be a real game changer for how a lot of people play ARMA. Was this particularly difficult? And is the individual soldier AI changed at all?
I wouldn't say it was that difficult as I enjoyed coming up with the gameplay mechanics and design for the mod, but it took a year approximately and a few thousand lines of code, the AI is tweaked to some extent, but it isn't that complex.

This looks great! Only concern is mico with large scale battles, i feel like it would be tough to have a wargame sized battle with this much micro. (e.g. suppress, attack, etc)
You are right, that's a pretty important concern for every tactical game, I made this mod optimized for Platoon to Company level engagements, but you can easily scale things up, the context menus remove a lot of microing and in single player missions you can reduce the game speed by using the - key.

@@jacktheviper1623 about more large scale battles: I placed 4 Zeuses(coop) and we had 85-100 bots under our control against 100-140 AI, and things were bad: Tanks didn’t shoot other tanks 5 meters away, infantry didn’t fire at bots around/among them, they didn’t not obey orders(occupy building and etc) Also I mentioned that “target” thing do not work properly ( on vehicles 100%,testes this with 1 tank against another tank, nothing else were in scenario)- they look in direction of the enemy for 1-2 seconds and after that just doing their things, and do not engage the target I gave them
@@argetlumkek3801 Due to the way arma 3 works, when you have a very high number of AI units at the same time they are going to become increasingly less capable depending on how powerful your computer is, you'd need to set up a dedicated server and headless clients to get the best performance, still the mod works well for platoon level engagements which is the intended scale. As for the 'target' option, it works, but it's not instant, it gives knowledge about the target to the AI unit, but the unit will take a moment to process that information, I'll look into ways to increase the responsiveness, if arma 3 limitations allow it.

This is amazing, I really want an rts with advanced infantry tactics, the closest thing is the men of war saga and its successors, but the AI is a bit silly and allows itself to be killed, I want to be able to give them orders like suppression and flanking fire

This may be a goofy question and may already be able to be accomplished in Arma 3, but I'd like to ask anyways. Assuming there ends up being some kind of dynamic singleplayer/co-op availability for this mod, it would only need one more thing to essentially be something I've wanted all my life, a military RTS that you can control individual soldiers in. With that being said, is there plans for a feature, or a way in Arma 3 already to select units you are commanding in the RTS mod, and sort of swap to a "boots on the ground" POV and assume control of an individual soldier on foot or in a vehicle? I know there are ways to accomplish similar results, but just curious, exciting mod regardless and nice work :)
I don't know if you or anybody will see this but ever since Zeus/editor was introduced to arma way back then I already said to myself "Yeah this could be a highly detailed rts game if somebody tried" and now this, I'm surprised nobody thought of treating it like an rts game till now.
unfortunate arma has limitations if u play enough of this gamemode u will c for yourself. a old friend and i made a gameode just like this to play and it had many issues mainly to do wit the ai. they stop working after so many untis r placed, dead or alive. a cleanup script helped us with that a bit but inevitably there were other issues. like how the ai wont follow road on none arma maps. if its a map form the workshop that is not from a past arma game or made specifically by the devs of arma the ai wont work
@@spencer6822 It's true that there are limitations to how many AI units you can have at the same time, but you don't really need 200 units around, the mod is balanced around platoon level operations. They do follow roads on custom maps just fine unless the map wasn't properly created.

So don't see the need for the boxes around them. Also would be nice to be able to toggle the icons on and off.
@@WinchesterDelta1 These visual elements are needed to improve visibility during gameplay, if you want a cleaner view, you can press BACKSPACE to toggle the entire interface off.
Go in the addon options menu and uncheck the "Hide Zeus interface" option then exit and enter zeus mode again to see the normal zeus interface and the create menu.

Now I need to know if you can have one team be the top down commander, and another team be a platoon of regular players, both for pvp (does it still count as pvp if the enemy team is just one guy controlling the units?) And for co-op missions. To be clear, I know you can already sort of do this just by telling the regular AI what to do while you watch a platoon full of peeps runs around the map, but it obviously doesn't control anything like a real RTS when you do it that way.
I don't know that much about the Reforger tools yet, I'm waiting to see what kind of systems they are going to implement and what the AI will be like before getting into it.

Yes, the main thing about this mod is getting more control over the AI units in Zeus. You can use LAMBS for the enemy units, but it will be disabled for your own.

US units from Cold war rearmed, the maps and East Germans are from Global Mobilization CDLC.

It would be great if there was a tutorial, I tried some things for several hours,when I try to open the menu it doesn't work, I don't know why, I'm probably doing something wrong or I don't know, for sure I wouldn't be the only one who would appreciate a tutorial,

In a way pretty funny.. We have a shooter with a tad dated graphics.. That all of a sudden becomes a RTS game with top notch graphics... 😂
