I totally agree with this 100%. "Pingy foamless keyboards" isn't for everyone just like clicky switches. However when it comes to THOCC, people might deny it but truth is everyone has liked it at one point or another. I mean, who HATES thocc? Right? I can listen to thocc everyday. Keep it up Lewis. Great content!
I just got my Cerakeys sets this week and I honestly can't go back to plastic. Not only does it sound fantastic, but it FEELS SO NICE. I was kind of iffy on Crazed, but they look way better in person. They are releasing more colors this month as well.
yo, I Care a Lot About Speed On My Keyboard, Would You Say It Takes a Lot More Effort To Push It Down Compared To a Standard Key, Or Does It Seem To Go Down Easier/Quicker?
For thockiest keeb, maybe can try on Zoom75 with full foam Boba U4T+ cerakeys. It will thock the heaven for sure. Can put it some sound killing mats/polyfill for extreme deep sound. Remember to tape the flex cut/use non flex cut PCB!
For the kit, i recommend an cnc acrylic case with gasketmount and pom plate, like a fancykey alice 66. For switches, some low pitch hyper tactile. For budget you can check out the ciy phantom, one of the only switches I considered thocky. They do have some issue with consistency though.
I just got my set as well and hope that they don't suck as bad as the V1s. To those who are getting these, you might want to add another 10-30g on your switch springs in order for them to feel as normal as a regular keycap.
The stems have greatly improved, as for feel. The 1u caps are like 4 grams, so don't need to add much. Mostly spacebar (20g) that really needs a stronger spring
@@KevinBoey do you happen to be using tactiles? Because tactiles with light springs sometimes have a really really weak return force. Thus needing more indeed. But in terms of equalising the feeling, 20g is overcompensating. The weight I mention is just their physical weight after all.
@@matthijsboog650 yes am on tactiles and yes I know they are only 4g but in reality you'll need a stiffer spring or a dual or triple to get the same snapback
Love my ceramic keycaps. 65g springs make it feel fine for me with tactile switches. Use 70g on space bar. They sound amazing literally never using my GMK sets again. For the caps that are loose just put a little piece of medical tape or thin tape on the stem of the keycap to cover the hole. All keycaps stay on no matter how heavy I type. Had one keycap stem break and cerakey sent me out a replacement keycap free of charge. If this were GMK I would never get a replacement or even hear from them. 100% worth the price IMO. Can't wait for more colour options and modifier packs!!
Great content Lewis! The boards showcased with ceramic keycaps sounded awesome. THOCC! Since my daily is a on the budget side which is the Monsgeek M1, I'm curious to hear how it would sound like with ceramic keycaps on it. I'm pretty sure it'll look nice and clean ngl. Will keep an eye out for the next THOCC video
Ceramic keycaps sound like shuffling Mahjong pieces. As for a keyboard kit suggestion, it should be none other than the Heavy Grail with heavy Topre domes. It's the foundation of "thock."
I would use ceramic for the sound but I don't like the slick feeling compared to plastic where there's still a but of roughness to grip on rather my hand oils making it slippery
How come you were sent two letter P's instead of an O, and didn't bring this up in the video? also at 2:23 you have Y and T swapped lmao, looks like that's how they were sent though so i can't blame you too much.
A case made out of a plastic material would be preferable, since its been proven to provide a deeper sound signature. Hell, might as well just go for the KBD-67 Lite with some U4Ts
I just got mine as well and the sound is like nothing else! I'm wondering what plate you chose for the Thera75 sound test because that sounded much sharper than what I'm running (PC plate on a Monokei x TGR Tomo).
the Cerakeys are nice but that 160$ price point is like supepr expensive and 169 itself is prob my budget for a keyboard. also lewis, can you visit landing pad? its a keyboard store that has a workshop where the workers can help you, i also heard that they also help do tape mod, lubing, etc. it would also be nice to make it as a part 2 of visiting physical keyboard shops! reply me plz >:)
Hey, long time fan. Do you think you could recommend or do a video over some keyboards with the most unique design? I love custom keyboards but there’s not a lot of unique ones

Plus almost every board actually looks best with these ceramic keycaps.

Not sure about V1, but V2 includes two 70g switches for your spacebar. They said 45g should be enough, but reccommend 55g or higher.

for big thocc i recommend fully acrylic case like akko ones with no aire gap
zoom75 or the qk75 with all foams ofc

As for a keyboard kit suggestion, it should be none other than the Heavy Grail with heavy Topre domes. It's the foundation of "thock."
Omg yes. Mahjong tiles! I kept thinking it sounded very familiar
Except it’s not
I would use ceramic for the sound but I don't like the slick feeling compared to plastic where there's still a but of roughness to grip on rather my hand oils making it slippery
Picked a set up for my new Odin build with diamond polished oil kings. Got high expectations xD
gmk67, a really popular board
How come you were sent two letter P's instead of an O, and didn't bring this up in the video?
also at 2:23 you have Y and T swapped lmao, looks like that's how they were sent though so i can't blame you too much.
Jelly Evolv, the new version of the og thock monster, jelly epoch should be the perfect choice for the thockiest board
yea i have the black version of ceramic caps. spacebar is heavy though. i had to upgrade my spacebar switch spring.
yea it is heavy
Why not try on M3 or CIY 68
The mode envoy for sure
A budget prebuild!! The womier sk71 which is super popular, would love to see how you could upgrade something cheap
You should 100% use the qk65 for the thockiest keyboard video
none of the sound tests say what switches are being used?
A case made out of a plastic material would be preferable, since its been proven to provide a deeper sound signature. Hell, might as well just go for the KBD-67 Lite with some U4Ts
i would say use the zoom75 or the zonex super 75
Why two Ps?
Beautiful
How is the touch/ feel of it? Slippery?
not slippery actually, a lil grippy

For the different keyboards you tested, did you just put cerakeys?? No modding for the keyboards even lubes?
KBD ADAM with the foam!
what about stainless steel keycaps

Is it compatible with magnetic switches?
try find a wood case because that in my opinion will give the deepest sound signiture lol
I have the Heracles 80, that shit is max level thock, I don’t see how it could get more thocky
There’s definitely deeper sounding boards than that
try on tm680 kit
Put the cerakeys on the Blueberry!
Use akko v3 cream blue
Does it feel like a toilet bowl or sink?
a sink
does anyone happen to know where I can find a 96% or 100% case thats red or royal blue?
"tok about thocc on the keybod"
ah the keycaps that look like white sticky substance that make me release white sticky substance when i hear them in a board
o yes
Looks nothing like that go get your eyes checked out
I don't have a choice of a case but for the switches im thinking anubis
What are those switches with black housings and purple stems?
What switches are you using?
plz use mode sonnet
of course killer65, maybe zoom65 if you don't have a spare one
I actually was excited for this until I went to the site and realised that everything was sold out lmao.
dang
Heracles 80, for sure.
It’s almost impossible to make it sound anything other than, “Thocky”
:video idea: buy a gk61 lube ktt kang whites and use the ceramic keycaps!
Zoom 75 with all foams for thockiest keyboard!
