There are better products you can get for the value. Nexgen has good marketing but in real-world application and use I think Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions is better… and cheaper. Application: 8.5/10. Easy to apply. Not the most difficult ceramic product I’ve used. I know the ad says to use the same microfiber towel for buffing off, but I’d consider using a separate towel. Shine: It’s good. With a black car in winter lighting, it looked great and I’m interested in seeing how long it’ll last looking this good. Water beading/ sheeting: Booty cheeks. As a classic car owner ( 69 Roadrunner ), a 34 year firefighter, a guy who worked at a car dealership as a teenager, and having used many many brands of car wax, I can honestly say, Race Glaze, and Diamond finish are the longest lasting waxes I have ever used.
Used the NexGen on my 2018 Colorado with Cajun Red Tintcoat paint. For those who do not know what tintcoat means, when my truck is clean, the color can shift from cherry red to dark maroon based on the sun/light angle/amount hitting the truck. I clay barred the truck before starting. Points I want to make. No way one bottle will do 4 vehicles. I maybe have an inch of product left in the bottle. I noticed right away the NexGen appeared to make the color deeper. My wife noticed this too. This is not a bad thing, just wasn't expecting this. The truck had ceramic coating on it when I bought it so this truck has always had a great shine to it. I'd say it has a noticeable increase in shine after using the NexGen. As far as having the slick wax finish, I'd say no. When I took a clean microfiber towel and tossed it on the hood. It didn't slid off like it does with plain old wax. It didn't slid much at all. Haven't washed it yet because the truck is still in the garage, so I can't comment on water beading. Would I buy again, no.
This review was so well. You did it right. For 20$ for an 8oz bottle yea you should definitely pass on this product. This is disgusting and disrespectful to other products that cost way less and you get more.
Thank you for doing an honest review and posting the result. These conpanies will sell you anything these days and i am one of those people who easily buy into the marketing hype and bs. Glad I saw this before purchasing.
In my experience this product is great for going to a show or something like that. But it doesn’t last long. But for a quick shine/gloss and slickness it works great.
Not even for that both sides were identical shine. Watch almost literally any other brand comparison where one side the bottle will slide straight off while the other sticks, water beeding and that SHINE!!! THIS WAS WATER IN A BOTTLE
This is why I just can’t get away from TW seal n shine! It’s so cheap, and works so well! Great video as usual, I will not be replacing my TW for this product
Great video. I use a lot of different products and test them on my own vehicles before I recommend to any of my clients. I have used Nexgen on our vehicles and it worked great for a while. We first prepped the vehicles and made sure everything was taken care of before we applied NexGen. It isn't the best on the market, but to each their own when it comes to ceramic spray coatings. Some like it, others don't. Thanks again for an awesome video. God bless you.
Hmm, I thought that it was just me.... it provides a very nice shine and is easy to apply, but when it comes to water beading and durability, I’ll stick to my Adam’s Ceramic Boost as my topper. Thanks for the fair review 👍🏾

Just got a bottle today. After seeing your video, I returned it without trying it. I’m going back to 4Star Ultimate Paint Protection, which I’ve used for the last 15 years.
Great job - I purchased a 3 pack during the winter and have not used it - due to the less-than positive results folks are getting. It seems great for a very nice shine, if one doesn't care too much for the water beading. I like to see the water beating. Kind off tells me that the vehicle is protected.
Exactly that's our only test to know it really is protected, by watching the water beed up. Scientifically that really is the only test we have has normal people a simple water pour test. 🐢 WAX 100%
Good test...I loved the shine but was very disappointed with the water beading or lack thereof. I will stick with the turtlewax - always great products for the money. One hint on the turtlewax...apply to cool body panels...warmer or hot panels cause the product to smear and difficult to remove. Not so much a problem in Michigan...but in Florida best to apply in a garage.
Just found your channel and thank you! You just saved me a bunch of money because I was going to buy Nexgen based on their advertising and a supposed independent Car review products website.
Great review. Thanks for saving me money . I use Last Coat products and I was thinking about changing to this product. Think I will stay with the Last Coat. 🤙
griots garage products are your best bang for the buck. ceramic speed shine and 3 and 1 are incredible products. so easy to apply and even if u had to apply twice the time...its still worth it because it is so easy.
Basically I dropped the bottle in a bucket of water after washing my car. It was amazing, it parted the water in the bucket so I could reach in and grab it. I knew then it was a product from GOD! I Yes it parted the water in the bucket. I have never used a finer product!. I don't need to wash my car again. I use a California Duster. It's incredible!! Since I've searched for a good, inexpensive "ceramic" spray all the test videos end with their favorite is Turtle Wax. So I'm buying Turtle Wax and skipping the costly junk! Thanks
I've got to add one more thing. I know a lot of people that use nexgen have cars that they don't even drive if it looks bad out. From what you said it has a nice shine, that's all I'm looking for, I don't drive my toy in the rain . I have every day cars for that.
I wish I would have researched this product before I purchased it. I've since watched several videos on detaining products. TW Seal and Shine seems to do really well in on the different detailers you tube videos. I've always had good luck with TW/
I like TLC2, seems better than nextgen. Have you tried TLC2 vs the Turtle Wax Hybrid? Nextgen 2x price of TLC2 oz per oz (nextgen 8oz, TLC 16oz both prices $35 ). Turtle Wax I assume is less than $35/16oz. I find TLC2 lasts pretty well 4 months after application.
I seriously late to the party, but I am here due to getting a beat down on FB with advertising from them. Nothing better than real world testing to assure me that its all hype! Thanks.
It looks great. You get what you pay for. They gave me a bottle of Nexgen for $19.99 and it was a free ship. To buy this is $39.99 off the shelf price. It works really good. Will I order again? Heck no. Armor All spray wax costs $5 and so does Armor All tire foam. Both look absolutely great and cost less than $10. For both. I get rave reviews for "how I keep my car". I do like that Nexgen can be sprayed on any surface. A little goes s long way with Nexgen.
Yea i applied it for the first time last week the shine is nice, but keeping water from drying to the paint and keeping it clean is nowhere as good as they advertised. I'll end up going back to Chemical Guys after this. Wish i saw this video before i bought the product, you live, and you learn, i guess🤷🏼♀️
I bought it too. It makes my cherry 2018 Camaro SS look like Surfaces were for sure much better looking. It is like a Clay bar in a spray. Water pooled like any other car. It appears to be AWESOME. But you have to use a CLEAN MICROFIBER TOWEL EACH TIME!!! So it is hard not to use the towel multiple times. 😮. Once Nexgen is buffed clean it looks awesome. But not water phobic as the manufacturer claims. They make an area look like a sheet of glass, but it doesn't have that SIO2 claims that all the manufactures are making. Water and clay. Knock yourself out wiping it clear.
I should have get your review before buyng nextgen. I had exactly the same results, I as expecting to have a better response to water, $30+ is a bit pricey for what the product does.
Same here. I washed, clay bared, polished and then applied this spray. The shine has stayed showroom quality and water still beads 4 months later. You can't be lazy and expect good results. It spending the money and time, do it right and do the full process to prep the surface.
I received a free small bottle of nex gen during Daytona Bike week this past March. Watched this video after having waxed my Toyota. I took and clay barred the hood and sprayed it with the nexgen. I could immediately feel the difference after the clay bar. But when I sprayed on the nexgen, I was not impressed. My Toyota is silver and pretty shiny for a 2007 year. I did not wait to do a BEAD test, so I just went ahead a put a coat of turtle wax paste on top. My truck is not fancy-schmansy…two wash and wax a year seems fine for my needs.
Our GMC Dealer asking $1200 for a 3 application ceramic coating for a new vehicle. Yes, sounds like a Rip Off compared to the DIY Application. 3 year Protection supposedly
I bought a bottle of NexGen when there was a 50% sale and I'm glad I didn't pay full price for the product. Throughly unimpressed by the product. Meguiar's Hybrid Wax offerings, although not lasting very long themselves, are a better value and better results than NexGen.
I ordered nexgen waiting on it to come in the mail. He may have done everything right but I've never seen rain pouring out of the sky like he poured it on the hood . I'm still going to give it a chance. If it works good if not I'll try something else. If you know someone better send me a reply of what it is and I'll give it a shot.
I’ve had a good experience with both turtle wax hybrid ceramic spray and Adam’s graphene ceramic. Adam’s has a spray version similar to the price of this!
He said it's clean dry and prepped. Prepped usually means clay barred. To properly prep a vehicle you wash, clay, polish, Ipa wipe down then lay down protection
Exactly. Without using a clay bar and taking all the contaminants out of the paint. The ceramic spray can’t really work it’s way into the paint to properly protect it with dirt and whatever else on the way
Glad I could help! I don't want it to seem like I'm dogging on the product, but this is a real-world consumer test so I wanted to show how it worked for me
Couple of things I noticed. Nexgen also recommended clay baring the surface first. And they also say not to spray a ton on the surface. A little goes a long way.
@@KevG don’t get me wrong. I agree with you. Just offering a potential adjustment. It is definitely not a long term solution as far as a coating. Hell I am still trying to find that.
The fewer water beads, the better. When those beads dry, you get spots. Of course, with a ceramic coating you "Should" (in theory) be able to just wipe the spots off instead of them sticking to the surface. I put Nexgen on my wife's bath tub and it makes a huge difference when cleaning it after she uses those wild "Dead Sea Mud" soap products that stick worse than any water spot could ever hope to (Girls! I Love 'em but just don't quite get 'em. Dirt Soap.). I had to use Citrol three times and scrub to get that gunk out the first time. After coating with the Nexgen, No problems. The stuff goes down the drain just using the sprayer (hope it doesn't build up in the pipes). A maintenance coat about every 3 or 4 months keeps it good. Amway used to carry a "Hard Surface Protectant" that seemed worked better than these ceramic coatings on glass. I never thought to use it on paint. I can't seem to find it any more and they no longer carry it. Good Video, thanks for posting. Later
I bought this rubbish for my husband for Father's Day...neither of us were impressed with it at all. Worse, after you make an online purchase, NexGen pursues you non-stop! Working its way into your FB feed, pelting your in box and email with constant ads and sales pitches...they were sooo annoying, I finally had to block them. Today he finally had the chance to use this spray..and what a disappointment! My metal flake paint does NOT sparkle and twinkle..can't even SEE it. There is a cloudiness, dullness instead of a dazzling brilliant shine. Just overpriced rubbish! Back to the Turtle for us :) I do not recommend this product at all!
you people are using this product incorrectly. Although you can use it as a stand alone product, it's to be used in conjunction with Nexgen's ceramic coating. Wash your car, clay bar it, then apply the ceramic coating, let it dry an hour, then apply the spray. Thats how this product is to be used. Then, use the spray periodically to keep the ceramic coating lasting. Just using the spray will only protect your car breifly. Trust me...I've done the whole process as I stated above and its been weeks since I washed my car and the rain and dirt flow off my truck with no issues.
Claying a car is a game changer, it will make even the cheapest wax look good. This thing is overrated. Bunch of products out there that do even a better job for lower price.
Their website is tricky and customer service is not sympathetic when you realize you’ve wasted $$$ on their “membership” that you didn’t remember signing up for. A VERY common complaint with their website.

Glad I could help! I don't want it to seem like I'm dogging on the product, but this is a real-world consumer test so I wanted to show how it worked for me
I did order 4 bottles....🤬
“The Last Coat” hands down the best! Look it up
Did you clay the car after washing?
Any thoughts on Cerakote ceramic spray paint sealant?
Any wax will do
Couple of things I noticed. Nexgen also recommended clay baring the surface first. And they also say not to spray a ton on the surface. A little goes a long way.
Thanks for your comment! I may do another review with a clay bar✊🏼
@@KevG don’t get me wrong. I agree with you. Just offering a potential adjustment. It is definitely not a long term solution as far as a coating. Hell I am still trying to find that.
What about silicon dioxide content effecting longevity
Product suggested cleaning surface with a clay square before applying. Would like you to comment on the value of this practice
If you guys want something better, bead maker from P&S is waayyy better. Adams graphene ceramic spray coating is pretty insane as well
I’m doing Adam’s graphene ceramic on my car tomorrow! Would be interesting to try the spray as well
Seems like a fair review. I agree, not impressed for the cost. I’ll keep looking for another option.
Check out turtle wax hybrid ceramic spray
the Turtle wax Hybrid BOLWS last coat and nextgen away!!
Go Buckeyes. Thanks for an excellent and thorough review. I'm gonna save my $$$
The fewer water beads, the better.
Later
Good call! I know a lot of people who ceramic coat sinks and countertops
Thanks for the video. Was about to buy this crap and glad I watched this.
Rustoleum Nano Hydrophobic is the best. Try that for next video.
Like others, you saved me money. Thanks!
Just
overpriced rubbish! Back to the Turtle for us :) I do not recommend this product at all!
I read that nexgen had the most grapheme of any ceramic product on the market!
Man I’m glad I watched this video. I was literally about to order the Nexgen. I’ll just stick with the mother’s CMX or turtle wax hybrid
Turtle wax is awesome
*_They do have a video on their channel saying how to apply it correctly. LOL_*
This video was way better then the product. Nextgen sucks even the owner says it sucks.
you people are using this product incorrectly.
Will this work on a white truck? Because all The demonstration are done on a black car’s.
Just because it shows up better on black, it’s a surface protectant. Nothing to do with color
I agree.
I just applied some to my fiberglass boat. Not impressed. I like the turtle wax ceramic much better.
Nextgen is actually really good maybe it would work if he had preped and clay barred the hood
Claying a car is a game changer, it will make even the cheapest wax look good. This thing is overrated. Bunch of products out there that do even a better job for lower price.
I went with the auto finesse caramics stuff and it works way better than this, a bit of cure time needed before buffing but is super easy to apply.
Just saved me some money. Thank you
Glad I could help!
Thanks man! Your gonna hit a millions subscribers this year bro, I know it’s a long ways... but I can feel it!
@@anonamoose1891 i don’t know about a million, but maybe one day! I appreciate it✊🏼✊🏼
@@KevG just keep with the trending topics/products and you got it fam! BELIEVE
You don’t want beading. When sun hits it it burns the paint. Sheeting is better.
Thanks for info
Why doesn’t anyone use a shine meter?
GO BLUE!!!
Their website is tricky and customer service is not sympathetic when you realize you’ve wasted $$$ on their “membership” that you didn’t remember signing up for.
A VERY common complaint with their website.
I like Lucas oil slick mist products
