    This is a wonderful piece that has been with me for a bit now and I continue to love and cherish it like the first time I opened its pages! Granados, the last poet at the piano, at its most lyrical, nostalgic, elegant and beautiful.

    Wonderfully played, as a classical guitar student I'm used to listening to this song on the guitar, but now I think I'm going to listen to the piano version even more. It gave me chills, it was amazing to listen to, so thanks a lot !

    Returning to the piano after a very long break. Studying a small part of this for my grade 6. Your interpretation has completely changed the way I've approached it. Inspirational Love it

      In the guitar this is considered a 4,5 out of 5 dificulty piece to interpret right... in piano how would anyone classify this? In my opinion the dynamics is probably what is most dificult in this piece... if it is played linearly it would sound just dull

    • @Lotte-xw3ze
      @Lotte-xw3ze Год назад +1

      I‘d say not quite 4,5 out of 5 but to play it as well as she does you still need a good amount of skill. There are some easier parts and some are quite difficult. For me as a hobby pianist playing for about 8 years on and off it‘s still worth to try and practice to eventually get a pretty good result.

    So well done... I'm a classical guitarist and used to hearing this as part of the guitar repertoire. (Julian Bream's is my favorite.) I'd completely forgotten how good it sounds on piano. Very nuanced and expressive rendition. Great stuff. Congrats!

    • @Nordic_Sky

      @@MaiteAguirre I think it's all in the performer's expression. In this piece, at least to me, it's all about lyrical continuity and voice separation. That's what you have done so masterfully. Again, hats off to you!

      @@MaiteAguirre I often come back to the piano version to help my guitar interpretation. Since the piece was written for the piano, a lot of guitar arrangements are extremely difficult so it is easy to get bogged down with the technicalities and lose the 'lightness' that comes with the piano.

    • @reynaldo121

      I’m a classical guitarist also and I frequently listen to music played on the instrument that it was written for. In this case the piano. In the case of Bach’s works the violin or cello. I feel that it gives me the composer’s perspective. The version of Valses Poeticos on the guitar that I enjoy most was done by Kyuhee Park.

      @@MaiteAguirre YES! bought the score right away. As an adult student of the piano I won't be able to play much of it, but started with the second section of #3 (the part in Dmaj), moved on to the first section, then worked on #1, I love the combination of simple melody with unexpected chord changes.

    • @MostlyIC

       @Maite Aguirre it looks like #5 is the place to start, technically easy, but that vii-iii-vi-ii-V-I chord progression is awesome, and then the even weirder chords in the second half. love it.

      Ah! I heard Granados' own recording and he played it like that, in a shortened version. I felt it worked better this way :) I'm aware that he was quite keen on changing things in concerts and that he had an improvisatory quality in his playing. So, perhaps he only did it this way in the recording and is not something he would teach to his students! But I felt that it worked! Thanks for listening and commenting!
