Coming from the food industry myself, I've witnessed how we had to throw away still good food because certain rules didn't allow us to donate! Now, we literally receive so many messages requesting donations for food to vulnerable communities. This type of content is just so out of touch!

i’m sorry if at some point of this video I was coming off as slightly rude, I must tell you that as someone who grew up with grandparents teaching me how food had to be respected, these videos really touched me and I simply got frustrated. I also traveled the world and seen people living in poverty, people who truly struggle with putting food on the table, videos like this just break my heart.

Many people are saying that it's his money so he can buy anything as he wish. And I agree. But what bothers me is that he could have used this money for useful purposes. Buying food is not a waste of money, but wasting them for views and followers is a HUGE waste of money.

Growing up in an Indian family, my parents always taught me that wasting food was a "sin". Watching this actually made me furious about how can they even think of doing such idiotic things! Same, I'm from Ukrainian family. My great grandma was telling me stories about Holodomor - genocide of Ukrainian nation, it was under Stalin, soviet soldiers took away all food. She was just a kid and they didn't even allowed kids to pick up grains, falling off the train on the ground. That hunger can never be forgotten, we value food as blessing

The same values regarding food are taught in Filipino homes too. We are taught to finish everything we prepared so there are no leftovers and nothing will get spoiled. Throwing out food is incredibly disgraceful and is believed to bring you bad karma. To Filipinos who are living under the poverty line, this value at least gets us through our daily lives, and these food waste videos made by privileged people from rich countries is downright insulting and shameful.

I still remembered having to feed a chicken drumstick to the dustbin when I was 12 bcs I was too full to eat it. Still have guilt until today and whenever I'm deciding on the amount of food I should get for the coming meal, I always remind myself of this scene so I would be wary to not waste any food.

Honestly it makes me sad how people are careless enough to waste a whole bucket of food, as I cry because I leave most of my plate 🥲
My parents, specially my mom, endured tons of struggles in life. The one thing she is proud of, and tells me quite often about how emotional this makes her feel, is that even though we had to sacrifice a lot of things because of money, we NEVER starved or skipped meals. We wouldn't have fancy things such as desserts, birthday parties and toys, and she had to skip meals herself because of late night shifts, but she handled her role as a supportive mother feeding her 3 kids, even though she raised us alone for a couple of years too. She is awesome and I can't thank her enough, I am the young man I am today all thanks to her.
With that being said, these videos hit me as meanspirited or aggressive, it is so sad to see this cruelty being done with the intentions of reaching fame, and even then it is only a futile attempt at that.

I grew up in a Malaysian household and my grandfather always talks about the story were during his younger days (took place in WW2) he and his family had a hard time planting vegetables and earning money to provide food for 10 ppl in a tiny house, that's why he always taught my family to always be grateful for the food you had and never to waste such blessing moments. While I was watching this my grandfather passed by saw this video and the disappointment in his eyes when he sees that and said "What's wrong with ppl nowadays?"

As a person who lived and rose from poverty, this is painful to watch. I bet these people didn't experience starvation. I remember sniffing a dried fish and eating a rice at the same time just to fill my stomach. I remember having salt with water as my dish.

I'm South Asian, and Asian culture encourages conservation. When I first came to America, I volunteered at a children's school. The teachers would give the kids a tray of food, and sometimes the trays would be left untouched by the kids. I brought a teacher an untouched tray of food one day, and informed her that the food is good and hasn't been spoiled. She literally took the food, and without a word put the entire content of the tray straight into trash. It blew my mind, this disregard for food here.
Americans have no discipline with their food. Not only food, I've seen people throw books into trash because they were moving and they didn't want to travel with the books. It just amazed me how this person never thought about maybe donating it to the school library, he just straight up trashed those books.
The reason for Americans throwing school food in the trash is mostly because of it being unhealthy due to preservatives, chemicals, & additives in them, as well as it tasting bad (probably to the kids).

I'm 17, and I used to work as a cook at my local restaurant. The amount of food waste a day can feed a whole family even though it doesn't look appetizing it still taste good and safe to eat... It disgusting seeing people with that much privileges wasting so much food without caring the world. Even though I never saw starvation with my own eyes.
I've once saw a mom of two eating at restaurant I used to work at not having enough money to buy foods for the three of them but mom's love is something you can't buy. She sitting there watching her children eat as I could've help but didn't. I always asking myself why am I just stood there doing nothing...
It's more disgusting when there is people out there defending this kind of "influencer". YES, defending people who wasted food for this idiotic content while there is people who are starving. They would says something like "it's theirs money who care😒". I CARE, let me repeat myself I CARE and if you one of the people who are defending this kind of behaviour.
