Also in this video, the fastest ding-dong ditch of all time. A pair of glasses that can transcribe conversations in real time. Someone created a lawn chair made of grass. An artist paints portraits on mountains. Someone performs an exorcism on a Halloween display. A scientist dropped a block of ice down a deep ice hole. A charity gets a ticket for feeding the homeless in Houston. A man kisses squirrels.

The fact the police officer still continued to write up his Boss is commendable, and a lot more people should be like him.
Why? What good does that do? What would have been different or worse if he hadn't?
@9kevYT Bot
The fact that the Boss, accepted his fate, and didnt run like a pussy, is just as commendable.
It's very possible the officer will now be fired or mistreated because of it, that's the unfortunate reality of working in a field filled with narcissistic assholes. I really hope that won't happen to him though.
@@bryanb3352 it means that regardless of their boss' position, they were still treated as anyone else would've been treated, which makes it fair. well, at least that instance, we all know most of our systems aren't one bit fair

The cop’s disappointed “really?” to his boss and continued to write him up was some ballsy move. Made it seem like he was the boss instead.
And the boss looked pretty ashamed of his actions though. He looked down like a little kid who caught with his hand in the cookie jar. 😂
@@voodoochile4147 He suspected he was heading to jail in cuffs.... which he should have been if he was doing 95 in a 35!
so it’s ballsy to exercise equality under the law? All are equal to equal justice under the law? As American law also specifically states? Well, I do not think it is ballsy to exercise equality under the law as it should be. But alas! propaganda exists
@@nozrep You might want to take your daily meds before you comment on social media next time. You don’t seem to have a firm grasp on how human nature works. My comment did not once stated nor hinted the person did not have any rights to exercise their rights to exercise equality under law. It clearly stated that he was ballsy to do so. Ballsy to exercise that right. It has nothing to do with having the right or not which you seemed to have been confused with. Whether or not someone has the rights to exercise something, it still takes courage for one to exercise it. If you still don’t understand and want to argue, just look and see why does the majority prefer to comply to what all cops asks of them during a traffic stop instead of exercising their rights? Why do majority of the cops not exercise their rights more to keep everything fair and just? Because majority of the human beings are dealing with their own fears and might not have the courage to do so. You might be brave enough to talk back to your boss on a daily basis and give him attitude while doing so, but majority of the people do not. And in this case, in terms of ranks, they were not equal to begin with, so the cop needs balls to even express his disappointment to his superior.
His boss could have fired him if he gave him no ticket

@@Hermit_mouseI've always heard about this food safety argument, and it's complete bull imo. Have people ever fed the homeless tainted food before? Why does the lawmaker suddenly care about the food that the homeless eat? Couldn't the feeder show them the receipt that it was freshly made food and not contaminated?
The homeless could have dug up the trash and eaten whatever they found, and you bet your a** no lawmaker cares about any of that. But the moment people feed them something, there's an issue with that.
I personally think the real reason is that they do not want the homeless to thrive in the area, knowing there's free food available at all times.

The fact that his art is ephemeral makes it even more special and beautiful
Ephemeral art is like that.
It's like the intricate sand mandalas that Tibetan monks make. Their destruction is part of the art, imitating the constant change of nature and life. All while also reinforcing the practice of detachment. It's pretty cool to see the concept played independently with other art forms as well.

Mad respect to the officer giving his boss a ticket with the same treatment as everyone else. Let's take all the accountability we can get these days.

I'm really sorry for you 😢
Those electronic bugle inserts are borderline disrespectful, simply because this can happen, which is more jarring than a missed note. It happened once at a Memorial Day ceremony I was part of, while our band that was playing for it had three trumpeters who were part of a volunteer group whose purpose is playing Taps at military funerals.
More families of veterans need to know about at least two such groups, Bugles Across America and Taps for Veterans.
As being one who had to organize and cover these, there are procedures in place to prevent missed funerals or equipment failures. We’ve had service members literally fall into the hole, the bugle broke, the battery died, flowers fall over, preachers are jerks to the team, and numerous others. Some of us had to sit in 95 degree southern heat for 2 hours because families are late. But we love the job and it’s rewarding to serve the final goodbye to our vets.
This isn’t an easy job. Some areas are lucky to have designated teams or the VFW to cover.
People will continue to complain about these electronic bugles, but we are not specialized service members covering these funerals. We are everyday shore duty. If you want a real bugle, go learn to play one, join the military, and cover our veteran funerals. 👍🏻
Not sure if it was required to play bugle or not, but my dad played taps for my great grandmother who was a docent for USS Hornet.

I really like that the police officers boss didn't throw a tantrum as seen in other similar videos. He knew he made a mistake and didn't use his position to get out of it. Respect.
He still kind of got out of it. 90 something in a 35 is an arrestable offense - a misdemeanor, not just an infraction / moving violation. It would normally be charged as reckless driving / exhibition of speed / reckless endangerment, the driver jailed, license suspended, and the vehicle impounded. A mere ticket (though admittedly likely a very expensive one) is pretty close to "getting away with it".
And all the citing officer has to do to let him all the way off the hook is simply not show up to the hearing. Automatic dismissal.
Even so, he should've known better

Bro pulled that
Passy out of his inventory
Wow, kudos to that lady for not giving af how many tickets they give her and continuing to do the right thing.
There is actually very sound reasons behind what seems to be an inhumane law.
Part of the reason for this law being formed, was to make sure the only food the homeless received was well regulated and healthy for them to consume (i.e. not rancid or poisoned).
The other reason was if you limit where the food is given, you have a better chance of organizing the chaos that comes from rampant homeless camps. If the homeless don't have easily obtainable food in their camps, then they are forced to go to shelters or rehabilitation centers in order to eat.
As long as Houston puts enough money into those centers to support all of the homeless that must attend them, I would say this is a very humane way to make sure the people on the street are getting the help they need, rather than giving them food and letting them languish in a camp where they continue to rape, kill, commit crimes, and worst of all, secume to their own drug addiction.
I would say this is a far better solution, than literally kidnapping homeless people off the street and forcing them into rehabilitation centers or shelters. Since that would really be the only way to get them out of the endless self-destructive cycle that unfortunately most homeless people are stuck in.
Food not bombs is a very good charity and outreach group that does good work in places where cities don't put enough money into helping their homeless people. But in cases like Houston where they have a more robust program to take care of the homeless once they make their way to a shelter due to a lack of food being given on the street, they are instead acting like a rogue element that is interrupting the best way to help the homeless.
Don't immediately assume a law in Texas is bad just because it's in Texas, use your brain a little bit and realize that this is actually one of the most compassionate ways someone can help them. They need to break the cycle, they need help.
And one more side note, this law only makes it illegal to give out food on public land, if you own the land or you have given permission for food to be given out on your private property, it is still perfectly legal to give it to the homeless on said property.
Currently the only public property that allows food to be given to the homeless, is the police station.

If you pause on that ticket, she got that ticket because she's doing it on private property without permission.
Food Not Bombs has been operating since at least the early 1990's, when they fed me in San Francisco. They were cited then for serving food without a permit (i.e. no food safety inspections).
What I heard was, that somebody gave out poisoned food to the homeless which thus prompted the law to be written.
@@punchkitten874 So anyone who asks someone to "get me a burger" is a felon? TIL 😂😂 Fascist America, land of NOT free.
@castonyoung7514 Yeah, you heard that, did you? Hungry people have to resort to dumpsters if there are no other options. That's not exactly safer and the people in charge know that. So the thing about poisoned food? Bogus.

Yes, it's nice having sneak peeks into who our narrator is as a person.
@k4vinzen I see you're commenting similarly in many threads. That's spam. Stop it before someone reports you.

@theparanoidandroid3583 too many errors... it's not an exact replica so there are odd typos and inconsistencies. Just a dumbass I think.
Good tax write off
3:09 It's sickening that anyone would think of banning food donations.
No it’s a good thing, for the homeless at least
Thry don't
It’s not illegal to feed the homeless in Houston Texas, just feeding large numbers on public property or any property without the owners permission. If they want to feed on public property, then they have to get permission from the city. Also I think it’s important to mention that Houston has provided a designated location for charities to feed the homeless without the need of permission.
@@KitKat-vv4fq So where the homeless are concerned it's time for some "big government" is it?
