Most used tool in my shop. Brilliant use of the set-screws to get a square 90º cut, you're the only DIY build I have ever seen to incorporate this feature. 👍
Thank you appreciate the view and the comment. It’s amazing how frequently that saw gets used here too. Hands down one of my top value for dollars spent tools. 🔥👍🏼🔥
Brilliant, I didn't even know these were available commercially let alone DIY. I might have to do this. Maybe with hinged table extensions to minimize storage space.
@@HouseofChop She's a beauty!!! I actually once had a 63' Chevy C10' myself and sold it, that has been one of my biggest regrets. I plan to buy another one soon. One of my favorite aspects of the truck on the 63' vs your 66' is the wrap around front window but I've noticed alot of people seem to be more drawn into the 64' to 66' style instead. 🤷♂️
Edward Ramirez Thank you. I’m actually in your camp I like the earlier ones better especially the 60-61 with the original style hood. The draw back in those years were the front torsion bar suspension but can’t have it all I guess. Hope you can find one for yourself. There are plenty still out there.
That’s a sweet little build Phil! I could see come changes to be made with it as well! I like the set screw idea to square up the blade, I wouldn’t of thought of that lol and HOC shorts gets a thumbs up 👍🏽 from me 😁
Thank you Glenn! Super appreciate you taking a moment to watch and leave a comment 🔥👍🏼🔥 What I like about a project like this is it can be changed up and modified in so many ways to suit needs. It requires so little in the way of MUST haves its open season on design. 😉
Awesome!! I love my portable bandsaw! I have a larger 14" bandsaw(I will be making a rebuild video soon) that I mostly use, but this attachment would be great for on the go! Awesome video!
Kuehl Enterprises Thank you. These little saws are a great for the small shop or on the go as you suggested. I’d really like to pick up a larger saw myself. I’ll be on the lookout for your video. 🔥👍🏼🔥
Don’t ban the portaband !! Definitely a wicked little setup, I just need to get a bandsaw, thinking of going with the M18 deepcut Milwaukee. Make it ultra portable.
Riley Konowalchuk Hahahaha!!! You get the stickers!!! It would be awesome to build out a configuration with a battery operated saw. The only drawback I see would be without the ability to foot switch it, it would be locked on. That peddle makes it really easy to use. 😉 Shoot me a DM with your address over on Instagram and I’ll get Tiglet aloft and headed your way 😉🙌🏼
Thanks for the explanation! I don't have a porta-band yet, but when I buy one I'm definitely going to build a table. Off topic, how do you like squarespace for you website?
Anytime, I hope it helps when you make your own. It’s without a doubt one of the most frequently used tools in my shop. @Ollaris posted one today too that’s a wall hanger probably worth a look. 😉 As for square space it’s worked out great. I threw that site together quick and it didn’t bog me down. I’ve seen people take some time with them and get incredible results. The commerce part works well and makes it easy to gather data. All and all I’m calling it a win. 🔥👍🏼🔥
Awesome chop This is one tool I want to have for a while I have the portaband just never made a stand yet maybe soon now thanks for the great video 🙏👍👍
The miter slots would be nice to a point. The blade has a bit of slop in it because of the way these saws are designed. It would be difficult to get perfect angle cuts on this style saw. If rock solid angles were something you frequently needed a metal cutting miter or chop would be a far better choice. I have videos on both 😉
Dude!! I think you could probably drill a hole in the top the same size as your stronghand table holes and be able to use the stronghand clamps to hold things down. Love the setup!
You're the second person that said that today Nate. It's a great idea! I'm going to have to give that a go and test if the 1/4" is thick enough for the clamps to bite. 🔥👍🏼🔥
Tig welds looked OK? Weld a bigger deck on top of that one hanging off a couple of inches for a clamping surface edge? Looks good and simple. Thanks for posting
You can add some angle iron on sides to be able to have more surface area and also to be able to clamp for more repeatability on projects as well. signed Cowboy Ironman
Harbor freight has the foot switch also. You could weld the head of the mounting screw in and smooth flush so you only need wrench on the bottom. The other option another RUclips used was to weld a simple clamp to the bottom that clamps the shoe to the table and then don't even need a wrench.
A solid mounting / clocking system, save that the slot you plugged with the table tab is an exhust port. Notch out most of the middle of the tab and table a bit and the saw could probably breathe a bit better and still benefit from the slot capture. Just a thought.
cool video, I just bought a portaband on eBay I got screwed in the best possible way, got a free one, and ripped off, then refunded, I I think I'm going to make a table like this on my channel.. Great video as usual
That’s so cool you build your own! And I totally agree, it is one of the most used tools in the shop! Had I built mine, it would have a larger top on it also. 👊
Have you noticed any adverse affects from having the trigger permanently engaged? I did the same thing with my Milwaukee bandsaw. I have no empirical evidence of this, but I always thought it was bad to permanently leave trigger to maximum pull. But it is a pain to strap it everytime, and sometimes difficult to get maximum travel on trigger that way.
Stephen Sheriff Thank you Stephen for jumping over and playing along. Shoot me your address in a DM on Instagram and I’ll get Tiglet aloft and headed your way 🔥👍🏼🔥
Nice stand! I worried about suspending the saw by the foot shoe so I built a stand that hangs the saw by the handle. I also made a separate support for the table. I made a video. If you search "bill k" you can find it. I would be interested in your thoughts on the design.
Thank you Bill! I’ll absolutely check out your video! Always enjoy seeing the same problem getting solved by different minds. Thank you for taking a moment to watch and comment 🔥👍🏼🔥
Couldn't you take existing and add a larger plate to accommodate your wish list for clamping? Start new 12"x16" maybe 3/16" plate cut your notch redrill and thread set screws. Couple welds on bottom plates to locate plate gives you some clamp area overhang.
