RIP Jim and Shane---I loved this show--Jim and his family were such real and sweet people--As Ariel said Jim died truly loving what he did--Soar on guys !!
Hello. I'm Shane's cousin. Thank you for your condolences
RIP Shane and Jim
"It's not the first, and it won't be the last." Prophetic words by Jim. I miss watching you my friend. RIP
Hats off to Jim. He was a great pilot and ran a great company. RIP, condolences to his family.
We had barely “discovered” Flying Wild Alaska, watching it at mealtime, we fell in love with it, the Tweto Family and pilots. We finished it last night having learned the terrible news a few days ago about Jim, his beloved plane and their friend. We are so sorry. He was a loss to all of us and that just shows the immenseness of his character. He will be missed so much.💔❤️🔥
RIP Jim... You had one hell of a good run, doing what you love. Look down from the heavens and bless your family. Hopefull those left behind can find and continue the pursuits of _FLYING WILD_
May his legacy continue to make alaskans able to live and thrive in that fantastic state, sadly missed and condolences to his family .
Miss you Jim hope you are soaring higher than ever !
Jim said something prophetic at the end of the video. He said my whole livelihood, my whole life, depends on this aircraft. Jim trusted in his trusty Cessna 180 until the end. R.I.P. Jim Tweto 1955-2023. 🤠
Jim Tweto knew the danger. He was so experienced. Safety was of utmost importance to him. Hard to believe he got killed in an air crash himself.
Dangerous flying out there, even for experienced pilots. Flying Wild was one of those Alaska shows that for once didn't exaggerate the risks at all.
RIP.
The ending part of this video is very touching as a pilot in training. Rip in Jim and Shane.
Very sad, he died pushing the envelope like had done for years. A true aviation icon.
I knew other pilots who worked with them. They're the same great people you saw on TV. RIP!!
"i broke my neck... 😅 ok it isnt funny..." the way he said it i had to laugh :D
a bit prescient
RIP Jim.
Jim never forget the fantastic pilot
He deserves a medal
Yes, RIP, I am shocked, my deepest condolances to the loved once😢
Haunting now to watch this again and hear Jim say things like, "My life hangs on this airplane running at its peak performance," and "It won't be the last accident."
What a loss ! RIP guys🙏🏻🙏🏻
Jim tweto. The legend.
Rip, prayers going out to the families
Brazil love Tweto family.
Family had there heart and sole in that business what a tragic loss my deepest sympathy !
Jim, through the show, is one of the reasons I decided in 2014 to pursue my pilot's license.
Blue skies and tailwinds, brother. RIP
Many of the bush planes are rugged planes and they have to be . They fly in harsh conditions sometimes !
RIP jim 😢😢
RIP Jim & Shane. 🙏🏻
"whatever we see, got all the tags". Now there's a sportsman
Just because you can legally do something does not mean you should do it.
Very sad that Jim and his passenger lost their lives. I really enjoyed his show.
The episode never explained what happened to the rudder control... womdering if one of the dropped bags took out the line? It was almost immediately after dropping the equipment that it happened. I've guided in Alaska for 25 years. The saying lives on... "There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots." RIP Sir.
I don’t know , but he was a great pilot. Probably mechanical failure? Respect to all.
And it finally caught up with him.. my condolences to Ferno and their girls.
How did they get the ground footage? Did they land to drop off a camera person first?
RIP Jim 🙏
Many thoughts
It's spooky the conditions similarity between this and summer 2023 crash that killed him and one other
Someone was filming from the ground...
Godbless him
Didn't this video turn out to be prophetic !
We got tags for everything! We gotta kill something!....everything!!
So much foreshadowing in this video. RIP to all involved
Man, keep pushing your lucky with wild moves like this and eventually it will catch up with you.....
Killing Bears is Bad Luck...sorry for your loss.
What a Great show!! I look forward to watching this show with my friends! And if I was younger, Ariel Tweto is a Darling! Oh she is Absolutely gorgeous! But I am to old now so in my next life I hope to run into a Ariel Tweto type woman, maybe one of her children way into the future!.. ha! Keep this show going as at least I can dream after watching this Awesome Show!
Thankyou all.
Aussie chrisso 🇦🇺 ♥️
You are never too old to fulfill your dreams. If you want to be a pilot or date a young woman, you can move to the Philippines and make your dreams become reality. 😊
I think Jim needed additional aircraft & pilots to assist him with his missions - Fly much lighter !
I fully realize the expense $. But this is needed to make missions work …. See ya big buddy .
They real need a Vstol plane like the AW-609 for this job.
That's more dangerous than any bush plane.
@@escapetarkov3838 not true really.
@@escapetarkov3838 Jim Tweto would still be alive today if he had the 609..
@@WALTERBROADDUS He wouldn't have, that pos aircraft is more dangerous than bush planes bar none. There's a reason the president and high level officials aren't allowed to ride in them. Let's then talk cost, that 1 aircraft's purchase price ALONE is enough to fund his biz for 40+ years.
@@escapetarkov3838 you're really misinformed on this topic. There's nothing wrong with tilt rotors fundamentally. And I'm referring to the aw609.
Rip
Based on information i have seen up to this point, i think this is the same strip that took Jims life. Even this scenario sounds similar to to what the NTSB has said about the accident. Ironic he crashed here before...
Yes, it does sound like the same terrain. It would seem hitting a small tree may have affected his pitch control. Way back in 1964 my Dad taking-off from a short pasture in his 1955 Cessna 180 hit a fence post doing some damage but he could still bring it around to land fortunately.
So verry sad, that’s all I can say.
As a matter of interest why aren't tricycle gear planes used more, because surely the nosewheel would mean they could never do a forward somersault when landing?
Too easy to damage the Nose wheel on rough fields.
I didn’t know Craig Ferguson narrated this series?!
such a nice guy i hope he's in heaven with God
Something tells me he put too many hours on that plane and it was an old aircraft even when this show was made. Did he not have a backup aircraft? Nothing runs reliably and perfectly forever. Being satisfied with 'good enough' is eventually going to get you into a bad situation.
Arrogance kills
What a waste! Losing your life and leaving loved ones behind so that rich people can go kill animals.😡
As a poor person that relies on killing animals to survive.... you don't know anything about life.
bro they eat the animals up there in Alaska
RIP Jim and Shane. 😢
