Besides being hilarious this is a scarily accurate description of how mob mentality works. A store being out of chicken isn't worth getting upset over or catching a felony by driving your car through the window but when in the presence of other angry people who are hyping eachother up it can cause people to act irrationally by neglecting their individual feelings and adopting the behaviors and actions of the people around them

Season 4 was an atrocity without McGruder's influence, so Season 5 would most likely be the same.
Better to leave it at the bittersweet Season 4, than to bring it back and make it even worse.
Season 5 was supposed to be released at the beginning of this year but it got canceled.
John Witherspoon was the best voice actor the original version of The Boondocks ever had.

The funniest thing is, I didn't even know this was based on real events when this first aired. The pre-recorded message, the "how we gonna feed our family" line, kicking the speakerbox... Pretty much everything in this Boondocks episode happened in real life to the point they barely changed anything (I don't think someone drove a car into the restaurant, but that's about all they changed.)

It was around August 2019, I was on my way to the movie theater to watch Spider-Man: Far from Home and on my way over there, the local Popeyes in my area was packed... it was crowded inside and the line at the drive-thru was long, long enough to reach the street. On my way back home from the theater the Popeye's was still packed and I ask my brother (who just got back from Popeye's) and I asked him what was going on and he said "It's the Chicken Sandwich they came up with" he bought over 13 of them and I gave one a taste and yeah I wasn't digging it... At least he brought home some Tender's, fries and biscuits with mash potatoes tho.
