Make sure its spot is clear of dust, if that doesnt fix it, then it maybe a sensor malfunction telling the detector that there is smoke, but in reality there is none, replace the defect Protect immediately.
If it was a sensor malfunction it would’ve told you from the nightly promise that the sensors have failed. Smoke detector regulations require detectors to do that
Trust me, they do. The reason the nest protects are seen as fault prone is because it's a popular smart product, so they're are more people complaining about it. Think about it, not everyone in the US has the same $20 smoke detector.
@@RamClaw I guarantee: there is probably no smoke detector more prone to malfunctioning than the Nest Protect, going by how many people have reported such. Take our house for example: we replaced the 20+ year old FireX G6 ionization AC-only alarms with First Alert 3120B dual-sensor hardwired with battery backup units when we moved in, & so far the only time they've gone off is when they've been tested or one time when my dad created particles of combustion while he was cutting a floor threshold (which is both times when they *should* alarm). From what I've seen it seems like Nest rushed things when it came to designing the Protect, which lead to the malfunctions; compare that to big names like First Alert & Kidde who have already been in the fire protection business for decades & thus I'm sure know a *whole* lot more than Nest about designing smoke alarms since they've had more experience than Nest (which is why their alarms are a lot less prone to false alarms than Nest's Protect). In short: because of all the malfunctions reported with Nest Protect, I'd trust *any* other smoke alarm over it (& I have, given the ones currently in our home that, as I've said, have only alarmed when they should unlike the Protect).
It happened to me before. When it says "The smoke alarm is over.", The alarm sounded again. Over lots of times it just continues until 8:00 A.M, it finished. My dog was barking alot. In 2:30 evening, the smoke alarm finished and after saying that, it sounded again. My dog barked for the whole night. I calmed my dog down. And at noon, it happened again. My dog barked very loud until 3pm it was over and it sounded again. It happened for a long time. False alarms keep going on me. Until it stopped. My family stopped, my dog stopped, even I stopped. I was like: I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!! TOO MUCH FALSE ALARMS." I hope it never happen again.
We had a false alarm at 2 am - 4 am Basically in my room at 2 am it said “warning there’s smoke in the kids room” cuz for some reason my rooms labeled that So then I went to bother my mom and she checked for smoke their was none and sent me off to sleep After one hour I fell asleep and then at 4 am all of the ones in the house were saying EMERGENCY THEIRS SMOKE IT THE KIDS ROOM ofc their was no smoke while it was acting like there’s a fire And once they were all turned off AGAIN EMERGENCY THEIRS SMOKE and this time they couldn’t turn of remotely Finally they went off by them self
I like how the British one says please be aware, when the American ones say heads up. Its so interesting
Because every region of the Nest Protect will have a different warning attraction
Save the beans !!!!!😂😂😂
"Emergency..this is ridiculous" LOL it sure is 1:56
This just happened to me last night 🙄
Bro I don’t have one
Please be aware. There is smoke in the kitchen. The alarm- *_BEEP_*
The first version is very buggy and a message “this alarm can’t be hushed.” Second gen is better.
The 1st gen nest protects are known to have these faults. Contact nest support and they might replace them with 2nd gen protects for free.
Agree, I recommend doing so too
Me too
Sb
I still have the first generation nest protect
Oh hell nah.
The 1st gen is considered faulty
Because it is the oldest version of nest protect
Looks like these nest protects are in perfect sync! isn't it?
You take the kitchen shut up I'm sleeping.. and you know...... I got to wake up until 6:00 p.m.
You need to get the 2nd generation they rarely have false alarms but the 1st gen do
Make sure its spot is clear of dust, if that doesnt fix it, then it maybe a sensor malfunction telling the detector that there is smoke, but in reality there is none, replace the defect Protect immediately.
If it was a sensor malfunction it would’ve told you from the nightly promise that the sensors have failed. Smoke detector regulations require detectors to do that
The reason on your alarm is because there might be an issue with the sensor on your nest.
Ya
They should try cleaning the sensor
It could be a failure with smoke sensor.
If that was the case the light ring would be yellow and there would be a message saying that the sensors have failed when you do the test feature
😅
When technology really fu**s up
this happened when I was cooking nest protect gen 1’s in the oven at 500 degrees.
Uh what now?-
Erasing ding, ding, ding. Please be aware, there is smoke in the kitchen. The alarm BEEP BEEP BEEP emergency BEEP BEEP BEEP
Alarm factory reset, alarm BEEP BEEP BEEP
The $20 smoke detectors you’d see at Home Depot or Target don’t have these problems

Yeah they frickin do lol.
My electrician said he doesn’t recommend nest products in homes
offfff. it’s a very horror night
I would love to have a nest protect but I hope it is not buggy !
I’ve only ever had one issue with a glitch in the system making me lose 4 hours of sleep
How many bloody alarms 🤣🤣
Take the batteries out to get it to shut up. (If it has any)
But there are loads of them
There’s literally 6 batteries that’s a lot so I mean if you want to waste 6 AA batteries be my guest lol
Good morning
Same thing happened to me today after 1 year. It's going back to the store...
To be fair, Nest replaced the alarm with a new one, even though it was over 1 year old. Obviously became faulty.
same
Neil Faulkner how many nest smoke alarms
@@neilfaulkner1655 You should replace it with the 2nd gen. Contact them and they will send you for free as a replacement

Imagen having nest protect at school

Same thing is happening to me now aswell
How did start going off tip CHECK BATTERY if that doesn't work call the fire department
maybe try pushing the buttons all at one!
Maybe that would not work but it’s worth a try
You have to clean the interior of the alarm
hehe smoke alarm go- **BEEP**
having similar issue with 2nd gen version
clean them with air that may help it
My ears.
This shit won’t stop and it’s saying it won’t turn of
it said smoke alarm silenced in the kitchen because someone press the button in the the kitchen

Dust intrusion? I've heard that the 1st gens have that issue.
I didn't know you had children :)
Just take out the batteries 🤦♂️
This happend to me and I pickaxed it

English or Spanish
OMG
Hastar
What the fuck is that smell?🤬

Go check the kitchen, dude
He took the alarm that was causing it down
Hush it from the app
The automated voice just says variations of, “this alarm cannot be hushed”, and “this alarm cannot be hushed here”.
@@TheNightFlower "from the app"
@@TheNightFlower also "can't be hushed here"
My bad, I made this comment a year ago and didn’t realise I was replying to the wrong comment at the time. Oh well, better a late fix than never. Lol.
I will go of again if you wait 20 mins
