It's almost impossible to put into words how unsettling God Machine is. The design goes more hand-in-hand with the music than any other Sunlust level, and the vast majority of megawads too.
How funny, was just thinking yesterday how God Machine would look in this format! As an aside, this was one of the bleakest but most grand finales of a wad I've ever played. The catharsis after beating Sunlust for the first was insane.
Can relate :) I discovered this wad on Zdaemon, where map28 and map30 stopped loading after some version update. I had only memories how creepy and difficult those two maps were. So After grinding the whole wad for a year, I still had unfinished maps. It’s also a psychological thing, you are most scared of unknown, and I was scared of those 2 maps. Eventually, after dehacked patches and more grinding, I beat map30, but never map28. This is why this wad is golden, it brings you to the completely new level of doom skills. After this wad, no other wad or map was scary anymore. 🤝👏👏 Bravo to creators.

Bleakest is right. I never expected Sunlust to end on such an unsettling note.
