R.I.P. the great Denny Lane! He passed December 5, 2023. I saw Denny with Paul McCartney's Wings at the Seattle Kingdome June 10, 1976. This entire show is chronicled in the film "Rock Show: Paul McCartney and Wings". Founding member and original lead vocalist with The Moody Blues, before the entrance into the band of Justin Hayward and John Lodge in 1967 and the symphonic rock that followed. Wings did "Go Now" at that show...was spell binding then and still is today! Thank you Japan SUNE for posting this great bit of music from 1964!

This magnificent song takes me to the sunny days of summer on my youth in America.
When the days were long, hot and sweet in Southern California. The beach was always scattered with long haired young girl beauties. No tattoos, attitude and foul mouths. Clean shiny sometimes perfumed hair, dazzling warm smiles and clear eyes. Friendly and a grand memory to hold close to your mind and heart as a solace later under my flak jacket as a young Marine in bloody Vietnam.
Moody Blues and all you wonderful young men of the British Invasion and Swinging England I wish you warm memory blankets during the cold winters of old age and for you who've gone before me to walk point ... RIP. I'll be seeking you again soon I'm sure.

A great song from the British Invasion and my favorite Moodies song. "Go Now!" entered the Top 40 at #27 on 3/27/65, peaked at #10 on 4/17/65, and fell off the Top 40 on 5/22/65. I was a minus 1 year old then. 20 years later, the Second British Invasion was in full swing with artists like Phil Collins, Wham, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood in the Top 40.

21 years later in 1986, the Moody Blues would be in the Top 10 with "Your Wildest Dreams" as part of that Second British Invasion.

    We've already said "Goodbye"
Since you gotta go, oh you'd better
Go now go now, go now (Go now)
    Before you see me cry?
I don't want you to tell me just what you intend to do now
'Cause how many times do I have to tell you darlin', darlin'
I'm still in love with you now
    Whoa oh oh oh
    We've already said "So long"
I don't want to see you go, oh you'd better
Go now go now, go now (Go now)
    Don't you even try?
Tellin' me that you really don't want it to end this way
'Cause darlin', darlin', can't you see I want you to stay.
    Whoa oh oh oh
Since you gotta go, oh you'd better
Go now go now, go now (Go now)
    Before you see me cry
    I don't want you to tell me just what you intend to do now;
'Cause how many times do I have to tell you darlin', darlin'
I'm still in love still in love with you now
    Whoa oh oh oh
I don't want to see you go but darlin', you better go now

Saw him in 1976 as part of McCartney’s Wings band. He played this during the acoustic set. Great. And the fact that Paul allowed it speaks volumes about his generosity

Great to hear this awesome song in it's original form, however, and NOT to take ANYTHING away from it nor any of their other stuff,Justin Heyward is the true voice of Moody Blues
