R.I.P. the great Denny Lane! He passed December 5, 2023. I saw Denny with Paul McCartney's Wings at the Seattle Kingdome June 10, 1976. This entire show is chronicled in the film "Rock Show: Paul McCartney and Wings". Founding member and original lead vocalist with The Moody Blues, before the entrance into the band of Justin Hayward and John Lodge in 1967 and the symphonic rock that followed. Wings did "Go Now" at that show...was spell binding then and still is today! Thank you Japan SUNE for posting this great bit of music from 1964!
I was at that Wings Over America concert in Seattle. Me and a couple buddies drove up from Portland to see it. I still have the ticket stubs in my scrapbook. The accoustics in the kingdome were not so good but still great concert.
Thanks for those great memories from '76. The evolution of The Moody Blues sound in the '60s is very similar to what happened with Fleetwood Mac in the '70s, when they added Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.

The transformation into Nights in White Satin didn't happen on its own. Ray, Mike & Graeme waited for Denny Laine to depart and for Justin Hayward to arrive. I'm not sure that was ever a plan, but it's what happened.
Great performance here. Mike Pinder on the piano especially. Its easy to forget how good he was on all keyboards, when he's especially and rightly remembered for his mellotron influencing the whole of prog rock........
I have loved this song since the first time I heard it, and this performance is even better than the recording! RIP Denny Laine. Your evocative vocal style lives forever. 💚
RIP Denny Laine. Hearing this song again after so many years brought back such good memories and an excitement for the future that sadly has been completely destroyed by what the government has done to my once beautiful and peaceful country.
A group that defied pigeonholing. From simple pop to orchestral progressions. I was 8 when this was on TV. I followed them through all their iterations. Enjoyed the journey fully.
This magnificent song takes me to the sunny days of summer on my youth in America. When the days were long, hot and sweet in Southern California. The beach was always scattered with long haired young girl beauties. No tattoos, attitude and foul mouths. Clean shiny sometimes perfumed hair, dazzling warm smiles and clear eyes. Friendly and a grand memory to hold close to your mind and heart as a solace later under my flak jacket as a young Marine in bloody Vietnam. Moody Blues and all you wonderful young men of the British Invasion and Swinging England I wish you warm memory blankets during the cold winters of old age and for you who've gone before me to walk point ... How I used to look forward to the segments on Shindig and Hullabaloo to see and hear the latest new bands from England every week. The fact that this music sounds as good as it still does, and the bands all look as cool as we remember them, is a testament to the quality of the music and bands of the British Invasion .
At the age of fourteen, I had this radio that would pick up an incredible number of stations late at night. I would move up and down the dial trying to land on this song.
I watched this on an old black and white TV (with rabbit ears and tin foil stretched between them for better reception....lol) in our old desert house in the middle of ranchland north of Tucson, Arizona. Oh man.....I was fully into The British Invasion, and this tune was a big hit with me too and STILL IS at 67 in 2022. We were SO LUCKY to have experienced this music when it hit us from every angle 24/7. These poor kids today....for real. God Bless us all. jbeinarizona
