There's a big difference between understanding why we need money because of the way our society is structured, and in making money the only thing you ever strive for. It's the difference between eating and not eating. We can't fundamentally change society even though it's extremely imbalanced and benefits the already wealthy.
It's true up to a point, on the other hand you can have a great time and life without much money. E.g. a guitar costs $100 but can give you years of quality time (if you know how to play it)
My world is God, family and money. I work so money isn’t a factor. I’ve been a rich man and I’ve been a homeless man. I’ll take rich every time. Took that from the Wolf
Even if you have money, chances are you'll use it for the best your mind can think about yourself but that too depends upon how you think about your world, it doesn't mean anything to have money if you don't have any idea how to spend it, better be broke and knowledgeable than rich and illiterate.
It shouldn't be like that though. Money should just be for the things you want but don't need. You shouldn't need money for food and shelter. It's unethical to take advantage of basic human needs.
