Close to the French coast, lies this forgotten abandoned French countryside mansion. The family tree dates back from centuries ago, but where the last residents of this property went, remains uncertain for us. The building features numerous antiques, impressive portraits and many more relics of the past family. We even found out the power still worked inside and water was still running.

What do you think of the quality of our new camera? 😁🎥
On a computer or laptop you can turn on 4K quality in the settings menu and watch this episode in an even higher quality as usual. Also we filmed this place with our own external microphones, so both our voices are always loud & clear throughout the whole video. 🎤

@@deborahwoodyard8895 I have some general input on this. I'm fairly certain someone lived here a short time ago and may have been moved to a hospice/caretakers, for a last time. So while that person is there, they will still own it. Kids of them certainly has started sorting what to keep and what to sell or throw out, and will probably sell after inheriting it.
Or, a sadder scenario is that there is farmland attatched to the property that's rented out, so whoever inherited it just skims the income while he/she let it decay. If the whole thing falls flat in 10 years they can sell the entire farm as a place to build a new "perfect" home for a farmer.
It's a million complicated french laws on this, so maybe it's something completly different. Some people around here even donates their house to the fire station so they can have a training day, and that is in many cases a looong proccess from the time of death to actually burning down the house.

Just pointing out a few things I notice. Hope you guys don't mind. This video is another treasure! (I love antiques.. and am always learning more.) 11:52 Crystal or glass knife rests (kept the knife from touching the table cloth.) and small "salt cellars" in the foreground. (For individual salt at each place setting they would usually have a tiny spoon in them.) 38:08 upside down bar cart/tea trolley with brass wheels. 37:30 Early 1900's beautifully upholstered Edwardian Style chair with "Jacobean" pattern. 49:44 A matching chair next to the fireplace. 43:03 Top Hat most likely Beaver Fur, later on they were made of velvet. 41:51 Victorian Era Baby Cradle. The hook would hold thin material that draped around the cradle to keep flies and mosquitoes away from baby. The curved part would be turned toward the cradle. 42:26 Early 1900s Chair with looks like maybe Needlepoint Upholstery. (If you'd rather I not post this type of thing let me know. :0) Thanks for the awesome video.

I believe the photo on the other wall at 23:00 is a younger version of the same woman at 25:18, she is not a nun - a Mistress of the household and very religious. This type of a bonnet was popular between 1840-1860, she did wear it in the photo at 23:00 when she was younger and again at 23:00 when she was older. 27:40 is a bridal chest probably a gift from her parents when she married with her dowry inside of it. 29:51 you are holding a burial urn with ashes. 33:03 a room decor from the 1970's (flower power) and throughout the second floor. 34:59 ...1914-1918 ....WWI . plaque. Remember generations and generations of stuff left in the house over the years few plan their death in advance.

Yes, yes and yes!! I came to say all the same things but was checking the comments to see if anyone else responded. I think the cremains (ashes) might be from a pet, probably a large dog. Although it may be different in France, in the US human cremains are not usually in a tin and loose like that. I have had the cremains of several dogs returned to me, sealed in plastic bags and usually in floral tin containers like that (but smaller because, well, see my picture - dachshunds! Plus one small terrier. BTW, the dog in the picture is living) or sometimes carved wooden boxes. Human cremains, if not placed into an urn and sealed at the crematorium or mortuary, are generally sealed in a heavy plastic bag and returned in a cardboard box, in my experience in several states.

I was hoping the sounds and the smell of perfume were paranormal related, but it came from something that's potentially dangerous; a human, and you did the right thing by not confronting them. They could have been armed. Whew, my heart is still racing!

The preserved rooms, and craftsmanship of the ceiling, molding and the design details of those gorgeous fireplaces and wood stove, took my breath away. Someone is definitely there and probably it is a hoarder. Looks like he/she has collected items, (trash rooms with bicycles, clothing, computer, etc.) and used this beautiful mansion for storage. This person needs to go and relocate. All that stuff is a safety as well as a fire hazard. This historical mansion and it's priceless items, and family history, can accidentally burn down by this person.
Glad you both decided to leave and not explore that last room. Safety First, you never know what state mind this person is in. Still loved the video and the beautiful rooms, definitely worth it...hoarder or no hoarder. 😁👍🏻💕

    Bonjour,
    ruclips.net/video/eOwJumUDth8/видео.html
C’est sympa de vous suivre, mais quel dommage que vos vidéos n’aient pas de sous-titrage en français, la balade n’est pas appréciée dans sa globalité.
Au plaisir pour un nouveau voyage par delà le temps et l’espace.
    Marie-Louise
    Hello,
It is always a pleasure to follow your adventures across the country.
You are so respectful of places that it puts balm in your heart.
My country, France, is rich in a very ancient heritage and I can see that through your visits, the places you visit make you curious about the history of this frozen past, this richness that is sometimes untouched...
The photos, the objects, the tapestries, the wonders of discovery are as many rebirths thanks to you of these abandoned places where life was often very present, but now forgotten for eternity.
Each visit is a pure happiness and at the same time a deep sadness to see our heritage thus fallen into the dungeons of time and become in fine dust. So many wonders, so many beauties that will suffer the ravages of time, but above all the disrespect of some who tag and destroy for pleasure ... What a shame.
In your video, you linger on a doll on the stairs.
It was Nicolas of Good Night Little Ones (1962-1973) who cradled my childhood with these sweet stories to sleep. So many memories that came to the surface. To thank you, I put you the link of an episode:
    ruclips.net/video/eOwJumUDth8/видео.html
It's nice to follow you, but what a pity that your videos don't have French subtitles, the walk is not appreciated as a whole.
So here's to a new journey through time and space.

Hi Maureno and Remon, It's always a great pleasure seeing a notification popping up from my favourite friends of team Explomo. I after that
usually hit the thumbs up before actually having seen the video, because I know, it is again such a banger! - And - what shall I say, it really
is one of these wonderful Explomo video masterpieces, which never ever disappoint!!¨- Already the wonderful drone shots with the beautiful
background music are very enjoyable. i absolutely loved your way of building up the tension, what would be coming next, when you were walking
through the field, forest and high gras to the mansion. - These two rooms of the ground floor are absolutely fascinating because of their legit
timecapsule appearance and the special museum like atmosphere. - The portrait with the "grumpy" lady was quite scary looking. I at least would
not like to have this painting in my room. That would cause endless nightmares. LOL!! - The chapel on the upper floor was also beautiful and
quite an unexpected surprise to see. - Great video, dear friends, which I enjoyed so much watching! - Although I have seen exactly the same
mansion today in a video from Jefstetics, I found your version of course an excellent addition, because I could see some other details, which I
couldn't see before. - Wishing you many more inspiring and exciting explores. - Lots of blessings and take care! - Kindest regards.

Hate to break it to you guys, but I'm pretty sure those actually are ashes in that tin. Human bodies don't completely burn and part of the cremation process involves grinding up the remaining unburned bones - hence the "gravel" you saw in the top of the tin. That's exactly what cremation ashes look like.

@@Explomo Yes I think I have to agree, although the bigger pieces usually tend to make their way to the bottom of the urn. That looked more like a make shift urn to me. It truly is a horrible process the body goes through to be cremated. They burn the body (obviously) but what don't turn to ashes right away gets beat with a bat or chain and pulverized. I had a friend whose mother was cremated and the paper she had to sign went into great detail of what they do to the body in order to get it to ash form, details which she said she wished she would've never read as it was her mother she was reading about. That's is just one of a few reasons I do not want to be cremated when I die. Quite sad really.

It could be. But the can doesn't seem right for human ashes. It looked like a souvenir of sand from a holy site or beach they may have visited. It would be hard for me to believe that the wealthy would store human ash in a product container.

The mess was made by a hoarder who kept everything and discarded nothing in his lifetime. The smell of perfume the knocking sound you heard near the end of the video ..... the home is occupied by active spirits more movement at night than during the day not a homeless person.

I think this place is haunted, it gives me chills. All those family portraits are the spirits that wander the corridors. I really want that jar full of marbles, I would be a horrible explorer because I would take things with me and probably be cursed. The red silk wallpaper is very beautiful, but that grumpy painting gives me the creeps. There are a lot of valuable things in there. I wouldn’t want to be there in the dark. What a difference between the first rooms and the messy rooms after them. I think someone went insane in there.

When you smelled perfume upstairs I think you may have encountered the spirit of one of the people who had lived there. I know you say you don't believe in the paranormal but that's very common with spirits. Are you sure it was a real person hiding up there? The uncomfortable feeling you described is also very common when dealing with spirits. Please be careful on your explores and I look forward to seeing the next one. You guys are the best ❤️

The perfume smell (or what smelled like perfume) must have been coming from the little chapel. It was just off the hallway and chapels often have incense burning inside. It makes sense - just like the spices smelt downstairs in the kitchen. Don't forget, when there is nobody living in a house (cooking/cleaning etc.) certain smells that are quite strong but still there, will stand out.

I saw at least three instances of orbs, one at 22:37, the orb passes from the top right hand side towards the painting of the old lady, as if going in it..! The second one was at the bottom of the old "nun" painting at 30:54, it is just barely seen as it is coming up from the bottom of the video. The other is at 31:47, passed REALLY FAST, you might miss it if you blink at the moment it is passing! (rewind until you see it, it passes as fast as a shooting star). Again at 41:01 another orb at the top floor where you guys said you had heard something. At the end, two orbs at 51:55 passed in a semi-circle motion towards the camera. I am a sceptic when it comes to paranormal but man, it would not surprise me if there was no homeless man in there but a spirit who wanted to scare you..

That was a wonderful tour. Such a joy for me here in Canada on Canada Day. The bones on the cross are a symbol of Adam the first man. You will see the same symbol on the crucifix in the chapel and it is a skull and crossbones. The symbol means that Christ has been sacrificed to make amends for the sin of the first man. Sometimes in paintings the same idea is shown by a skull at the bottom of the cross. The family paintings were well done. The one with the stern looking lady would have been special and shown her status because of its size and quality. The dour expression was the tenor of the times and the artist meant to convey her as being a serious, intelligent woman who the family could rely upon to keep their good standing in the community. It is both odd and sad to see the rest of the house is such disarray. The staircase is one showing the wealth of the family to anyone who enters and was called a floating staircase.
