The Red Barron- spat me tea out again, great to see and hear the banter between the two of you- dad and boy making memories just brilliant, need some tips on your mic set up if you dont mind 😁 we did Germany last year at what seemed break neck speed, your so relaxed its great

I'm sure it was the Red Barron! I'm glad you find our silly banter entertaining and it is good fun being able to share the hobby together as father and son 🙂
Our mic setups are rather rudimentary to be honest, my dad has a cheap Chinese action camera plugged into a fancy cable he soldered together himself which is connected to a basic notebook mic and power source simultaneously, and my Gopro is an old model so I can just plug the same kind of mic into it with the right plug on the end. I think the mics we use are from a company called Hama and the plug is a 10 pin type-b.
      Hope this helps?!

Oh, I wanted to see the biker cafe!
"Bad" in front of a town name means it's a Spa town.
Some nice towns and river valleys there

Oh yes, I was very careful with the filming given the German laws but if I was to go again I would definitely record a bit more of that sort of stuff! Also never realised the significance of the 'Bad' bit in the town names! Learn something new every day 😁
Thanks for watching as always mate 😊

    Ey up
A Lidl or an Aldi is good for snap when you can’t find a cafe. Nearly all Banks we had in Matlock are now Bars, I’m not really complaining 🍺
Good Father and Son bonding, as if you needed it
    Si thee

Good advice as always Ged, I actually used it on my recent trip last week where I also discovered they still have the tat isle at Aldi in France! 😂

That road may have been closed, the sign may have been saying that haha. A great tour.

That red and white sign means no entry, (in this case due to the road renovation) with access only for residents.

@@Wrong-Way-Round I had seen a similar sign in the Netherlands when that was also closed. Thanks for confirming.

Good catch! Admittedly we did take a risk by ignoring it as our navigation said there was a diversion via the side streets which luckily paid off meaning we didn't have to go back how ever many kilometres to find a way around in this rural part of Germany 😄
      Glad you're enjoying the tour!

So German bikers are not so hot at sticking to speed limits then... although they do seem to like to double the limit and ride at that speed instead. I found the little bit of France I have ridden through to be much like you were experiencing in Germany. I felt on several occasions like if I could just get one road over to the left or right, there would be cake shops galore.... alas, I never found one.

They didn't seem to be, although I imagine they know what they can get away with. Me and my dad on the other hand prefered to just be on our best behaviour 🙂
It still disappoints me to this day that café culture in Europe isn't quite like the movies for the most part... alas 😆

Where are you getting your county names from, here in Germany they are called Thüringen (pronounced Touringen) and Sachsen Anhalt. At the end of this video one of you aked where you were, well every town/village has a yellow name sign on entering and another when exiting but with a red diagonal (cancelling) line thro' it. Your welcome 😉 ride safe.

I made the decision to use the English names as more folk would have heard of them that way. You don't hear many people saying they went and toured around somewhere like Bayern on their motorads in the UK do you 😉
Although I will admit we was awfully forgetful on what the little yellow signs say! Thanks for watching and hope you tune in for more.

I'm surprised that British people have the need to change town names at all as I cannot think of a single place name in the UK that is translated to a different name, mispronounced yes but not changed.
When I first came to Germany I just learned to call and pronounce them by their German names (same for any country I travelled in). This helps greatly if asking for directions is needed (you wont confuse the locals). You never translate your own name do you, also on Utube your video's get watched worldwide not just in the on UK net. Ride safe.
