Hallelujah......I was homeless, got into drugs, went into prisons, then i got to know Jesus, He changed my life.. Now i have a home, a wife, a lovely daughter and a new identity... A child of God..
I lost my mom Christmas 2015. The church was playing this song as she was carried out of the church. I still get choked up and can't listen to the full song...
Regardless of what many people say I believe with all of my heart that Jesus will save the world. That is what the Father sent him to do, and Jesus is no failure!
My dad passed away in January. My mom followed him in March. The old rugged cross was played at her funeral. That was her favorite song. As I listen to this song, tears rolled down my face as I thought about my mom.who had dementia. She is.set free of this awful disease. Loosing my.mom and dad has drawn me more closer to God than I have ever been.
I lost my grandma a few hours ago to Alzheimers. I remember when I was a teenager, she sat playing and singing this song at her piano. She made me promise to play it at her funeral. With Covid messing everything up, I don't know exactly what that will be like. One way or another it will be played. In this moment, this song is making me feel so much closer to her. She passionately loved Jesus her whole earthly life. I know where she is and can only imagine the joy she feels. My heart selfishly still aches with a pain I can't ease.
Andrea Beth, I am so sorry you lost your grandma during this stupid, hyped up, fear based , 99.5 recovery rate pandemic. If the medical community had not fallen into all the drama, people could have been with their loved ones as they passed. My heart hurts for .you. I adored my grandma and lost her in 2005, I was her doll. I hope you are feeling better now How blessed she was to have such a beautiful young lady as you for a granddaughter. Remember " we do not mourn like those who have no hope " bible. Amen
@@pearlharbor4790 Thank you! I wish things could have been different and I could have been holding her hand, as I did with my grandpa when he passed in 2012. It still hurts, missing her, but I have taken great comfort in knowing how strong her faith was. I know she is at peace and no longer suffering. She's no longer alone, as I am sure she must have felt battling Alzheimers and also being locked away during this sham pandemic. Eternity is a mighty long time, and our time here is only a blip when measuring time that way. Someday, I'll get to hug her again and until that time comes, I want to live a life worthy of going home.
His Glory shines at us in Northern Nigeria, we'll never forget His nail pierced hands, the blood that follows from Emmanuel's side...the joy that everyone enjoyed today, came from tears, from betrayal of friends and from beating and bruises.... we'll not forget the message of His cross
My condolences for the loss of your Daddy. I can't begin to imagine that pain as I'm so close with my Daddy. Idk you but I'm sending thoughts, love, and prayers to you.🩷🤗✝️
✝️ Exmuslim Christian saved by the Grace of our Holy Lord Jesus Christ, God Almighty. No matter how many times you listen to this amazing praise hymn and worship, it's never ever old. ✝️
My great grandmother battled 3 jobs, cancer, taking care of her 4 girls and her husband, all during the Great Depression. She was a charming, funny and caring soul who took anyone into her home with open arms. I remember going to her house during Christmas, getting to open up presents on her living room floor. I still remember the distinct smell of lilac air freshener she used. After her husband (my great grandfather) died, she lived on her own for around 5 years, cleaning, doing dishes, cooking her own food, even weed-wacking her front yard. Gardening in her front yard was always her favorite activity when she had free time, even though she barely had anything due to all her tasks as a mother, as she believed the outside had to look just as good as the inside. During the summers she was often in her yard, planting tulips, her favorite. Even with battling cancer, she never gave up. She never stopped smiling. And that may be one of the reasons why she beat it. She got to see her children grow up, get married, have children of their own, and watch her grandchildren marry and have their children. As she got older, she sewed and crocheted things like bears, handkerchiefs, etc. As she aged, her stitches became more crooked, less perfect. Which made them all the more special. In 2015, she was sent to a nursing home, finally getting to be taken care of like she deserved, though she put up a pretty good fight 😅. She soon developed dementia. Her favorite things were her babydoll, that she always thought was a real baby, and her pink stuffed monkey. Her 4 daughters, now in their 60s-70s, visited her frequently. Sadly, when the pandemic struck, most of her distant family could no longer see her. Recently, she fell out of her wheelchair, and broke her collarbone. She was in bed with her daughters right beside her, as she died of a stroke. On January of 2024, her service was held at a local church. This song was played as a hymn. She was 98 years old, and she lived the life most could only dream of. Now her body lays beside her husband, but her spirit is up in the sky with him, where she’s happy, healthy, and she remembers everything. May she rest in peace. ❤
This most previous Sunday, our worship was overshadowed by the condition of one of our church family. I grew up with her oldest son, so I knew her pretty well. Last week she went into surgery for something unrelated to her condition, and her body didn’t respond well to the surgery. For nine minutes, she was clinically dead. If I remember correctly, she was resuscitated but unresponsive. They took her to Nashville and put her on life support and a ventilator. Unfortunately as the week went on, her condition did not improve and the decision was made to take her off life support Sunday evening. This song was the invitation/benediction. Her youngest son was in attendance. Everybody came to the altar and knelt before God, and prayed over her son, for anything to improve. Anything at all. I was playing drums in the band, and I was doing okay until I saw her son with his head buried in his hands weeping while a deacon prayed with him. I broke. But I had to keep playing. She was taken off life support at 7:30 Sunday even, and passed away shortly afterwards. May she rest in peace.
My mother just recently passed this month. This version was played at her funeral. I can't listen to it without tears. My grandmother's favorite hymn was also the Rugged Cross and played at her funeral. This has so many feelings of two extraordinary women who held faith in God close to their heart. My grandmother was southern Baptist and my mother Catholic. In these hymn it breaks barriers not so much as the religion matters, but the very soul the body contains. I hope to be that example to my own son. Im glad to be able to hear this song by this particular artist. It brings their memories closer to me.
Allen Jackson, one of the very best old time Country singers ever! God Bless you and your family always Allen, and thank you for dedicating your life to Country and the Country folks!
Because of the coronavirus, our church is filming "quarantine services" to post online. I am the worship leader and have beem struggling to find the right songs for the easter service. Then I found this one. This is the perfect perfect last song for this weeks service. Don't know why I didn' think of it sooner. Heartfelt song, beautifully done by Alan Jackson and his band. Thank you Lord Jesus for giving your life for us. God's blessings to whomever reads this.
I lost my mama last night and I'm going to miss her so very much. But, she raised her kids well and we all know she's in heaven now. My God take her in his arms and let her know that she can rest.
So very sorry for the loss of your dear mother. She wounds like a fine lady and I hope you can be sustained by the memories of good times you had with your mama.
@@ruthyanosko5635 I remember her as the happiest lady I've ever met. The best part is she was my mother and I'm blessed to have spent my life with her.
My mom used to sing this to me when I was a child. Crying rn 😭. This song just brings back so much memories. The reason I’m here is because my teacher had a piano version of this and I saw it. Almost cried in that lesson lol. But now I’m scrolling through old videos of when I was a child, with this song. The good times, the times I wasn’t stressed, the times I didn’t care. But now I’m just a stressed teen lol. Listening to this song is like a escape of reality into good times. Have a great week everyone!!
This was one of my moms favorite songs and she loved rhe Allen Jackson hymn collection. She passed away from Alzheimer's with my sister and i holding hands listening to this song. Beautiful gift this collection. Thank you Allen Jackson
We have an amazing God and amazing family in Christ. My family’s matriarch who formed our family into serving God recently went to her heavenly home and this song was a blessing and comfort. She definitely lived and taught us the goodness of God!
On a hill far away, stood an old rugged Cross The emblem of suffering and shame And I love that old Cross where the dearest and best For a world of lost sinners was slain And I'll cherish the old rugged Cross Till my trophies at last I lay down I will cling to the old rugged Cross And exchange it some day for a crown To the old rugged Cross, I will ever be true Its shame and reproach gladly bear And they'll call me some day to my home far away Where His glory forever I'll share And I'll cherish the old rugged Cross Till my trophies at last I lay down I will cling to the old rugged Cross And exchange it some day for a crown I will cling to the old rugged Cross And exchange it some day for a crown
when I was old enough to move from sunday school to church, this has always been my favorite hymn... I would cry and my parents would just look at me, lol
I have sung in choirs for most of my life ( I am in my 60's now) and I have never been able to get through this one without choking up! Such a beautiful, beautiful song/hymn. Lord protect us, and keep us safe. Amen.
Aye, I’m an ex British Soldier, but this song reminds me of my old grandmother. It was her favourite song. Now I’m 42, I have found Jesus again and welcomed him back into my life. I feel so much better for it, but I’m not allowed to go to church because of the lockdown. The wee birds in the garden have noticed a change in me, though.
I cant listen to this song without crying.. I lost my grandma back in October and I played her this as she was passing. I know my family members are in heaven awaiting our reunion. Thank you Lord for our salvation!!
This song played at my Dad's funeral and I remember feeling the love God promised us. The LORD is standing next to my Dad at the river, fishing and singing this song. AMEN. Can't wait to see you both.
Now this is the true gospel when I was little we always sing this in church that was the good old days when people truly loved and praised God .. this is when church was really Church back in the old days God bless us.🙏😢❤
This was my father's favorite hymn. He was part of America's greatest generation that gave four years of his life to defend our nation. To my father and the millions of men and women that served with him we salute you. On Good Friday we remember all of you at the foot of the cross that "for the dearest and best for a world of lost sinners was saved." Rest in heavenly peace Louie Stanley on the banks of the Snake River in Idaho where his family gathered to say farewell until we meet again in glory.
This has always been my favorite hymn. I am a Lady special Forces Veteran and am slowly passing from chemical Warfare. And all I have to say about it all is Thank You Jesus. Jesus, I love you. You are my all. With understanding being given Go Thy Way in Peace Be quick to forgive Slow to Wrath And always be Grateful to God for All. Remember " Jesus said, If you love me than keep my commandments and the greatest of these is that you are to LOVE ONE ANOTHER" To my friends Family and Loved ones May the Lord keep you till we met again over on the Lord's Shore..
I lost my grandpa when I was 14. He was the choir leader in their little one room church is southern Ky. I can still see him up there singing his songs. this was one of his favorites and was played at his funeral. When I lost my dad in 1997, this song was also played. I'm a grown 55 year old guy with tears streaming down my face. Miss them both so much still
Hey, Kev. My names Don and I lost my dad last year. He taught me this song and I rejoice everyday that he's with our Lord now. No more pain and suffering. I hope all is good with you and yours. God bless!
Well Alan, This was my Great Grandmother on my Mom's side's favorite song. R I p to my Grandparents and Great Grandparents on both sides and Great Aunts and Uncles. 👵 💔 🙏.
My mothers funeral today . She was 95 and this song was one she requested . We sang it many time in church years ago and now she joins dad and more family and they can all enjoy it together.
You know I remember even though I was very young when my mother passed her singing that song like it was one of her favorites God bless you Mr. Jackson❤❤
A lady sang this song at my grandmother's funeral in 1951 and I watched my Dad cry. Every time I heard it, it brought tears to my eyes until he died in 1980. Now it brings back beautiful memories, not no tears. Thanks for posting it, Alan Jackson sings it beautifully.
I remember my Dad singing this smiling down at me with tears in his eyes precious memories I sang what child is this Dad standing at the back of the church smiling tears in his eyes I sang my heart out with tears smiling Thank You Dear Angel For Sharing Beautifully Sung Stands up Cheers ..
My daddy say this song to me all the time. At his funeral. When it was time for him to go HOME to JESUS it was sang to him! Praise you Jesus this is NOT our home!
my great grandfather absolutely loved this song. he had a very bad illness. i'm not particularly sure what it was but it had something to do with his breathing. he always had to wear these things in his nose to help him to breathe. one night, it had stopped working. and he had to be rushed to the hospital. me and my very stressed out grandma, who had to take care of him, a 7 year old me, and her 80 year old mother and stepfather. were so worried. but he slowly got better to come back home on Hospice Care, an at home hospital care type. he had been doing pretty well for a while, but one very early morning, around 3:30 am, we had gotten a call that had said he had passed away in his sleep. we were all crying and mourning. about a month later, we had a funeral for him. we had this song playing at the very end. to this day, as a teen, still come back to this song to remember him. i loved him very much. i hope i get to see him again up there in the clouds one day.
Alleluia! May we all “all cherish that old rugged Cross.” Lord willing we all make it to that heavenly place where Our Savior has in store for us. Here’s to all those don’t believe, may God be Merciful.
We lost my dad one week ago. There was about an hour between the time the doctor put in the order to take him off the ventilator and when the respiratory therapists actually took the ventilator out. During that hour we listened to this entire album with my dad and prayed over him,. I cant tell you the peace it gave us. This was his favorite song and I am so grateful that Alan Jackson recorded all of these songs. I know that my dad could hear the music and it gives me such a sense of peace knowing that these were the last songs he heard before he passed.
This used to be my grandpas favorite song he loved it so much we desided to play it at the end of his funeral cause he said "one day i'll carry my cross and go to see all of our family in heaven and tell all them all the great things you've done with me and your family" and I'm sure he did
I was about 12 years old when I sang the song solo in Junior Choir at a Methodist Church in Delaware for my parents...My parents were proud of me...Many years later they have both passed away, and this song still gives me comfort for our eventual reunion.
This song gives me hope to live through today, and faith for that which awaits me when finally we meet in heaven, when Christ returns. oh may he guide and lead us all, that when the day of judgement comes, we are found worthy..

This song will forever have a new meaning for me, the lyrics to this beautiful song were my grandfather’s last words. And since that day I have not been able listen to this song without crying, but I love the memory it reminds me of.
Aw, so sorry for your loss. I can relate. I lost my 81 yr. old Mother last weekend. This was one of my Mother's favorite hymns, and it brought me to tears just now as I've been skimming youtube for this song as well as her other favorite (from her sister's 12 yr hold childhood funeral).....Onward Christian Soldiers. Thank you Lord and Savior for the heavenly place you have waiting for All who believe in Him.
Tammy McC-N - I just read your comment , 1 year after you left it .. Just wanted to share that I have fairly recently lost my sweet dear Mother { Mama to me } ... This was a personal favorite of hers as well . I now sing it outloud everynight before bed . This reminds me of her deep faith in and Love for Jesus .. It also reminds me of the walk in the garden that one day { its close now } I will take with Jesus in His Garden in heaven ,,,, just HE and I walking as HE tells me I am HIS own ,,.. I really look forward to that day ... Tears are running down my cheeks as I write this to you .... If not for HIS Sacrifice we would have no chance of seeing your Grandma and my Mama ever again .. Praise your Holy name JESUS .. See you there Sister .. Your brother Jeff Warren
I can recall my dear Mother singing this hymn many times during my lifetime - and I long to hear her sing this again. I truly believe I will see her again someday.
@@patriciajenkins9643. The Bible said SuperGodSr ripped out one of Adam's ribs, then shouted 'ABRACADABRA!' and the rib turned into a human. Adam then married his own rib, and marriage was defined as a man and his own rib. The Bible said they could even make their own riblets with the help of Jesus. Then Adam’s rib couldn't stop talking so Adam went to his man-cave for some peace and quiet, thus creating the first caveman. That’s why the Bible said Adam’s ribs must be quiet in Church because men are naturally smarter than ribs! The Bible said Adam and his descendants even enjoyed barbecuing ribs for SuperGodSr. That’s why men still love barbecuing in their backyard at their altar for their very own blood sacrifices. The Bible said Aaron and Moses had a wooden stick turn into a living snake. After it was over, they put the magic wood in the Ark of the Covenant and saved it for later. Geppetto was able to carve Pinocchio with the magic wood. Biblical archaeologists are able to show that Geppetto and Pinocchio survived in the belly of a Great fish thereby confirming, according to Biblical scholars, the Bible is true. The Bible said SuperGodSr’s rocket ship sped through star-studded space, entered naive teenager Mary, while landing safely on Earth with its precious burden: SuperGodSr’s sole survivor, Jesus Christ! A passing Joseph found the uninjured child and took SuperGodJr home and then didn't have sex with naive teenager Mary. As the years went by and the child grew to maturity, He found himself possessed of Amazing Physical and Mental Powers. Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. The infant of SuperGodSr is now the Man of Steel: SuperGodJr! To best be in a position to use His Amazing Powers in a never-ending battle for Truth and Justice, SuperGodJr has assumed the disguise of Jesus Christ, mild-mannered Sky Reporter for the Great American busybody and Town Gossip Association. They are assembled as Church ‘Space Cadets’! At these meetings people love to give away their money to hear these Bronze Age tribal stories in the 21st Century. If a person believes all of these tribal stories that person can respawn into eternal Bliss, for a weekly donation of course. It’s a PROVEN FACT that the night before His cruci-fiction, Jesus was in the garden praying, "Dad, DAD! Do You hear ME? Wake-up! It's ME - YOU, Jesus! What are YOU doing? I need to catch up on the latest gossip. Are YOU still helping people find their oxcart keys?" The Bible is TRUE because the Bible SAID it’s TRUE and the Bible SAID it can’t LIE, so that makes the Bible A PROVEN FACT! Why do these non-believers deny these PROVEN FACTS? It's as plain as the nose on Pinocchio's face. These non-believers are in serious denial of this reality. That’s why the Bible’s authors wrote with the magic wood that SuperGod is Three Pinocchios in One carved Pinocchio. These non-believers of SuperGod need to WAKE UP! We pray the Holy Ghost 👻 will convince them BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE! Don’t let THE FINAL BARBECUE catch you by surprise!
I don't know why I came to this rendition of your "Rugged Cross" Mr. Jackson but I am sure that this is poignant and I'm sure that it must be for a REASON and my faith has this special moment of Holy week to ponder. Thank you so much, for your meaningful song Sir! May you be bless a thousand times 🙂
I’m a hospice patient and play this for my patients. Even my patients with dementia remember this hymn and will sing along or try to. It’s beautiful to behold. The love of Jesus has no boundary.
Before my pop died he ask aunt Emmie to sing the old rugged cross. He's not suffering anymore. He's with Jesus, but I sure do miss my hero. Alan Jackson does this song perfectly. ❤️💯
Phillippians 2 : 9 - 11 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. I'm not particularly religious but this is a beautiful song, well written and performed. It reminds me of my late father who would always be singing this and many more songs whilst he worked. We played it at his funeral and I find a huge amount of comfort in hearing it. Thank you.

This is so beautiful. Mr Jackson you sing this so amazingly. I listen to this with my eyes closed and find so much peace in it. I have had lots of troubles in my life including when I had blood cancer, (now thankfully in remission) I listen to your music every day. Thank you for bringing light into our lives ...

To everyone whom lost someone they loved - sorry for your losses. I just lost my niece last Saturday, October 9, 2021 & now, my brother has less than 6 mos. I'm devastated & I have always loved this song (& Alan Jackson) since I was a little girl (I'm 72 years old). I have severe depression & anxiety & losing these family members is hard (my mother is 95,), which makes it even harder to deal with, but, I listen to this song & feel better. I pray for the help I need & to everyone, I hope everything will be better for you, during your difficult times. May the Good Lord Bless & Keep Us focused & strong. God Bless Alan for singing this song so well!! Take care, everyone!!
My heart goes out to you with love and understanding ❤ Hang in there to be a support to those suffering a loss and those nearing the end, to help all finish well. I too lost a niece in April of this year. Offered to sing "How Great Thou Art" at her memorial and had a rough time getting through it. Just had to do it for her. God bless you.
I Raised my children in a small town known as Reed City Michigan. If you you know the origins of this song, then you will know this town. Just out of town on a inauspiciously small rod, sits three crosses on a hill. This was the location in which this song was originally authored in the 1800's. Way back when Reed City was nothing more than a Railroad crossing in the days of Logging. This song has more than just a deep meaning to me. Ive sat where the man wrote this song. Infact, as part of the Christian school my children grew up in in that small town, myself and my children have performed this song, both with a choir, and solo, infront of that very same 3 crosses. If you are ever traveling through, I recommend first stopping into the "Old Rugged Cross Museum". Situated just off of Exit 159(I believe) on highway 131. There hours very so call ahead. And when ya go to the crosses, bring you sheet music, or better yet, your cell phone, and Alan's rendition of this song. It is that most POWERFULL thing in the universe to sit on the bach and feel the spirit move as you sing these lyrics.
Amen, ... l will cherish that old rugged Cross, Till my trophies at last l lay down... Thank you for such a blessing. Let's continue holding on my brother, sister. Let's keep the faith. Let's stand for the Word. God bless you!

With Covid messing everything up, I don't know exactly what that will be like. One way or another it will be played. In this moment, this song is making me feel so much closer to her. Thanks for your honest and sincere love towards my work,we have you to be most thankful for . 💓🙏🙏
Youll see her again one day. Me and my grandpa used to sing this song together in church when he was still here
Andrea I am so sorry for your loss. I believe your Grandmother is now in a better place-home with God.
I hope you are feeling better now
How blessed she was to have such a beautiful young lady as you for a granddaughter.
This hymn always brings me to tears. God gave His only son so we could be saved. It's the ultimate sacrifice.
Well said. Praise be to God💐
I don’t believe but there’s something deeper in this song that idea of Christianity.
❤️
This was my mom's favorite song, and when I played it for her by Alan Jackson, she started crying, it touched her heart even more.
I love this hymn it really touches me more then only God knows
His Glory shines at us in Northern Nigeria, we'll never forget His nail pierced hands, the blood that follows from Emmanuel's side...the joy that everyone enjoyed today, came from tears, from betrayal of friends and from beating and bruises.... we'll not forget the message of His cross

Alan I am watching you I love you so
O so much
This most previous Sunday, our worship was overshadowed by the condition of one of our church family.
In this world we are living in, today, .....(8/2024 .....)
That cross, & Jesus, are all we really have.
Look to Him, every minute, of every day.
❤
This was my uncle’s favourite hymn. He was a religious man who led a very simple life. May God Rest You uncle Patsy.

Playing this for my Grandma, the most selfless and wonderful lady who passed today. It was her favourite hymn. Remembered in my heart forever
🙏🏽
My mother just recently passed this month. This version was played at her funeral. I can't listen to it without tears. My grandmother's favorite hymn was also the Rugged Cross and played at her funeral. This has so many feelings of two extraordinary women who held faith in God close to their heart. My grandmother was southern Baptist and my mother Catholic. In these hymn it breaks barriers not so much as the religion matters, but the very soul the body contains. I hope to be that example to my own son. Im glad to be able to hear this song by this particular artist. It brings their memories closer to me.
Jesus is coming soon!

my great grandfather absolutely loved this song. he had a very bad illness. i'm not particularly sure what it was but it had something to do with his breathing. he always had to wear these things in his nose to help him to breathe. one night, it had stopped working. and he had to be rushed to the hospital. me and my very stressed out grandma, who had to take care of him, a 7 year old me, and her 80 year old mother and stepfather. were so worried. but he slowly got better to come back home on Hospice Care, an at home hospital care type. he had been doing pretty well for a while, but one very early morning, around 3:30 am, we had gotten a call that had said he had passed away in his sleep. we were all crying and mourning. about a month later, we had a funeral for him. we had this song playing at the very end. to this day, as a teen, still come back to this song to remember him. i loved him very much. i hope i get to see him again up there in the clouds one day.

The Bible is TRUE because the Bible SAID it’s TRUE and the Bible SAID it can’t LIE, so that makes the Bible A PROVEN FACT!
So sorry you will never meet us again!
Philippians 2:8 - And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Amen. Thank you.
Phillippians 2 : 9 - 11
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Amen
I will rejoice in the sufferings of this life since my hope for the eternal crown is bigger than my circumstances.
I'm not particularly religious but this is a beautiful song, well written and performed.
It reminds me of my late father who would always be singing this and many more songs whilst he worked.
We played it at his funeral and I find a huge amount of comfort in hearing it. Thank you.
This was my Mothers favorite hymn. We had it played at her funeral. ❤

Lyrics
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross
The emblem of suffering and shame
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross (rugged cross)
Till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown
To the old rugged cross I will ever be true
It's shame and reproach gladly bear
Then he'll call me some day to my home far away
Where his glory forever I'll share
And I'll cherish the old rugged cross (rugged cross)
Till my trophies at last I lay down
And I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown
Ms.Martha used to play this before Sunday service I was about 7 or 8 I remember. Praise God
God can use many things to speak to us. In a seemingly difficult situation I can't help but hear the voice of The Lord say "God will make a way, where there seems to be no way"
We sing this so much at my church we stick with the old southern hymns ✊
I love this song. Thank you Lord for all the things you have done for me. This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear this song.
Amen
Amen sister.

The old rugged cross....a song that never gets old. Thank you Jesus for laying your life down for a sinner like me.
This is a childhood memories song
Praise God. Grew up in a penticostal home. Received Jesus in the 7th grade
But I would sing this song and many others in the back seat of our family car ridng down the road
Just joined my Church's worship team. Our pianist suggested this song. I never heard it before. The harmonies are beautiful. Alan did a fantastic job. His vocal was on point. Lovely. I have this video on loop. It's gorgeous.
Same ❤
By His death we have eternal life. Thank you Jesus for taking my place at the cross.
AMEN.
Amen
Am here because Jesus gave me life when I thought everything was over Jesus gave me hope
Amazing grace...
Amen
Amen,
