That’s a pretty nifty setup! I have to say the window screens blew my mind! 😂 such a simple solution that I wish I had invented!!!!! Looking forward to more camping!
Thank you so much! The window screens are amazing. We've camped in the past without them and we either had a ton of bugs in the car or had extreme condensation. This time, neither of them. We then put the fan on for a gentle breeze and it was amazing. We slept better than we do at home.
6’2” and I can sleep in the back of the ascent in the same way. No need for the head support though. (Awesome video for either vehicle) Should add without moving front seats as well.
Wow! That's amazing! The Ascent definitely has more space than the Forester. We recently bought an ikamper so we'll be doing a comparison video at some point. Thank you so much for watching!
Great additions! Thanks for the links and info. I saw on another channel that if you take out the rear headrests and turn them around it supports the air mattress- that way you could save space without the cubes. I also saw a backseat bivey that could be attached. I ordered a Outback wilderness and already have most of the stuff you added in but went with the exped megmat 10. I am contemplating either the sunshade you have or the yakima roof shower tube. I might go that route and get a screen/ sunshade for the hatch. So many options, and love the videos! Just subscribed
Congrats on the new Subaru! Thank you so much for watching and subscribing. That's a great idea on flipping the headrests over to support the mattress. A bivey is also a great idea and probably a bit better on the mattress than the flipped headrests. You'll have to let us know how you like the exped megmat 10. The sunshade came in super handy during our last car camping trip in Crestone because it was so hot. It was nice to have some shade. It's also nice to have protection in case it rains - we get more use out of that than the shower tube. However, if you do get the shower tube, let us know how it goes! Yes, it's endless! We just bought some smaller camping dishwashing stuff after our trip to Glacier NP so we can make some fancier dinners haha. A daisy chain is also great for hanging things - we didn't have that at the time of this video but now do and love it. There is more that we have added and we just shot this at the end of July! Take care! We appreciate you!
Great to hear actual normal people's experiences. What do you do for internet access, or is that a faux pas. Do you sometimes do this while working, or is it mostly weekend?getaways? Do you have ice or cold drinks? What about the downtime? Maybe there is another video I should watch Anyways, really enjoy the pacing and breakup of the videos. Makes them easy to watch..
Hi! Thank you so much for watching and for commenting. Our setup is for getaways - it wouldn't support full-time on the road. While people have made Foresters work for a full-time living setup, it wouldn't be the right one for us (we're thinking more of a Tacoma or 4-Runner to be able to access more challenging roads). As for internet, we have the Google Fi Simply unlimited cell plan. For any Wifi needs, we will usually stop at a coffee shop or library if we need to connect. This setup is growing - we just bought a Jackery Explorer 1000 which would allow us to power a small portable refrigerator for the weekend. For this trip we planned foods that didn't need refrigeration (We made breakfast burritos the first morning then brought tuna cans and fruit for dinner, we also ate out once and the next day we made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for breakfast). Downtime: We spent 2 nights car-camping in Crestone, which is where we recorded this. On Saturday we visited the Ziggurat, both Stupas and had lunch in Crestone. That video will come out in about 3.5 weeks. Previously, we car camped at Twin Lakes and for downtime we played Uno, recorded a timelapse, danced, read and journaled. During the day we went into Leadville and explored around. This video shows that more in detail (it's one of our first so it's a bit rougher on filming and editing 😂 ruclips.net/video/xwZGG8AVTqk/видео.html) Sorry for the lengthy reply but I hope that helps! Thank you again for watching :)
Thank you so much for commenting! We didn't mention it because it's discontinued 🥺 it's a step by BougeRV that goes on the door latch. Sometimes we bring a small collapsible step and sometimes we stand on the tire.
Hi Daniel! Thank you so much for commenting! We're still expanding our car camping gear. For this specific trip we packed foods that wouldn't spoil like peanut butter and tuna (we didn't eat them together 😬). We had a cooler with ice packs with us for the weekend. It lasted quite well in 80-90F heat. We've been looking at possibly doing a fridge that plugs into the rear 12V socket or Jackery
Hi! If we're staying the night there, we leave them set-up outside as a little dining area. If the weather is not great, we leave them under the awning. Hope that helps!
For this one we used a cooler with ice packs and packed a lot of foods that didn't need refrigeration like Peanut butter and jelly for sandwiches, tuna, apples, etc. Since all these things are expensive to buy we didn't have a budget for a fridge/freezer but will eventually. Thank you for watching!
Hi Kristine! I'm so sorry about that. Are you talking about the Anker 5 port quicker charger (amzn.to/41Xq4Ak) and the Anker PowerCore 13000 mAh battery (a.co/d/06rqsDyO)? The PowerCore battery isn't listed, but I'll add it right after this. Thank you for pointing that out.
Nice set up. Thanks for being to the point!
Thank! Also thank you for watching and for the feedback!

Love it. So many good products. I'm excited for some winter camping with you

Pretty cool video i am wondering what is the step you put i the door to organize your roof bin

Great ideas. No mention of what they use for keeping things cool, eg fridges.

Very useful, thanks for sharing
Our pleasure David. Please let us know if there's anything else you'd like to see in a car camping setup video. Have a great day!
great, simple setup
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Where did you get that Dutch Oven from. Looks like a perfect size.
Hi! It was a gift but it's from All-Clad. I got it a long time ago, I couldn't find the exact same one online but there are variations on Amazon.
I like the pop-up toilet tent. I cannot figure out how to "squish" collapse it back to small size.
It takes a bit of practice and patience lol.
So awesome!
Thank you Benny!!
5:06 holy shit that tripped me out, great setup and fantastic editing!
Haha nice. Adam did a great job with editing that effect! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Very helpful info, thanks guys. 👍
Yay! So glad you found it helpful! Happy car camping!
This was awesome. Pros
Aww thank you! We appreciate you watching!
Where do you store the plastic table, Coleman stove and lawn chairs?
Hi! If we're staying the night there, we leave them set-up outside as a little dining area. If the weather is not great, we leave them under the awning. Hope that helps!
Yes! Love our little Subie setup
Awwwww. Agreed! It is so wonderful and cozy.
For sleeping:
How do you get in and out? Through the back of side doors?
Hey! Thank you for commenting. We usually get in and out through the rear passenger doors. We like to keep the hatch closed. Hope that helps!
We have the same initials...
🤗🤗
What about refrigeration?

New subscriber 😊
Aww thank you!
I’m not seeing the 2 anchor power packs listed here can you please tell me what they are exactly
You carry your pee around? 😂
Til we can dump it, yes. We've been at plenty of BLM spots that stink because of too much use.
