By the Emperor, it is an incredible host that you offer us, at the same time deep, distressing and emotional. May the Emperor bless you, for Krieg and The Emperor
death korps are the greatest representation of what an imperial guard is. Also they do not use swords or energy swords, NO, they use shovels. no doubt great job
i can just see it now, going through training as a tutorial, boarding the transport, sitting through a cinematic as orks invade some world youve never been to, the transport coming up on the defensive line. the transport doors open, and you immediately get stomped by an ork. roll credits. a truly authentic guardsman experience
Another fantastic composition, I can just so easily picture this picture this playing with Death Korps footage, of their absolute disregard for their own lives as they charge straight across a waste into enemy gunfire, or brutal trench combat where their robotic persistence doesn't falter for even a second as they get hit and get straight back up. How did you end up getting the lyrics and recordings for the choir too? It's bloody perfect
For the lyrics I use a sound bank called Hollywood Choirs, it has an integrated word builder in which you can, with a lot of time and patience, programmed lyrics for the choirs. I'm planning on recording a real choir for an upcoming composition about the Adepta Sororitas, but the covid situation is making this a bit difficult for the moment. For the lyrics I have used the motto of the Death Korps of Kireg "In life, war. In death, peace. Etc ..." plus some other stuff. Thanks for the support brother, since you liked the music I strongly recommend you to check the teaser for the upcoming animation series Vraks. The link is in the description !

@@LegioSymphonica Sounds excellent then man, always willing to wait for more quality stuff, and yeah, I know that feel, juggling multiple projects at one time gets overwhelming and sometimes confusing, especially when you're travelling from one work that has a particular mood to it and another that's completely different
Ngl you could visually imagine each segment of this song. the intro: Slowly fading in camera shots of Krieg troops gathering around the outer defensive lines of Vraks, hauling in artillery cannons, ammunition, digging trenches. An officer in his command bunker with his command squad, pointing to various targets detailing the assault which he was ordered. Soldiers in the trenches checking their gear like they are trained, Sentries scanning the horizon for any signs of the enemy. Second Part pans to the eyes of a random Krieg as you look through his eyes, his face masked as you hear his heavy breathing while he watches the fog rolling out as the morning sun rises on the first day of the siege, revealing an entrenched enemy directly opposite his position, lining their defenses as the music grows louder and louder, helping to emphasize the coming battle about to ensue. Commanders and squad leaders barking out orders as artillery and mortarmen prepare the opening barrage, sighting in and ranging their targets as the entire krieg line mans the trenches, men steady, patiently waiting for the order. Third Part cuts to the rage of the battle in the opening days of the siege of Vraks, both lines taking heavy tolls as artillery from both the krieg line and the inner defenses of the city fire at one another. The The Krieg overtake the fort they did not expect to become the chink in the "impervious" defense as the song ends, and slowly fades as they fortify the position, and use it as a staging point for an assault on the 2nd line of defense.
This reminds me of both the MGS Peacewalker soundtrack and the Mechanicus soundtrack. Perhaps it is no coincidence that those are my 2 favourite game soundtracks and pretty much the only ones I actually listen to as music when in the right mood
I'm a big fan of the MGS franchise, I think one of the first OST album I ever bought was the MGS 1 OST. And I love the music of Mechanicus too. @@LegioSymphonica That's awesome! How did you get talking to him? I used to write a lot of rock/metal songs, but writing things with choirs and orchestral arrangements is well fucking beyond me so I don't know how you do it lol. I've got all of the MGS soundtracks too, although I appreciate 2 and 3 more from a nostalgia perspective than actual music but MGS1 does have weirdly compelling music despite its age and format. But yeah I always get excited when I see you've dropped a new bit of music!
@@Lord_of_Dread well it was a bit of work to have his contact but I think it was easier for me since we are both french composer. I used to write a lot of metal songs too, been in a metal band for ten years or so ! Orchestral / hybrid stuff is the same as every genre, it takes a lot of time and patience to master it. I'm currently working on a doom / w40k track right know, it's good to dive again in some brutal stuff even if it's a nightmare to reach the production quality of Mike Gordon. Now that you say it, it could in deed translate in some black metal style although I'm not a big fan of that kind of metal except for Dimmu and Immortal. Yeah I agree MGS 2 and 3 are more for the nostalgia even if "Snake Eater" is in my top 3 ahah but the OST of MGS 1 is gold, Death of Sniper Wolf must be one of my favorite video game of all time and damn it was so good to hear it again in MGS 4 ! @@LegioSymphonica Ah yeah that makes a lot of sense. I hope he makes more mechanicus themed music, or even collaborates with you! That would be delicious! Why am I not surprised that you're a metalhead too lol. I guess most 40k fans are inevitably going to be into gothic and metal stuff haha. But that sounds fucking sweeeeeeeeeet! I look forward to hearing that new one! I feel your pain dude, as much as I find writing new songs fairly easy with enough time, production was always my weak point. I taught myself to play guitar, but I only ever picked up a few bits and peices on the production side. I literally wouldn't be able to get anything sounding as clean and professional as your work, all my stuff sounds like home recordings even though it was done directly from my amp to my PC. I probably needed a DAC to get better quality recordings too. Dimmu and Immortal are 2 of my favourite black metal bands lol. Dark Funeral would probably be the only other one that I think is just as good - if you haven't heard them before check out Dark Funeral - My Funeral, that was the first song I ever heard from them and it got me hooked. Even though MGS 3 is easily my favourite MGS, I never thought much of the soundtrack really. It was very jungle themed which worked in the game, but for me it made it less interesting and dynamic to listen to as actual music. I couldn't remember what death of sniper wolf sounded like until I pictured the scene in my head... Then I knew exactly what song you meant lol. The theme for psycho mantis is also really good in a similar way, fucking creepy as hell. I don't know what those sounds are, like some kind of distorted organ or something? I have massive respect for Harry Gregson Williams, I think his work is better than most hollywood espionage related soundtracks! I hope he's involved in the MGS movie (if that ever happens). You're a cool fucking dude! So much respect for you!

the first part of the song with the ticking noise and that creepy industrial background noise makes me think of a mix between the erie music of the HBO series Chernobyl and the Paschendale theme from BF1

The Siege of Vraks is where I built one of my custom factions from. A fusion of mechanicus and death korp of Krieg. Krieg infantry options, but some can take mechanicus arquebus tech, APCs with dune-crawler weapon options, modified striders called trench-hoppers, krieg modeled-stalkers fitted with power weapons and multiple attacks, that can keep fighting even after being "cut in half" on a 4+ save vs lethal damage.
@@LegioSymphonica "The Wrath of Vraks" "The Wraiths of Vraks" These are the names most imperials refer to them as. Only a handful of internal agents know who is responsible for the creation and the technology behind them. They do not teleport like the Legion of the Damned, but they do operate in situations where they can guarantee a silent infiltration, a brutal execution, and a quiet exit. Acting like injected backbones and surgical blades for auxiliary imperial forces. Some of their leaders allow for every Krieg guardsmen in sight to ignore all moral rolls and penalties from any source. Their presence giving Krieg guardsmen the hope and imagery of salvation after death made manifest in the flesh by the will of the emperor.

Another fine addition in to my collection. Emperor protect brother.
I still come back to this song with how great it is. Now having been studying latin for a while though I can't help but feel some things weren't translated properly (notably the "in Vitam" which isn't "in life" but "into life" since its the accusative case, and the use of "imperat" for conquers when it means orders) But It also makes me appreciate other elements, especially the last part with "Mors mihi lucrum" I so very often see people translate this, or claim this as "Death is my reward" But it isn't, that would have been "Mors est mea lucrum" the fact that "mihi" was used here, the dative case translating to "to me" gives off a very different meaning. "Death is my reward" is resigned, expected, and accepted It is say "The reward given to me for this is death", but "Death to me is reward" Is demanding, wishing, wanting, the person who says that has resigned themselves to death nor is saddened with death being their reward. Instead they are stating that they want death, that in their perspective, and to them, death is a reward. These implications also work in the latin: Latin has no specific word order or format, so you can play around with the order, but "Mors Mihi Lucrum" when re-ordered only becomes "to me death is reward" or "reward to me is death" meanwhile "Mors est mea lucrum" can become "My reward is death" or "my death is gain" (Lucrum actually translates to "gain" but was used like reward frequently). Point is, I'm glad that the Mors mihi lucrum was correctly translated with the right implications
Imagine if the Death Korps, the Sisters of Battle, and Lion El'Jonson are on another Crusade and all get stuck on a Daemon World and have to summon their gods to be able to leave - this is what would play when the regular humans are charging the literal Mountain of Khorne and helping the Emperor supercharge the Lion like he already did Guilliman.

Yeah I get what you mean, in a way the Kriegs were not far from being like the Vraksian when they rebelled against the Imperium and now they are one of the most implacable force of the Astra Militarum.

Dans la vie, la honte. Dans la mort, l'expiation."

Thank you and I hope this music will give you strengh and luck during your campaigns ^^

Lyrics kicks in: Holy Shit it's turned up to 12.
Amazing work. It really fits the DKoK and Siege of Vraks atmosphere.
I'm happy to read such comments brother, it always take me a lot of work to program the lyrics ! Thank you !

Great job capturing the grim feeling of 40k, as always
Ahah you know that it's just the beginning. Thanks Augure, I'm glad you like it ^^
love the way at 2:50 youve managed to make that sound that is definitely instrumental, but almost sounds like someone rhythmically breathing into a gas mask.....very Krieg. well played sir!
Blessed be thine work brother, for it brings the same feelings forth as I felt when I took part in the siege of Vraks.
The moment I saw this I had to click, vraks was the first warhammer story I consumed, I watched arch’s videos back before I knew much about him and why not to watch him.
You sir, just captured the entire mood of warhammer 40k. Congratulations. I'm subbed.
Thank you !
Mors Mihi Lucrum = Death is my/our Reward.
A perfect motto for the Death Korps of Krieg.
By the Emperor, it is an incredible host that you offer us, at the same time deep, distressing and emotional. May the Emperor bless you, for Krieg and The Emperor
I'm glad you like it brother ! For the Emperor !
death korps are the greatest representation of what an imperial guard is. Also they do not use swords or energy swords, NO, they use shovels. no doubt great job
Ad Gloriam Imperator! Thank you brother. You created something epic once again.

Why Games Workshop has not created a Imperial Guard FPS long ago is beyond me.
Well, we will have Darktide soon ! Better later than never.
So we could die in two minutes ?
@@Rrrrufus Only if you are in a penal battalion. And with your comments I think you deserve to be in one. The Emperor Protects.
i can just see it now, going through training as a tutorial, boarding the transport, sitting through a cinematic as orks invade some world youve never been to, the transport coming up on the defensive line. the transport doors open, and you immediately get stomped by an ork. roll credits.
a truly authentic guardsman experience
Brother the lyrics alone are so incredibly amazing, i cant put to words how much i have enjoyed this work of yours.
Thank you very much
GW should create a 40k movie revolving around a Guardsman regiment fighting Tyranids, or something of the like, who get reinforcements from the DKoK
I agree, something with Starship Troopers vibes would be awesome!
I thinking of a kill team series revolving around 5 kriegsmen and a ogryn
A friend is helping me with latin translation to be sure there are no mistakes.
Thanks for the support brother, since you liked the music I strongly recommend you to check the teaser for the upcoming animation series Vraks. The link is in the description !
@@LegioSymphonica Glad to hear you're taking the step to a live choir, and thanks for the info too as I might even check it out myself to play around with. Also I already checked out the trailer the hours after the release, was brilliant to find out you were composing for it, speaking of which though, I am dying to ask when Magna Tizca will eventually arrive?
@@anethosbeyond9300 the illustrations are done, Psyhogk is currently working on the animations which should be finished in about two weeks, so it should be released around March the 20th ! I'll post a little tease of the animation intro soon. As said in an another comment I know that the releases were a bit long to come, but since I'm working on a lot of other W40K projects I can't release them whenever I please and for my own compositions it takes a lot of time and money to create them. But I'm thinking of creating a new series of ambiant compositions to fill the gaps ;)
@@LegioSymphonica Sounds excellent then man, always willing to wait for more quality stuff, and yeah, I know that feel, juggling multiple projects at one time gets overwhelming and sometimes confusing, especially when you're travelling from one work that has a particular mood to it and another that's completely different
My word, the atmosphere this creates is suffocating. I love it!
I like how 40k community is growing.
That transition at the very end to your logo was dope
My man, please put this on spotify, it's amazing
Already is ;)
Well, it seems that I now know EXACTLY what to play on repeat for 8 hrs during my work days. Thank you for this!
You're welcome brother !
Oh you ... you're so gonna love the series !
This goes with that moment when Rogal Dorn its teleported to the Vengeful Spirit far from The emperor and trying to reach Him on time
Treasure 🪙. Thank you
Incredible work this soundtrack is amazing. Exactly a track I'd associate with Vraks or the Death Korps in general.
Trying to listen, but the chruch bells next to my house drown out the music. In a way this adds to the authentic imperial listening experience.
It's the sound of the Bell of Lost Souls for all the kriegers dying in this composition xD
I have the chance to discuss with Guillaume David and man how I felt proud when he complimented my music. Anyway I'm happy you like it, it means a lot to me that people from the community enjoy it. Take care !
@@LegioSymphonica That's awesome! How did you get talking to him? I used to write a lot of rock/metal songs, but writing things with choirs and orchestral arrangements is well fucking beyond me so I don't know how you do it lol. I'm kinda jealous though as that stuff translates really well to symphonic black metal like Dimmu Borgir.
Thanks again for the support man I really appreciate it !
Ad gloriam imperator mors imperat omnia, mors mihi
Litteral translation:
He orders the death of all things to the glory of the Emperor, is death to me.
Is it just me, or does this song sound a little similar to Dunkirk's soundtrack, the Mole. It's got the ticking, and the shepard tone as this music progresses. If this is true, you've done a phenomenal job with this music!
the first part of the song with the ticking noise and that creepy industrial background noise makes me think of a mix between the erie music of the HBO series Chernobyl and the Paschendale theme from BF1
I take this as a compliment, the OST of Tchernobyl and BF1 are masterpiece imo
@@LegioSymphonica by the grace of holy god emperor of mankind, you answered my text! I envy your musical talent! And yes indeed its a compliment! To mix two if my favorite things with another favorite thing (that being the Death korps) youve achieved something truly beautiful

i wish i was part of whatever epic epicness this came from but i just closed my eyes and tripped all over the multiverse for like 6 and a half mins
Amazing. Truly. You make me want to mortgage my house and buy a Death Korps army.
I love the sound of artillery shells in the morning!

KRIEG
The Siege of Vraks is where I built one of my custom factions from. A fusion of mechanicus and death korp of Krieg. Krieg infantry options, but some can take mechanicus arquebus tech, APCs with dune-crawler weapon options, modified striders called trench-hoppers, krieg modeled-stalkers fitted with power weapons and multiple attacks, that can keep fighting even after being "cut in half" on a 4+ save vs lethal damage.
Sound like an awesome idea, what is the name of your creation ?
@@LegioSymphonica "The Wrath of Vraks"
"The Wraiths of Vraks"
These are the names most imperials refer to them as. Most only recognize the heraldry of Krieg, the numbers ranks and regiments of those who died at the Siege of Vraks, given the cybernetic augmentation of mars.

Also, I sent the preatores de sanctus pella video to my music teacher at school. She described it as "scary music". I was about to go to her house and present her head to the Empire, but I decided it was best not to.

Ahah I didn't expect that Praetores de Sanctus Pella could be considered as "scary music" (wait until I release something about warp stuff or the Night Lords) but hey it's cool that my music triggered something even if it's fear. Art is meant to be shared and even if someone find my music ugly or scary I think it's cool, because it has triggered something. The worst case would be to have no reaction at all ^^

captures the grimness perfectly
