- Yes, there's a GIANT Godzilla statue on this Japanese Island and you can zipline into his mouth! Not only that, we got to experience a real-life RPG game and even the most terrifying obstacle course ever!

All this time I was thinking, "Who comes up with these things?!" Congratulations to you and especially Mr. Eats, who confronted his fears by staying on the ground with the camera.
I am terrified of heights. I can't even get on the second rung of a ladder, my body literally locks up on me. I am so proud of you for doing that rope course challenge! You're amazing!

While you were not expecting an impromptu aversion therapy, that obstacle course is definitely a good way to confront a fear of heights in a controlled and relatively safe way, so good on you for getting out of your literal comfort zone.
Nice! I was just in Awaji with my family in the summer. We didn’t visit the “Anime Park” (the area where Godzilla is) but now I kind of wish we had. Well anyway, Godzilla aside I was really impressed just how many fun locations there are packed into that (relatively obscure) island. Excellent spot for a low-key family vacation. (If anyone is planning on heading that way, I’d be happy to offer suggestions!)
So where do you recommend?
@@DoctorEbot personally, I was impressed with Yumebutai and the “Water Temple”, both designed by the famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando (and not far from where Godzilla ‘lives’). My wife and daughter especially liked Fukura, a fishing town in South Awaji and the whirlpool cruise there. There are a lot of other cool places too…if you’re interested, check out a video I made on the topic. 🍻

I really like the Dragon Quest games, so I'd LOVE to play the real world version. Those statues of the monsters looked excellent. Did you know that Akira Toriyama, the man behind Dragonball and Dr. Slump, designed the monsters and characters in Dragon Quest. How cool is that!

The part that would freak me out is when you have to detach and then reattach the safety line. That's when you could really fall and hurt yourself. Mrs. Eats, I thought you were really brave! My biggest nightmare would be the Plank Walk at Mount Huashan. That thing is so scary, they'd have to come get my cold dead body after I refused to move another inch. They can't come up and rescue you at all. You're on your own.

that first ride when you said something like "i just thought of something". my thought was "that King Kong was male, and by the looks of that ride maybe they weren't fighting that entire time"

Nijigen no mori was really cool! I wish I had more time to check out all the attractions there, when I visited Japan in April. Only had time to do everything Godzilla, eat, and then get back to Osaka… renting a car for the day didn’t really work out for me… mistakes were made. Next time I’m just going to take the train and park bus!

Way to go, Mrs. Eats! I am also really afraid of heights, so I related a lot to your predicament! I’ve done one of those sadistic, up in the air obstacle courses and it was the scariest thing I’d ever attempted. I ended up doing the leap of faith, which for me, was more like the crying, terrified, barely inched off the platform, “leap” of no faith. But still, I was embarrassed and proud that I got through it. I found myself cheering you on with many cries of “ganbatte, Mrs. Eats!” Another great video! The Godzilla zip line looks amazing and terrifying!

So brave! More than once I have had to be rescued when my fear of heights kicks in. Then I am embarrassed too, not only scared. But I hope if I keep trying, one day my big fear will be gone, maybe just a little nervousness left.
Hawaii has a nice zip line system on a ranch used by movie studios which you control speed. They filmed Jurassic park and part of king Kong there. It’s mostly for the stunning views you do that.
Orlando has several zip lines but my favorite is Gatorland with the zip line over the main alligator pond. Don’t worry the alligators are fed before you go through and all of them are harmless due to them being primarily fish and deer specialists. Humans are only on the menu if you’re already dead because they are scavengers but won’t attack humans outright unless they are nesting.
You did great Mrs Eats! You made it through the whole obstacle course! Mrs Eats you are my new favorite action hero!.
That Godzilla is ok just to kaiju fans it’s a later rendition of him. I think the life size gundam animatronic is near there too. But honestly the kaiju park is just three attractions, a zip line, a shooting game, and a simulator ride. It needs more. I grew up in a city with lots of attractions, yes I grew up in Orlando. Just there’s so much to do here Disney, universal, so many water parks, independent attractions, Merlin entertainment attractions, Busch gardens, sea world. It’s like everything is here already and easily accessible. Sometimes you need more to make something work.
Why was the mouth blacked out on the zip ride?

My first time on a zip line was about thirty years ago.
It was a home brew that we made using 1¼” [4 cm] sisal (natural plant fiber rope.)
We rigged sit harness’ with ¼” sisal and used a pulley block for the roller.
This is how teenagers entertained themselves before wireless Internet on smartphones.

Dragon Quest Island was the highlight of my trip to Japan. It was my Disneyland.

We currently have Godzilla: Minus One playing in the theaters here. It is so successful it has been held over for a third week when it was supposed to only be here for five days! GO JAPAN!
As for taking the children's path you did well. Now you know that fear is only an obstacle to overcome. Nothing more. That's why I loved jumping out of airplanes! I was never afraid from the first jump onward! I'll be you could do that if you wanted! (Evil grin on my face!)
By the way, that children's path was not even close to the first week in basic training! LOL You now have to go back and beat all of the levels! LOL
