    Very nice actually!! I think it’s funny drummers care about the stamped logo. I’d personally choose a polished cymbal over a faded logo

      Exactly! Besides, most cymbals have embossed tag and label in the cymbals.

    Another thing that really helps make polishing a little easier and quicker is try using a pair of wrangle jeans and cut a piece of it off and use the denim from the jeans to help polish and at the end clean with some 99% isopropyl alcohol to remove any leftover polish residue.

    Just read MIKE SCHUMACHER's comment that SC Johnson stopped making Pledge Metal Polish. I saw that you still have a link posted to buy a bottle, so I clicked it. WTF!? ... 215.18 for a bottle??!! Oh wait... that's in pesos... so, about USD 4.27. Not bad. LOL. SC Johnson was selling the same formula under the their Kiwi brand, but it looks like that has been discontinued as well. Thanks for the video.

    Does this cleaning procedure affects the sound quality of cymbals?

    • @BuildRestoreRepair

      With this certain zildjian model it didn’t. Though it might affect the sound on other thinner models.

      I cleaned a severely tarnished/green spotted Zildjian 18 inch crash and it sounded much better. A lot of people say they sound better with the patina, but not in this case. I actually chose this cymbal to clean because it sounded so bad that I didnt have anything to lose. Now that it is clean, it sounds great. A keeper.

    I got new cymbals im just trying to keep them clean. Is clorox wipes or glass cleaner good just to keep finger prints off?

    • @BuildRestoreRepair
      @BuildRestoreRepair  2 года назад +1

      I’m not really sure regarding those products.. I would go with specific cymbal cleaners if you have the budget. But for sure there are alternatives.. in my case I had to use a metal polishing agent to clean my very dirty cymbals.

      Why do we care about the logos? Do we require the public to know what brands we prefer or is it, we need to advertise these brands because if not, they might go out of business?

    • @brentclary4267
      @brentclary4267 Год назад

      @@thomastucker5686 it is neither! It's matter of preference and presentation. I just like the look of a new cymbal. The logo is part of that look. I think the look compliments a nice clean set on a stage. I take care of my stuff home, cars, bikes,etc.and want it to look good. It's about sound and presentation. I take pride in both!

      Hi! Thanks for watching my video! Cleaning your cymbals will really depend on your preference. If you always want it shinning then you might have to clean your cymbals regularly. Otherwise you can just leave it be cause it doesnt really affect the sound that much.
