Hm, anybody have any idea how to do this on a 2011 scirocco? This doesn't seem to work, it sets the setting to "Not found" and disables the drl, meaning I assume that the platforms are different
Hey bud, my friend is driving a 2010 VW golf TDI, when I plug my VCDS in and go to BYTE 18 it does not allow me to edit the binary code how do I get my VCDS to allow me to edit the binary through long coding or is there another place I can edit it?

this is different on my 2010 gti. There is no binary to change & a warning is in red not to make any changes! Any advice?

This video is now useless, VCDS updated in 2012 and you canno longer edit byte 18 as shown on this video. Now you need to copy and paste the long code (dont click long code helper) into the new coding box then change the byte 18 digits (normally 00) to 15 and click do it. Tried and tested.

do you have it working? binari box is not on vcds 15.7.0 only the drop donw menu. Can you help?

And also if you change city Amber lights to 95% it flags a corner light out.
I do have this bulb error on my golf plus 2005 after installing LED reg plates lights but when put the old bulbs back this error is still o the dashboard ...

Just a heads up, this did not work on my MK6 2011 GTI with Xenon lights. Its north american and not european.

Newest VCDS has long coding for byte 18 no need to enter binary any more which removes a lot of the risk of bricking your BCM when screwing the codes up.

Can I code to turn the fog light warning light off? I have LED fogs. Also, I did the side marker delete in the bumper, Can I turn those off instead of having the bulbs installed and just dangling there?

no, you are basically telling the car to ignore and just power the socket like in old cars

I already replaced all the halogen bulbs with LED bulbs.
All work fantastic.
Just get an error on the dashboard screen.
I also have VCDS, I also succeeded in going to the binary code change page on byte 18.
Now, the binary code is set to 0000000
I see you have changed it to something like this 0000100010, or something that I will choose randomly.
What do you think? Can I do the same binary code as you did?
Or it must be special and unique code for my yeti ?
If it must be a unique code, do you know where can I get it?

This is not possible. You disable the errurr cold but when you start the car hot mistake come back. Must be modified in the eprom but not with vcds
