I am one of the owner of Freed E7. I drove both Jazz and Vezel on previous occasion. I shall give an unbiased comment about this car after driving for 2 months. I feel that this is a basic car that can delivery up to 7 people at one go. It will be good for domestic usage such as for work, school and occasionally to JB. What I like this car is that it has an automotive sliding door (both sides) and you don't have to worry to hit the car beside you especially when you have kids try to open the door by themselves. In term of power, it is more powerful than Jazz and equivalent to Vezel. I think they are using the same 1.5L engines (for Jazz, Vezel and Freed). I do agree with other reviewers that this Freed is lack of some safety features such as full air bags (only 2 air bags for E7) and sensing mode. However, if you can get the same price as AD from PI and get additional safety feature, why not. Otherwise it is a good car to drive consider it has a large rear boot compartment and the primary feature is that you can sit up to 7 people. *As compare with Apple to Apple (Cat A), I did tried Toyota Sienta. It is not as comfortable as the Freed so I give it a pass.
For that pricing or lesser, I'll go with the PI version, it comes with everything that a Honda Freed suppose to offer not a cut-off version by Kah Motors. And For those who saying why not a Hybrid? Unfortunately, the Freed Hybrid falls into CAT-B COE because of its higher BHP and Torque. You can buy a Sienta Hybrid for CAT-A but not as powerful as a Honda Freed Hybrid. Even a Petrol Freed is much more powerful than Toyota Sienta because it's a Honda.
13s century sprint with 129bhp and 155nm? If I’m not wrong the Sienta Hybrid only has 114bhp and 120nm and does it in 12.5s… Not to mention the Freed’s rear drum brakes vs the Sienta’s rear disc brakes as well
These numbers don't matter if they are more than 10 secs. The average buyer of these cars aren't concern with these figures. It's the real world driving and FC that they would be more concern with.
The official model sold in Singapore is the Jazz, while the Fit is the parallel import. Both are available to find in Singapore. The Freed is built on the same platform, so yes! - Jay
I was really looking forward to the Freed, but I think Kah Motor really failed with this one. 1) same price as Hybrid Sienta, but this is not Hybrid. Wtf? 2) People buy MPVs like these to ferry their children, but only 2 airbags in the front? Behind kids no need airbag meh? Sienta is airbag all around the car, Double wtf when you think about the target customers for Freed. 3) No Honda Sensing. Same thing, I ferry kids means I want safety. Honda Sensing is removed, but yet selling at same price as Sienta that comes with Safety Sensing. Triple wtf. Complete fail when you compare to Sienta. Don't even need to think, Hybrid Sienta is a sure win over this Kah Motor Petrol Freed already. Price fail. Features fail. Safety fail. Should call this Honda Fail instead.
