It seems tamiya have taken an economic approach to manufacturing, which is more than a disappointment, borderline tragedy, they historically produced wonderful engineered models, not cheap but you did get, more or less value for money and felt they actually cared.. What has happened, hopefully they do watch and listen to down to earth reviews and you can have an input.. Let's hope so, I so liked the look of that Scania on paper.. Come on Tamiya, get a grip, with screws, NOT glue.. There is some competition,.. Thanks as always for taking the time and sharing.

The amount of glue cost more then the kit 🤣😂 But it looks really good and even better with the curtain side trailer behind.

It's nice to hear a honest review , it's a nice truck , I think they should update the steering and gearbox and suspension from the old units , and it surely makes more sense for all the painted can parts to be screwed in rather than glued , I also don't like how the grill has holes in it , it's also missing some details like axle covers , sussies and a decent tail , also they really should update the sound chips to sound like a Scania V8 , not a L6 , anyway it's all good .

Brilliant review👍 I've built mine on a 4x2 chassis and removed the stock battery tray. Plus added a ton of 3rd party extras. But its a real shame about all the parts that need to be glued on. I hate using glue.

Nice truck . I’ve also completed a 770s but haven’t any issues with the hinged side panel. It opens all the way without rubbing or dropping . Could the alloy chassis plate be causing it ?

Holy shyte, I read the PDF of the Manual, but i had no scooby that it is that bad.
I'm building a Next gen R (welll 2 ) for quite some time before tamiya brought the S on the market,
I was pure furious when I saw that but now... at Least I have easy acces for aftermarket stuff for it from the S
But my Cab weighs as much as the fully build S, it's a Resin cab I have tae glue a lot too (because Resin) but my visor is boltet by 2 micro screws from H0 railroading, from the side,
the Front, side, roof is all one piece, the step, Fenders, front bumper, head lights and the grill are sepperate.
I have tae paint behind my Grill because mine is a photo eched piece and ye would see the backround so it's flat black painted behind.
I think it's a Fraud that they dinnea put a V8 sound on the MFC,
and the Light layout is pure completely utter shyte,
that they dinnea come on the conclusion tae put a distribution board on for all the lights, 1 plug in the MFC form the board and ye saved 4 plugs on the MFC (that annoys me for about 16 year)
and they are not even prototypical ,if ye know how the real is lightend ye know.
