Just got my Carbon Edition last thursday. Amazing car. The ride is smooth and quiet. You have lots of power when you need it and the car is just beatiful.
Thanks for this I ordered a 22 Mazda 3 in this platinum quartz metallic and I wanted to see the new taillights in action! Makes me more excited to pick up my new car!
@Zero picked mine up recently and the weather has been utterly horrible (I appreciate that I got AWD) the car got coated in salt on the hwy during drive home, I love the new colour. Although you really couldn't go wrong, all the Mazda3 colour options are nice, this is one of the best ones. I'm sure you'll love it too.
I got this beauty just a few days before you posted this. 13 on the odo new, about 700 now, and every mile has been a blast. Haven't used SPORT mode yet. Saving that for a road where she can really let her wheels roll. Great video.
I actually saw this color in person the other day and i was blown away! It made me want this car so bad! Unfortunately, I already have mazda 3 and am looking to buy the new cx 50 instead
Lovely review. I really enjoy this color... It looks so elegant, sporty and honestly, luxurious. Happy to hear the driving dynamics keep getting better and better as well 😁.
Great review , Mazda really does a great job on interior & exterior,What a great color . Still going to wait for the new Mazda 6 to come out before making my decision.
From what I’m hearing there will be a Mazda 6 , who knows maybe a new name but they would crazy to discontinue sedans are still selling at high numbers.
Great review Jadon, lots of details. Thanks for posting. If you get your hands on a Premium-trim 6M, a review & driving impressions would be really interesting too. Same color of course...
got a 2021 Mazda3 sedan Turbo PP last summer, and I'm in love the car from the driving experience to the infotainment center i really have no complaints so far with the car... i mean it could be a little better with gas mileage or could be more space in the backseat but it's more or less "nitpicking" at this point
@@Scuba_steve0487 the turbo model is awd. It has a rear differential that powers the rear wheels. Some 21 turbo owners were having major problems with their rear differentials
@@E99584 ohhhh ok … yea since I’ve had the car since last summer I haven’t had any flaws with the rear differential. Maybe cause I mostly just drive it to work and back home which is only a 15 min commute. I haven’t really driven it that rough yet.
I have a 2020 mazda3 hatch premium with the same appearance stuff that the premium plus does, and I have to say, I really don’t like the *dimming blinkers* on the 2022. The cx-30 has had this since launch and I like the on/off no dimming LEDs, I think it looks more modern since a lot of cars don’t have LED turn signals still. The instant on and off just seems more modern, and the dimming seems more old school imitation of traditional bulbs. But that’s just me I guess, maybe not.
Amazing and very detailed review, was thinking of getting this car as my first since it seems to be very safe and driver friendly, I now know what I gotta do :)
Wow great review. Nice and simple. Got a 2019 premium HB in red . Still a hoot to drive. I share your viewpoints exactly. Why these cars aren't selling a lot more beats me 🤔. I like the color but would still go for the white with of course the black wheels. Nice job
Such a beautiful car. I’ve got the ‘21 Premium Plus. They need to add some more features, especially for a top trim. Cooled seats, rear heated seats, rear climate controls, power adjustable front passenger seat, maybe a bigger sunroof. Also a better 7/8/9-speed transmission. The current 6-speed is definitely very reliable but it’s not performance orientated. This car pushes out 250HP/320TRQ, but the transmission holds it back. With a proper DCT transmission this could be a high 4 second or low 5 second 0-60 car.
True, the Australian version gets some ventilation ducts in the rear of the center console, it would of been nice to see those elsewhere. And ventilated seats would be nice mine you the perforations in the leather are better than nothing and add some breathability. I noticed the sunroof is a little small compared to my last car. The transmission could be better but I'm not complaining, I do like it for what it is and the price. I also like that they put a heated steering wheel in all but the base trims here in Canada but the heated wiper/de-icer only came on top trim specced 3's like mine. Whereas all but the base corollas get heated wipers.
What people dont realize is that this is a Mazda 3. A few years ago it was an affordable, economy car with a little 4 banger in it.So what theyve done is take that car category to the highest level. What youre wanting is Mazda 6 territory.
Stellar video! Steinway could have built a piano with all the gloss black. That's the only thing I dislike about the interior. I think I also prefer the sedan. This hatch looks like what a Ford pinto would have grown up to be. Don't get me wrong, Mazdas are great cars. It was a coin flip last May when we got a new car.
Nice design. But, I was hoping they would mount the front plate below the grill. It is was it is. I'm leaning towards the Hatch and like it that you can lower the lower the back seats from the interior.
Seriously considering a CPO 2020 or New 2023 Mazda3 sedan wither premier or select. I am so hung up on the Torsion beam rear axle on whether it will have a poor ride as roads in NJ can sometimes be poor. What is your experience on the ride with the rear design and overall firmness, bump handling with the 45 series tires. Appreciate your feedback.
00:37 make sure when you pick it up at the dealer take a look to it, mine came already crashed, plus many scratches to the clear coat (seems the guy who washed at the dealer use a microfiber cloth plenty of sand or even rocks) of course they don't care at all.
Shame to moan but that sound quality was really poor due to the wind, could you maybe cover the camera a bit to shield it next time? other than that a nice professional job, I wish we got the turbo here in the UK I have the e skyactiv x 2.0L 186ps that has been developed for good economy and emission's still goes well, though with gas prices what they are there that doesn't matter so much it's $9 a gallon here.
Hi, just a quick question, does 2022 3s still come with red leather interior (saw some posts saying that the dashboard is no longer red, and only the seats will be in red)
The Mazda3 is the second most sold vehicle in Mazda’s lineup currently right behind the CX-5. So I think it’s safe to say it will stick around for a while.
Jadon At Mazda I have a couple question for you please. Does this specific car support "87" gas or is it only for "91" gas use only? Also, regular synthetic oil change work for this car? Thanks.
Ian! This car is optimized for 91 on this turbo engine, however using 87 wont hurt the engine at all! You will sacrifice some power though. Synthetic oil is recommended as well.
These tires cost a fortune for what they are. I wish Mazda would just use a 225 series. First thing I've always done with my Mazda 3's was to switch out the tires.
I have the 2021 Mazda 3 hatch and I love it but I do have to say there really isnt much of a difference at all maybe besides the tail lights and the color lol.....
Fantastic review, but be sure to plan your routes better when demonstrating it's cornering capabilities with spirited driving. Saw a few blind intersections that you blasted through that were obscured by turns or hills. Even though you had right of way, had someone been making that turn, they wouldn't see you and then there would be an accident.
Much rather this over a Corolla. Corollas are excellent cars no doubt, but they’re too mainstream and are really for people who are not into cars. Mazda3 has shaped up significantly. I’d buy this Premium package in a heartbeat. Shame most early 20 years don’t buy this gem.

The Mazda3 is a bit of a firmer ride, that was designed to be a bit more sporty compared to your average sedan or hatch. It’s a trade off.
I love the way this car looks from every angle except... the 3/4 rear. It's just got too much shoulder on the back.
