I have several sets of those tea towels and they were all embroidered by either my great-grandmother (I was lucky enough to know her growing up) or my Nana who is 95 years old and still going strong. I treasure those towels, especially now that my great-grandmother has passed (I inherited many of her handsewn aprons, too). It's almost like having her in the kitchen with me!

It's just my husband and I at home so we get to eat off of it for a few days, but when my son comes over with his family, everyone cleans their plates and empties my casserole dish. I do something similar, but I cube the chicken into 2” inch pieces and cook it at 350 for 35 - 40 minutes. It’s good with a side dish of broccoli with a nice squeeze of lemon on it.

My momma made a version of this casserole. She would Pam the pan, add in the traditional Uncle Ben's rice, then chicken drumsticks and thighs, top it with the soup, and top it all with the water. No cheese or onion or Butter! 🤦♀️ Boy, it was tasty! 😋🤤 I bet your additional items make it extra yummy and savory!! 🥰 You're much too young to call yourself old!! 😍 Age is a state of mind!! 😉🫂
My grandmother made the best cinnamon rolls and maple bars. Heavy and dense, not like the fluffy and cake like crap they make now days. I believe she used potato starch as part of her ingredient. So yummy out of the oven ❤😂

Oh my gosh your stories take me back to the 50's-60's growing up in rural Minnesota and the head cook in my elementary school! 😋 Back then, everything was home-made, even the mashed potatoes, gravy, soups, casseroles, sandwich fillings, desserts, rolls, etc... I was always half-starved by the time lunch time arrived and I looked forward to every school day and the amazing food! I don't consider the lunces they serve now as nutritious as back then. When I was a fifth grader my mother let me buy a cake brownie (5 cents) in the lunchroom because it was “Red Letter Day.” Red Letter Day was if you ate that brownie and the wax paper doily had a RED R printed hiding on the bottom of the brownie, you got to get another brownie! We never got chocolate at my house, there were six of us kids! Well, that day I got a Red R and got to get another brownie!! After 60+ years I still get a thrill out of that.💕 Thank you❤

A neighbor cooked something like this for us after my father passed away. She got the rice at Sam's Club, it was in like a plastic jug type of container. It was delicious and I'm glad I found this. I live your recipes. It's the way I was taught to cook by my mother and father.
I use ny tea towels to dry the dishes. I have vintage ones that I got at flea market in Germany. Some are French and Italian. I love them. Some are vacation ones from here in the states.

I made this, it is delicious. I did one thing differently, I used chicken tenders and dipped them in the onion soup before putting on top and covering with Fried Onions. A definite keeper!

Love this lady!! I would change the canned soups to less salt or no salt because the onion soup mix is salty and so is the wild rice. A bit salty meal so I know next time to change the recipe to make that adjust!!

I made this at the house recently and it was a hit with me and my kids. You remind me of both of my grandmothers who are excellent cooks, and I miss them every day what’s a treasure to have you all under RUclips? When will your next cookbook be available as I will be in line to get it immediately?
Only suggestions I would make is- use chicken tenders or cut the thick chicken breasts in half or butterfly them. And if you have to lower sodium intake, use low sodium soups and omit that packet that came with the rice (Lipton onion soup packet has high sodium so just use onion powder) and use your own seasonings- like fresh herbs. Add any liked veggie as well. Cook 50 minutes, take off foil and cook for 10 more minutes.
Even though I do not eat ANY processed foods, I just know that tastes like a 5 star restaurant! I cook entire from scratch and farm to table as possible. Shinin’ for Jesus ya’ll!

I did the simple macaroni salad and it really took me back. Nothing fancy but absolutely delicious and we both loved it.

By all means, make it your own.
I make something similar but cut the chicken up, pan sear it before adding in. I also include a can of green beans. I try to use low or no salt soups

Only suggestions I would make is- use chicken tenders or cut the thick chicken breasts in half or butterfly them. And if you have to lower sodium intake, use low sodium soups and omit that packet that came with the rice (Lipton onion soup packet has high sodium so just use onion powder) and use your own seasonings- like fresh herbs. Add any liked veggie as well. Cook 50 minutes, take off foil and cook for 10 more minutes.

Even though I do not eat ANY processed foods, I just know that tastes like a 5 star restaurant! I cook entire from scratch and farm to table as possible. Shinin’ for Jesus ya’ll!
