Hi Brad, I know u may not like Carly Rae Jepsen because of 'Call me maybe' or the less iconic stuff she did in the beginning of her carrer, but even if you don't publish a reaction, I recommend you to listen to 'E•MO•TION' and 'Dedicated' at least on your own time... they are iconic albums, they really are.

This was the album of the year for me, it's just so good.
Btw she's got a new song out now called Bunny Is a Rider, is the first single for her second album coming soon... The song is great, is a grower, is existencial, is experimental, is just so good. You should also check her work as Chairlift, is also very good

I saw an online theory of this album on RUclips a few days ago which said that, if you listen to this album backwards, it basically tells the story of Caroline moving to LA to pursue her music career wherein her long distance relationship falters and eventually comes to an end.
*EDIT:* To add a bit more context, basically, Caroline has mentioned before that Parachute is based on a dream she had where she jumped out of a plane down to LA that encouraged her to move to LA to make music, and in the music video to Door (a song that comes right before Parachute in the album) there’s a parachute hitting the ground in the beginning of the video as though she just landed with a parachute like in her song Parachute.

aa she's amazing. Like, her whole concepts in her discography and visuals on music videos and covers, definitely one of the best albums from 2019. For real, I had eargasms when I listenided to this one with headphones (big eyes is a skip for me lol)
she actually is a classically trained singer!! her voice is incredible
1. AG and Danny are production masterminds. Listen to their huge catalog, it’s full of mind-blowing, next level ideas.
2. If you’ve not gone down the road of Chairlift yet, by all means do. They’re all great and their last album, Moth, was such a precursor to her solo work. You are spot on in saying she’s underrated, by far one of the most talented vocalists perry@.

Omg I just listened to this album for the first time earlier this year. I was and still am SHOOKETH by it lol. So unique production wise, so well written lyrically, and then those unbelievable vocals...yes please haha

Ocean of tears and door are my fave songs on the album 🥰
The track "Door" is about her man letting her in she's says "you open the door to another door" etc there are just layers and layers to you your letting me see "and I'm running through to you" and in the earlier track she said "IM opening the door and your running through" meaning She let him in and he wasn't but now she's found someone who opens up just as much as she does and "Door" celebrates that. This PANG relationship that is really equal

My favourite songs are pang, so hot you're hurting my feelings, look at me now, ocean of tears, door, and go as a dream. I also love her song breathless but this isn't on the album.
I think Breathless pretty much fits the theme of Pang. Even the visuals. It'd be a Deluxe track for sure
