@@TechKnowArslaan you are correct, however I think sir meant groups that can be a terminal functional group, -OH isnt always a terminal group, but can be like in sir's example above.
Sir I am a zoology honours student but we have to study chemistry also , my chemistry is weak because of lockdown could you please help me with my doubts
Hi, Mitali! We talk metamerism only for compounds with non-terminal functional groups. Position isomerism can also be displayed by compounds that do NOT have a functional group. Example: 2-methyl pentane and 3-methyl pentane.
No Aditesh. Metamerism is related to the number of c atoms on both sides of functional group. Position isomerism can also be shown if the position of a substituent(not the main functional group) is different.
No, the formulas represent the same compound. They are just written in reverse. When in doubt, try writing the IUPAC name of the compounds. If the name is the same, they represent the same compound.
Thanks a lot. U removed my confusions regarding this. Subscribed
This really helped me a lot. Thank you!!!
hi
OH is not terminal!
Awesome!! You help me understand the concept easily. Keep making these amazing videos 👌👌
Does 1-butene and 2-butene show metamarism.
Sir why alkenes and alkynes donot show metamarism??
OMG I didn't understand it first but now I know what to do.. Thank you so much ❤🔥
Thanks for making this video, it helped with my revision :)
You are welcome! :-)
Thank you sir. Are you gratest teacher
Aren’t 3-pentanone and 2-pentanone positional isomer!?
Why They are metamers ?🧐
This is really nice.. very simple and easy to understand
Why the students are mad that they not subscribe to this channel for there future
Really good sir 😊
Don't react to foolish questions..
U have done a really good job!!😊😊😊
1:23 Sir -OH Group is not a terminating functional group.
It cannot terminate the carbon chain
It's terminal, not terminating
@@wasifahmer2714 Book me dekh lena 😂 or vese bhi dono ka meaning same hi h zyada intelligent mat bano 😂😂
It is the concept of monovalent -OH,-SH and divalent -O- ,-S-,-c"-R, -NH-

Helpful video
Thank you
Thank you !!!
This has helped me a lot
Sir these examples are of position isomerism too..
Am I right??
Yess
Best 👍
Crystal clear😉 ... Thank you so much❤️
Thank u for making me understand
Thank u so much sir❤️
Defination is wrong because methyl propyl ether and methyl isopropyl ether also metamers
but sir this is also position isomers than what is the difference

Superb lecture sir
Crystal clear sir thank u so much sir 🙂
Thank you sir aapne bahut hee aache se define kiya
Why this is not positional isomerism
It shows P.I also
Thanks it helps me a lot
5:53 can it show functional isomerism?..I mean it has a keto group and ketones and aldehydes can show functional isomerism right?
Yes
@@kurmalayamini5590 thanks mate
Sir can we say that it is a special case of positional isomers ?
No Aditesh. Metamerism is related to the number of c atoms on both sides of functional group. Position isomerism can also be shown if the position of a substituent(not the main functional group) is different.
@@IITJEEChemistryCourse thx sir it helped me
It's basically means ke dono side carbon ki chain ho
Sir what about ester, amine and amide?
Too good 👌👌👌
thank you
Sir which software you use ?
nice!!!!!!!!
Thanku so much
this really helped me
Helpful thank u subscribed 👍❣️
Thanks a lot sir 😊
Thank you sir.
This is the better explanation than any books for metamerism
Super ji
Your awesome sir
Thank you very very much sir😄
It is also position isomerism . Isn't it?
Yup
srry it isn't
No
It ain't
No
Thanks a lot
Thanks a lot Sir..Was really helpfull
Thankyou for nice explanation
Wonderful explanation
Very nice explanation sir!

Nice explanation
Thanks sir
I have ended up to this video, looking up for an optical metamerism video.... LOL
Well, not what I was looking for, but overall a nice try :)
Thank you sir it's really helpful 😀😀😀
Sir very nice
thank you sir
Welcome to metamerism....
Thanku
Thank you
thank you, sir
Thanks a lot!
Sir defination kaise likhege
Metamerism arises due to different alkyl chains on either side of the functional group in a molecule...Hope this helped you☺️
❤️
thank you very very much sir
You are welcome :) Keep on learning!
well explained...thank u :)
Tq love
Thanks so much sir
nice!!!!
Nice
Thank u sir
Tnx....A lot
Thanks Brother !!
Ur looking so cute
🙏😌
Sir do CH3-O-CH2-CH3 & CH3-CH2-O-CH3 show metamerism

@@IITJEEChemistryCourse ohk thanku sir for clearing my doubt
@@IITJEEChemistryCourse sir plz tell the how propanoic acid & methyl acetate are functional isomers.
@@SeemaGupta-ct9bl They have the same formula but different functional groups - one is acid and another is ester. So, they are functional isomers.

hindi yet nhi ka beeee
Ketones don't show metamerism😡😡
Where in the video have I said that? After discussing the ketone, I took the example of an acid which does not show metamerism.

Rahul Jindal Ketones do show metamerism
Are you gonna mad ketones show metamerism. Like C5H10O
👌 super bro I had Also same doubt
هوا اني مافهمت كويس لكن مرسييي .
