    1:23 Sir -OH Group is not a terminating functional group.
    It cannot terminate the carbon chain

      It is the concept of monovalent -OH,-SH and divalent -O- ,-S-,-c"-R, -NH-

      @@TechKnowArslaan you are correct, however I think sir meant groups that can be a terminal functional group, -OH isnt always a terminal group, but can be like in sir's example above.

      Hi, Mitali! We talk metamerism only for compounds with non-terminal functional groups. Position isomerism can also be displayed by compounds that do NOT have a functional group. Example: 2-methyl pentane and 3-methyl pentane.

      No Aditesh. Metamerism is related to the number of c atoms on both sides of functional group. Position isomerism can also be shown if the position of a substituent(not the main functional group) is different.

      Metamerism arises due to different alkyl chains on either side of the functional group in a molecule...Hope this helped you☺️

      No, the formulas represent the same compound. They are just written in reverse. When in doubt, try writing the IUPAC name of the compounds. If the name is the same, they represent the same compound.
