    This lesson covers the area of a triangle. Students learn that the formula for the area of a triangle is 1/2 times base times height, so the area of a triangle that has a base of 9 meters and a height of 4 meters is 1/2 times 9 times 4, or 1/2 times 36, or 18 square meters.

    Of the 181 comments, only one other person noticed a flaw in this triangle.
    You can have a 18, 10, 14 triangle, but the height will not be 8.
    However, the basic lesson is good.

    I do it a bit different I do B•H / 2 b x h over 2
    18 • 8 = 144 then I divide the 144 by 2 the bigger number inside and the 2 outside
    2/144 which gives me 72in²

    A=((P^2)*sin(x)*sin(y)*sin(z))/(2*(sin(x)+sin(y)+sin(z))^2)
    where A is the area of triangle, P is the perimeter and x,y,z are the 3 angles of the triangle.
    This equation works for all triangles.
    Please check video on my channel for derivation of this formula.

      That would be true if this was a right triangle, but it is not.
      That is why she used the height.
      Although I did find a flaw in her triangle, the basic concept here is good.
