Drop d is one of my favorite alternate tunings. I still remember hearing this tuning on songs in the 70’s and loving it. Once I learned it and other alternate tunings, it was a huge jump forward for me in guitar playing, it revealed so many new possibilities to me. Thanks for sharing Roberto!

I don't mind the sound of DD, but when we/you/I am at a guitar jam, and we get to a person who suddenly says, "This song is in drop D," a collective moan settles in the room because nobody else can play it unless they quickly start turning keys. If the player decides to explain it and show the tuning method, then there goes 5 more minutes before the song starts. Argh! However, as stated, I don't mind DD, but for jams, it's a Drop D Drag! Wahi' Valleys
