Have had mine for about 2 years yours was a Saturday job after a drunken Friday night my axles and drive shafts are still as good as the day I bought them I have swapped the link connections on axles out my drive shafts are still OK I have swapped the shocks as they are to tall have 80mm on them and I have swapped the rear shocks for the upgraded custom part still have 80mm on back just no springs as of the shock spring upgrade on it have used mine to bits over the years still going good nice review
Great video I found issues to but tried to solve them but interesting information about the drive shaft upgrade, & helical gears. I threw shocks away rubbish
Awesome video excellent job wow that thing must have been the crash dummy sent out by accident good thing it didn’t go to someone who’s not familiar with rc’s
Well this is really disappointing. I have recently bought a D90 chassis without shocks or wheels to build an RC4WD FJ cruiser which I have the body for. I have seen a lot of posts online about poor RC4WD axles / diffs. I have not put mine together yet so will be checking everything closely now I have seen this. I had a poor experience with the Raffee camp trailer. But also have a BRX01 so was expecting decent quality from the D90 chassis.
Thanks for your useful information. I am looking to get one chassis to build up my d110. Beside the price gap... I am in doubt if Xtras Speed or RC4WD chassis. Would you recommend RC4WD to avoid any modification and last long or the Xtras/Boom/Team is equivalent saving some bucks? Thanks
hey brother,QUICK QUESTION I'm running the TRAILMASTER sport 21t 550 with the 1080 and a 17t PINION GEAR by ROBINSON RACING what's the best number PINION GEAR TO run??Any information is greatly appreciated thanks
Hello Jose, Depending on what vehicle you are using. Best to generally keep as close to a 5 gear ratio on pinion and spur to keep electronics happy. Of course you can adjust for speed up or down from that point. 5 is a great and safe starting point. Take the spur tooth count and divide it by the pinion tooth count to get your pinion/spur ratio. The lower the number the faster your vehicle will go and the more heat you will create. Keep in mind to high can give you heat problems also.
@@axletwisterrc4526 I'm running a gen 8 with 1080 plus 25kg servo ds3225.>>The spur gear is ''45t'' and I'm using a ''17t''pinion gear...So doing [45 divided by 17=2.6]...[45tspur divided by 9tpinion=5].....[45tspur divided by 10tpinion=4.5]....[45tspur divided by 11tpinion=4.0]........[45tspur Divided by 12tpinion=3.75].....[45tspur divided by 13tpinion=3.46]....[45tspur divided by 14tpinion=3.21].>>>>>So like that??? And to keep in mind the lower the combined number that pinion gear will make it go faster, but create more heat possibly?? So the 5 gear ratio is the 9t pinon gear,,but that's a lot of torque for me not much speed.>>So adjust from there.Ohhhhhhhhh I got it now brother,,is my math correct??? Thanks again sooooooo much, you help me out tremendously, again thank you!
The Gen 8 is a bit of a exception to the rule because of the transmission and portal gearing. Yes getting it close to 5 will be fairly slow in the Gen8. I would start at 15t or 14t pinion and work from that point based on electronics temp.
if this was the gen8 you would've hammered this brother,REGARDLESS of the slacker who built it,and I know Dixieland RC has a great relationship with boomracing,my guy your supposed to slam this, and your holding back, you let off 3 to 4 bullets when this REVIEW SHOULD'VE gotten the clip
Vehicle Brand or where I get it from makes no difference to me. I held nothing back. Every piece of information is in the video. Holding back would be not showing it or not talking about it. THIS VIDEO WAS NOT A REVIEW. The review will come later. This was intial thoughts. The reason I didn't jump up and down and slam it was because it is a new vehicle and as a new vehicle talking with the manufacturer is the best action. I talked to Boom about the transmission mount being stripped and the offset extension shaft. They are sending replacement parts. The axles I never mentioned to them and if i did they would send replacement parts. I can't bash something when they would make it correct. The main things to take away from this is weak driveshafts and weak link mounts. The other issues was QA on the assembly. If 1 vehicle out of 1000 has QA problems i can't slam the other 999. All the people I know that have this rig do not have the issues I do. We as consumers need to give manufacturers the opportunity to correct mistakes. We need to move past slamming everything without giving the chance to make it right. Slamming something unjustly does nothing positive for anyone. Point out the issues, give a chance for customer service to happen then decide a direction to take. Thanks for watching my Friend. Stay safe and stay positive.
@@axletwisterrc4526 but how do you know 999 outta the THOUSAND are ok and not like this??yEA they have great customer support,it doesn't change the fact that there's CLEARLY issues, just talk about like you did the gen8,your gen8 VIDEOS AND this video is night and day and from factory this came with mechanical issues,my opinion brother I love your channel, but say the support is excellent but the chasis isn't it!
999 was a example. I literally never heard of or seen one like mine. That is including many searches and research. I know many people that have them and literally non of them is like mine. Gen8 was the same. I verified multiple models before making each video to get a rate of mistakes. Literally nothing is held back. You watched it all yourself in the video. It is all before you to make a educated decision. Give the manufacturer a opertunity to correct it. Its that simple. I did the same with the Element. A intial thoughts then a review. I took into account that Element was replacing parts molded incorrect without hesitation. I didn't knock it for what the factory was happy to address. The same with Boom. You are completely missing the fact this is not a review. When the review comes feet will be held to the fire if they need to be. The Gen8 was different it didn't have a intial thoughts video. The Element was done the same way I'm doing this D110. Intial thoughts just to go over things and point out the obvious without bashing anyone. This gives time to rectify any problems. Keep watching the review will be coming. It will be as everything I do is 100% honest. That is my number 1 thing honesty. I truly appreciate your input and passion. That's a great thing!

Lol that is for certain. Hopefully the replacement parts show soon and I can show everything rectified. Thanks for watching my brother.
