Whoever said "Titan pilots. They can't dock in a station so if they log off, the multi-billion Titan just floats about in space." hasn't actually played the game. They were unable to dock, sure, but when you "safely log out", you are vulnerable for like 20 seconds and then your titan would cloak and vanish. Because you actually logged out in the ship and it left the game world. Literally every Titan ever would do this in a shielded space bubble that kept their log in spot safe (for at least a couple of days). But literally none of that matters because Titans can dock in Keepstar citadels (Player owned and fueled stations) as of like... 5 years ago.
Historically that was the case. The ship *would* remain in space, regardless of the connection of the pilot. The "safely log out" was not in the game for a loooong time. Thats why hyper-deep safe spots and Deathstar POS's existed.
@@JerrodKane23 safe log out lets you wait out a logout timer with the ability to move/abort if found. Actual being logged out has always been "gone from game", the difference being you were left in space until the timer ran down and so vulnerable to being probed and tackled.

But I'll never go back, the commitment needed for it was immense, I play WoW purely because I can play an hour at most at night and turn it off and not have to worry about it
Played Eve for 10 years when it first started but got burned out by CTA and Mandatory Ops. It became more of a job than entertainment so I stepped away.
@@totenliste turning point for me, I was in CVA at the time, we where expecting a large invasion. Sat waiting for 8 hrs, it finally came, we jumped in with our fleet and the server crashed. The enemy fleet had 0 resistance and killed us all without us firing a shot, at the time it was the biggest battle to happen in eve. Well I say biggest battle only one side got to fire. The Dutch update is basically this in a nutshell: *_WARNINGS OF AN AIRSTRIKE, THE SIRENS SCREAM OUT LOUD!_* *_Warnings of the Radio, of what's coming_*
Eve online. One of the steepest learning curves you'll ever experience. Where a well prepared and knowledgeable player in a frigate can rip apart a noob in a Dreadnaught.
I played Eve when it first came out. The graphics, the gameplay and the details I loved. The crazy time sink to level skills just drove me away. I 'd be really curious to see a new player jump into it today.
Just imagine on WoT console were you finally built up a few great crews and then the completely reset/removed commanders and completely changed every skill.
I've yet to see an air strike that does any damage ever since the Alaska and Iowa incident. well until I watched the end lol. I really dislike ships that depend on gimmicks because the only thing that works here are the strikes.
Speaking of skills, I met a guy in WoT yesterday when I was platooning with my nephew. The guy has over THIRTY thousand battles in his Valentine 2. No other tanks played for the past 7 years. I dunno if he is trying to break a record or is just getting his kicks from spamming gold at seals, but he said he is almost to his seventh skill, which is mind boggling.
The point in Eveonline training is that your char specialises in a set of skills. There's really no point in training everything. One may have an alt char training a different set of skills concurrent with one's main char.
@Flambass ... Rooks & Kings was an alliance renowned for a professional level of activity in regard to the operations it conducted, and for cutting edge strategy/tactics utilized in those ops. The produced a number of VERY high quality videos here on RUclips (particularly the Clarion Call series), very interesting/entertaining to watch. Watching these videos would be time well-spent, and show you some of what was once possible to do on the combat side of things.
With eve online, they highly emphasize having multiple accounts. You don't get all the skills on a single character. You have a different character for each type of ship you want to fly. So you really only need to max the skills for a single ship type, which at max for capital ships is maybe a couple years. That said you don't need max skills to be competitive. You get like 80% effectiveness with 20% time investment. People who buy ships in Eve are called "loot piñata's". Whenever you die, you loose everything, and having the stuff doesn't mean you know how to use it. The game is much more about how to know how to play, than what items you can buy.
Who ever said that titans can't dock obviously hasn't played in quite a while. They can dock in the largest citadels called keepstars. Also, the only way to be safe in Eve Online is to stay docked in a NPC station or not play.
Not all bad with Eve Online skills. They still progress when you aren't logged in. Was hell before they added the queue system as you needed to remember to log back in from time to time to change your skills otherwise you'd lose time on training a new skill. Eve Online is a great game but it's not really a casual game and there are plenty of big alliances that can make your playing experience really horrible, even in hi sec. If you can think it, you can do it in Eve Online but so can the bad guys. You've been warned :)
I'd been playing WoT on console since it's release. Took me 3-4 years to get my first tier 10, then another year or so to get my second. (I'm not that good a player). However there's one tank I adored. One tank I ground the shit out of because I loved it's playstyle; the M18 Hellcat. Before they made the huge change recently that changed up how crews work, I had 15 skills on my Hellcat crew. -and that was all grinding without ever buying any gold or xp boosters etc. - which despite the number of premium tanks I have is still true to this day. Unfortunately since that big update the game has been ruined imo so I've stopped playing.

You dont need all skills on the same character in eve. You specialize on certain roles. Most skills are easy to take to lvl4, 5 is not usually needed unless very specific role. I used to play a game called Starfleet Commander. It was a browser based. At a certain level it started being months until research was done. Alternatively you could spend shit loads of money to finish instantly. Needless to say all the top players were whales.
yeah more Planes is what the Game needed. Its so sad =(
But, looking forward to see you dive into EvE. Don't think it's a Game for you, it is a fantastic Game though ;)
*edit* search for Rooks and Kings - Anatomy of a Fight. They show Stories and Gameplay (Old one, the base mechanics didnt change though)
Here I am with a tank commander with 9 skills 😅 I’m only 23 and haven’t played for awhile lol
