Oh how nice to dedicate your mums memories. I live moorhen drive. Enter from perryfield. I came in 2015 in new building looking over Welsh Harp. It all changed so much. I use that bus stop all the times. 183 83. Wish you best for your mum. 😊
found your video by chance. I was born 3 doors to the left of The Surrey Arms. the wonderful old terrace houses have gone and the pub re named , painted in stupid colours. Thank you for posting this. hope your mum enjoyed it. I now live in Newcastle
I think The Surrey Arms has been demolished, it was very old. Best bet for a pint will be The Midland or The Greyhound up the hill. Most pubs are long gone. Sad, because a good planning system could have saved them!
my family have lived in west hendon for 106 years! there are some good archive photos of west hendon available including a tram (!) going along the broadway outside the welsh harp pub and the old schwepps factory on garrick road. great idea your video. all the best.
Only ten years since this video was made, and the changes keep coming. The Ex-Servicemen's Club is now a school, which is being extended across what is left of Ravenstone Road. I live on the other side of the road from there. There are a couple of good aerial photos of that part of the Broadway from 1921 on the 'Britain from Above' website.
@carlosbambos Thanks for leaving comment. Where can I see those photo's? My mum used to go to The Welsh Harp and she remembers the Shwepps Factory too :-)
