Hi Eric: Love your two part strategy to cure fat shots and promote ball then turf contact 1. Moving belt buckle early and laterally (mostly lower body) to shift weight and pressure forward ensuring lead knee is past lead ankle at impact and getting belt buckle over lead ankle in the follow through and 2. Increasing wrist hinge on way down to promote hit on the ground in front of the ball.
These are the keys for ball turf contact explained in a way that is new to me and for which I am most grateful.
Appreciate it, Harold!
I had a jaw dropping moment during this video!!!
"Thumbs up - Thumbs down" Genius!!!
Lol love it---appreciate it!
Hey Eric. Your advice on Facebook helped me play my best round all year. Once I get working again I'm definitely going to become a full time member.
Glad to hear that my friend!
Very helpful! I needed this!
Appreciate it!
Love the videos Eric, keep em coming! So I sometimes struggle with wrist structure/grip pressure during the swing. I know that I should hold it light to get the club lagging behind but sometimes it feels like I can’t put pressure into the ball because it’s too light. Tried tightening the grip and I want to attack the ball from the top. Any advice would be awesome!
Hey!
I would really need to see your swing and talk more to give you any worthwhile suggestions. Feel free to join www.cogornogolf.com so you can send me your swings.
Here is some on grip pressure and tempo

Hi Eric this is a huge video most people hit the ball flat don't make good contact will say push pressure into the left foot possible with 80% of the weight when you say push you mean transfer 80% of your weight to the left foot orders push mean something else also use pressure does that mean transfer weight or something else thanks Jack
Yessir
Great thought” thumbs up” .
Yessir
Thanks Eric... Great vid as very often.. But what would be your advice for not sliding when putting.pressure forward ? (As you illustrate in the vid?)
Hey Jean!
Well a lot of people need MORE slide as the pressure goes forward.
If you have too much and need more of the turning I would look here:

Another great video, we are just coming out of our 2nd lock down in the UK so I can’t wait to try this move out. Two questions, the more you de-loft the club the more the face will be open at impact. I’m guessing I will have to flex my wrist to square the club face ? Would you use the same move
for your driver & those 50 yd pitch shots ?
Thanks!
1. Yes-or supination.
2. Less with driver and very much less with wedges (but of course how much YOU need to do it depends on how much of the opposite you currently have)
I like to keep my weight slightly forward at address, maybe 55-45 & not sway right on backswing & that has really helped me to stop hitting behind the ball. Can happen if I lose focus at setup & go back to bad habits.
Love it
Great video
Thank you!
At what point do you address his early extension and lack of side-bend at impact? Your video "The Perfect Impact Position" was really well done and seems like it would apply to this gentleman.
Hey Brent!
After we get him moving FORWARD.
@@CogornoGolf Yep. I have several students that have trouble closing the left hip gap. Sometimes, the feeling of getting the right shoulder to the ball before the club head works.
Nice Vid Eric, Would I use a similar drill driver shots ? Thanks!! Miguel
Thanks!
Less of each with driver

Do you have any videos on chipping in muddy winter conditions? Im having a hard time hitting it clean and often chunks the ball in muddy lies
Hey man!
We do not.
But perhaps in the future!
I like the earlier hinge for the short irons. Obviously the swing for the driver is very different from the irons. What about flexing, bowing the left wrist?
Hey Frank!
Yes....flexing/bowing is good! Depends some on grip
More on that

good advice
Thanks!
Golf swing- 60/40, straight left arm, no gaps under your armpits, turn your shoulders around (do not swing the club back) so your left shoulder is under your chin and pointing at the ball while keeping your head still in the circle. Do not raise up your shoulders and head.
Yep
I've got a super strong grip and do you think its best for me to play the ball back in my stance to repair the fat shots? Super strong grip+ball back = shaft lean and deloft. Is that good.. Any advice Eric?
Its an option!
You would likely hit low shots and more toward draw bias.
I would need to see more to say for sure and give you specific advice. Check out www.cogornogolf.com so you can send me your swings.

Have to be carful with hinging too early on the backswing. All pros hing on the down swing
Yep!
Here are some hinge checkpoints throughout in backswing and downswing

I’m no coach but all I can see is someone who pivots around his left leg on the back swing and hence then leans back and loads the right on the way down hence the fats. He looks so uncomfortable in down swing with his shoulders hunched I don’t see how the club can pivot around him with shoulders that tight.
Thanks for the feedback, Dan!
Dan interesting observation. I do have tight shoulders due to multiple shoulder and back injuries.
Your head is literally dropping a full head length down, as you put weight in the left leg
Have a great day, John!
English not my best deal here!😂🤣😂🤣
:)
$350 AN HOUR?! I’m calling the police.
Lol :)
He's not 50/50 at the top, he's pushed his upper body forward, this is because he's stopped rotating, his momentum has pushed forward, from his position, what you're advising is very difficult, in fact probably impossible
Appreciate the feedback!
