So, why isn't this new Prius for you ? I'm curious.
We ordered one 17 months ago and it will be (if it ever arrives), our third Prius. We never cared for the "look" of either of the first two but, each was completely trouble free. Number one was a lease and went back after four years at which point, we decided to buy the second one. That car is now over ten years old and the best mileage, I ever saw was 3.1 LPK, astonishing.

Ok veteran Prius owners! Hopefully you new Prius arrives soon. I am passing on this for 3 reasons.
Performance: i’m used to more HP and Torque and prefer any vehicle i drive to be north of 400 HP
I also like Crossover SUVs because they sit a bit higher and you don’t have to commit to a 3rd row.
Lastly i never want to go back to a gas powered vehicle including a PHEV (i live in California and gas prices are crazy). Granted the Prius is AMAZING however still a no for me personally.
My next car will probably be A Fisker Ocean or a Rivian R1T but i need to review them first 😉

      Hey Wiz,
Thanks for the reply. Although I've always admired horsepower and sports cars in general, my practicality has always prevailed. My wife and me have opted for economy cars with every purchase. In the time we have been together we've gone through six econo-boxes and liked them all. I know full well that gas in California isn't cheap and probably won't ever be again. But to put it perspective, here in Newfoundland gas is close to $ 8.00 a gallon. Diesel, even more expensive. If we could find a full electric for under $ 60,000 (that's the entry price here), we would sign-up right away. But, the extra 20 grand for an EV would never be paid back. What appeals with the new Prius is the extended electric range. We're both retired now and it's a rare day we'd need to drive 40 miles. That means we'll have to use very little fuel over the life span of a 2023 Prius. Far better for our wallets and the environment. We'll get the full benefit of an EV at 2/3's the cost and the well deserved quality of a Japanese built car.
      Happy motoring @@WizLovesCars

I ordered one (in Canada) on May 22, 2022. 18 months so far.

      Hi Leo,
Toyota needs to get its act together. Every other brand here has over flowing inventory and has had for some time. The local dealer in St. John's has a showroom the size of a skating rink. Last time I visited they had but a single car on display ! As much as we like the redesign and performance upgrade we're an inch away from walking away from the deal. Like you, we ordered a 2022 (one month after you), and are told it will; be at the least, another three months wait. We'll end up with a 2024. So, that's two model year price increases and, less trade in value on our current car. About another ten grand cost for us. We're not pleased so we are looking at the alternatives pretty hard.@@TheLeoFoss
