I got my 2016 Cayman S about 6 months ago and no surprise I love it so much!! Everything that everyone always talks about and more!! Already put 10k miles on it!! Perfect 10 out of 10
Greetings from US. I special ordered a Boxster S in June of 2013, It arrived in October as a 2014 model. This is my daily driver with 87K miles. There have been no mechanical issues with the car. It just runs and runs. Plenty of luggage space and fantastic gas mileage. At 75mph with 2 people it can reach 35mpg. Wow. This is my first and only Porsche after a life time in BMWs which were all problematic.
I have owned 5 bmws, daily drive a 2007 530i with 181,00 miles on it. I bought a base Cayman 5 years ago. I wish I had bought a Porsche 10 years ago or when I lived in Germany. I also owned a 2002 MB E320 and drove it for 212,000 miles. This Porsche is better than those very nice, durable and dependable German cars🏎
Great review of a fantastic driver's car. My 2014CS 981 odk has the sports chrono package, but no PASM or torque vectoring. Has the 20 inch Carrera wheels, after market sports bypass exhaust as well as a Cobb accessport and racing ECU upgrade to 360hp and 420Nm.. 0-100km is 3.89sec... It is a most satisfying drive and won't part with it.
55,000km. I purchased it in 2016 with 14,000km on the clock, so it was virtually new. I've tracked it once, however, it's too good to risk being bent, so my rides take me through local Hill routes, where the car shines. Not a harsh ride, but quite planted and very rewarding. A keeper.
If you do not have a sport exhaust, just order a high quality clear glass engine cover and the sound inside cabin will be amazing, not necessarily louder but more lively....making up for what the standard OEM exhaust may be lacking....
@@InvictusMotors I am doing it now for my 2015 981 GTS....I have a clear engine cover build, which will completely seal the engine bay off, no gases, no significant heat, no significant decibel increase (only 3-5 DBA) but it will sound more lively as intake noises are better heard...and the sound will not be muffled but lively. There are some YOU TUBE vidoes on this. Other pluses: no more excessive plastic trim, carpet and metal cover removal. Only 6 torx screws to lift the clear over. Now maintenance, smog check, engine work and cleaning ....all will be much easier and will go faster. You save at least 30 minutes in work - which is money if a dealer mechanic will do work. Additionally, the clear cover will look much nicer than all the carpet .......
good review but i wouldn't say there's torque low end at all, it's all at the top being NA. i drove one a few years ago and decided to get a FL a45 and a tune to get it to 420 ftlbs...the power was lacking bellow 4gs. but it's damn good handling and driving position. it reminded me of a gt86 i had with a turbo kit on it years ago.
As usual, great video. You’ve been a great help now my question. I have found two 2016 Cayman S certified preowned one owner vehicles. Both are exceptional cars. My question is one has great options. A little more on the luxury side on the options, but does not have sports Chrono. It does have the sport package to make it look like a GTS. The other doesn’t have as many of the luxury options. It does have some good options. It does have sports Chrono, but not PASM. i’m not gonna track it. I just want to drive my country roads and enjoy the car. Do I really need sports Chrono. Thanks so much.
We have a lovely 981 S with Carbon Bucket Sports Seats which might be of an interest to you. Or you can send me one that you are interested in and happy to advice you. www.invictusmotors.co.uk/details/used-car-in-bishop-stortford/porsche/cayman/3.4/887318/
@@InvictusMotors A Cayman 981 S with PDK in Basalt Black…very well spec’d with Sports Chrono, Sport Plus Seats, PASM which I think is the driver focused extras that you need in a Cayman, plenty other bits on the car like duel climate, heated seats, rear wiper etc
That’s a lot of previous owners. It seems not uncommon that people buy these for a couple of years then get rid of them. I guess the itch gets scratched then common sense sets in.
I’m in the US , his pronunciation sounds about right to me. Are you related to The Porsche family in terms of bloodline? I didn’t think so, so who are you to say the right way to pronounce Porsche? At least he knows what he is talking about!🏎

So glad you like it. Create memories in it

You got an amazing car, and the fuel economy shocks me in that car. The boxster handles so much better than BMWs

That is a brilliant spec car you have. How many miles have you done on it so far?

Very nice I had a 987s nd now a 718 but consider going to 981s now
That will be an excellent upgrade. Which colours are you considering?
@@InvictusMotors sorry only just seen your reply. I think White or the classic GT Silver 😉
Where do i get the sweatshirt????
This is my top choice of Cayman, a well spec’d 981 S with Porsche Sports exhaust, Chrono and PASM , next is the 981 highly spec’d base then 987.2 S
That’s the spec they gotta be. What do you drive?

I don’t think you need the sports chrono as you won’t use it and the other options on the other car you will use. Hope that helps

Yes or they move to another Porsche product.
Very attractive
Thank you
Oil changes every 10 or 15 thousand miles.....not good at all way too much mileage. Should change every 5,000 km.
I wish everyone took this approach
Dude! It is Porsche not Porschaaaa
I am sorry if I did not pronounce it as you wish but in UK it is very commonly pronounced the way I have pronounced it in the video
