👋🤓 UX designer of 10+ years here. Solid takes. I actually think your button style redemptions are better for mobile, too. I’d add a 50% opacity to them when they’re on cooldown and it fills like a loading bar as it counts down. 👀
yesss, i really love that idea! i hate when i have to keep clicking a channel point to see if the cool down is done, having it "load" or be faded for the time its out would be SO helpful for so many people.
Like your suggestions, one more here: Make them exportable, so you can share them with your friends. That way, you can go to the dashboard, enable the export option for that redemption and that would create a code that could be sent to a friend to import it.
Ohai nutty, i'm the someone that made the uservoice suggestion. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could link the uservoice page so we can get more votes on this. Maybe Twitch will finally listen. Oh, and regarding the rating: 11/10, loved all of the concepts and designs.
Love all of this. I spent a lot of time thinking about people's experience with my channel points menu because I make a lot of wacky redeems, then twitch pinned something I don't care about at the top so people have to scroll down to use my redeems *AND YOU CAN'T DISABLE OR MOVE THE POWERUPS MENU* which is crazy to me. I like your idea.
Totally agree they should go to “Power Ups” and let streamers customize it. Love the List view & maybe a “Compact” view as well which is a single line and give the viewer the option to choose between them by having say 3 view icons like “Standard/list/compact”. Great video, I hope they update this. ❤🤘
love love love LOVE all of these ideas! especially like the idea of channel point and bit costs for redeems so new viewers can redeem them straight away! classic Nutty W
this video is literally PERFECT, as soon as i saw the power ups update this is all that could run through my brain and i want everything you've shown in this video to come into reality ASAP! im so excited!
This is incredible!! Small changes, but they would be an absolute game changer. I really love the way you redesigned the channel point menu. The list feels so much better than the massive, bulky icons. Hopefully something like this could be implemented in the future!!
These are awesome ideas. I hope Twitch adopts them, too. The channel points is menu isn't bad, but a more streamlined update would certainly add a lot to the Twitch experience.
The redesign of the menu is amazing idea. Also liked the comment about adding opaqueness and maybe even a visual loading bar style to show when something is on cooldown. I’ve used mix it up to do groups of commands under one channel point reward, but it’s at random. I really like your idea of to tie up several options within one channel point command. I feel like too many options in the menu definitely makes it cluttered, this would be a great way to reduce that effect
This. Everything you mentioned. One thing I would like to see is making the icons you set be bigger to use more of the wasted real estate. But, if they go with the list idea (which is by far the best route) then it wouldn't matter. I would love to see them also allow organizing the channel points/power-ups of what is the most popular. This would allow me, the streamer, to understand better what my audience enjoys and what they don't.
bunch of great points! It would also be cool to see a cooldown timer for powerups for the ones that have it set. I hate trying to activate one and not know how much longer it will be before it'll be available again
I submitted to the power ups user voice a while back to add bits as a override. Such as, when a channel reward is on a cooldown or out of uses then can pay bits to redeem it anyways.
All of these are perfect concepts for refinement and progression of the platform. The agility to temporarily hide the redeems independently is very useful. Or possibly change value. That way a singular one won't get super spammed and such.
These are actually great ideas . I recently started doing a bit menu thing to a streamer that im managing . And the viewers still dont use anything. When the power ups released i immediately checked if i was able to do a channel point reward . With bits . But i could not . I want to forget the bit menu .
This re-design is fantastic. the current menu is so clunky. having it be a channel point / bits price on the same event would be so helpful and fantastic.
i'd really like to see a feature where if normal viewers, who AREN'T subbed, watch an ad-- they get rewarded with channel points. i thought this was possible with vanilla twitch (maybe it's possible through a script but i'm not a coder..) and was really disappointed to learn that it wasn't. i love that they're trying new things with the platform, and i hope that something like this will be implemented. i'd really like to reward my viewers for sitting through something that they'd rather not see in the first place..
I would really like toggle able menu pages of channel points. That can be keyboard or compatible with programs like streamer bot. When I'm playing a different game or having different things happen I want to be able to enable and disable certain channel points at a moments notice. Game specific rewards take up slots that become useless if your a variety streamer
That's a pretty good redesign tbh. I know these types of companies usually already have a lot of unreleased concepts and work, and now I'm curious how many of your ideas they've already thought of, and if any have been rejected and why.
As it comes to me, I like your ideas - they come close to my own thoughts. - Add List-View like in @nutty's example. I like the style, its symple but effective for desktop AND mobile. If there are hard feelings about the design, enable a switchable option! - Add opacity/greyed out view for redeems that are active but blocked (e.g. timer // inactive redeems should not be visible like today) - Show the redeem countdown directly in the menu. (e.g. like @ohheyitsak said already) - Add Option to use any variation of either/or/and bits/channelpoints for redeem. - Add Option to manually sort redeems independent from costs. (inclduing some auto-sorting methods for the ones who dont care) - I like the idea of more customizeable buttons. - Create groups of "redeems" (additonal variable), e.g. for a certain theme/game, which could then be managed easier. I would also go along with all the other ideas. But as a streamerBot user, they were not as important for me, as the ones I mentioned. :) A bit off-topic, but overdue already: - If you set "goals" like subs/bits/followers, I would expect being able to separate them "visually" or make them rotateable within the existing browsersource.
Twitch please hire nutty and give him a lot of money to be a consultant or something. These ideas are all great! But I think Twitch doesn't really care about channel points.
What if they kept the whole "Power ups/ channel points" redeems menu, but then had there be tabs or some other way to sort it so if people wanted to only see things that could be redeemed with points, or only see things that could be redeemed with bits, they could? Also I see why some people might prefer the list over the grid, but I think the best way to go about it would be to make it a choice thing. Either let the streamer choose how they want their rewards presented, let it be a setting for twitch accounts in general so people could choose how they see rewards menues, or (and I think this might end up being the simplest option, honestly) make it a toggle within the menu itself.
It's destressing to me that not enough people's comments show the proper respect and admiration for Nutty's butt. Thumbed up vid purely for that. More in future please :3
Like you I’m a bit of a power user when it comes to Streamerbot and how it interacts with channel points (redemptions, enable/disable) If twitch adds any of the functionality you suggested they would be great for my toolbox!
WOW! I love everything! The ideas you have about channel points are really amazing! I'm someone who uses points a lot to interact with my community and this would be something that would be very good for channels that really have this type of rewards. I hope that Twitch will soon take note of this and improve this, it could be absolutely innovative. One last thing. How the hell do you manage to have the rewards with transparency? Hahaha I can only put shitty colors in the background hahaha lov u nutty ❤❤
Groups and custom orders will require a new permission system for power-ups. Right now 3rd party apps like streamer bot can only change those rewards that they created themselves, right? So when you create a group, can streamer bot put rewards in there? Can it change the order of rewards if there is a mix of rewards created by streamer bot and rewards created by someone else? This is going to need figuring out.
Twitch Employee of the Month Badge incoming....oh wait ^^ nvm :D Seriously,...10/10 though i could see the glare in your Eyes,....looked like Dollar Signs (dsching dsching Cashier Sounds) because WE all know how much YOUR Channel would benefit with all that and i hope you get all of that and ten times more, because you deserve it :) So many FUNNY Videos, so many special Ideas over the years how to improve your Twitch Channel...yeah, they should really give you the Badge asap Baby :)
i do think thay need to change the size of the channel boxes it's like a tiny icon in a big box but i do like the i ide of a grid and let ppl use channel point and bit i bin think abut they my self i got custome bit redeems but no one know abut them
tbh I think a lot of this is b/c twitch isn't invested in your identity or branding more than they are the platform's brand. they want ppl to see a stream and think "oh they're a TWITCH STREAMER~" and not just a person who streams on twitch. your ideas are good, but I'm not sure if they'll do anything about it. I'm also concerned about the potential abuse of the system by having the ability to flood someone's stream with oversized emojis, which I'm *certain* won't be used for nefarious purposes, somehow~
Rate my redesign out of 10. You can be honest, even if it does hurt my feelings 😭😭

@@Shmegsxo it’s amazing how little changes can make a big difference 😄
I also wish that streamers had access to channel points, so we could view, give and take away channel points. This way you could reward people.
I'm just gonna go ahead and say yes to everything in this video. yes, all of it, yes. please twitch, give us allllll of this.
I love every decision except the list format, I like the buttons. An option to swap between the two on the viewer's side can never be negative though.
Love the redesign! amazing ideas too!

Yeah, all of Nuttys suggestion plus being able to export them! That would be a GAME CHANGER!

Loving ALL of this!!! Really hope this gets some traction with Twitch!!! Would use every single one of these changes on my channel!
This is incredible!! Small changes, but they would be an absolute game changer. I really love the way you redesigned the channel point menu. The list feels so much better than the massive, bulky icons. Hopefully something like this could be implemented in the future!!
Im liking this because I agree with you completely and hopefully Twitch takes it seriously. Great Job man!

1000% agree. great ideas nutty!
bunch of great points! It would also be cool to see a cooldown timer for powerups for the ones that have it set. I hate trying to activate one and not know how much longer it will be before it'll be available again

(Please DO pitch custom Channel Points Rewards order/the ability to reorder points regardless of cost, please. Thanks)
Solid 10! Every idea is literally genius level! 🎉
All of these are perfect concepts for refinement and progression of the platform.
The agility to temporarily hide the redeems independently is very useful. Or possibly change value. That way a singular one won't get super spammed and such.

I love these ideas!!!!! Submenus in redeems can also be helpful for presets like multiple light colors to pick from.
"I'm a youtuber with a huge ego" ... LMAO got me with that one. Love your ideas man! It definitely needs cleaning up!
These ideas would make a huge improvement. I agree with all of em.

This would be the single greatest update to channel points in a LONG time...
As it comes to me, I like your ideas - they come close to my own thoughts.

Channel points for sure need a revamp! This looks clean’

i really hope they launch custom power ups at twitchcon 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 so many good ideas from powerups

power ups are a fine idea but yea the major issue is its taking up premium real estate on the channel point menu :/

@nutty I think I found your doppleganger! Look up Drawn To Books and I swear you both could be related. 😂
yes to all of this.
Yes to everything
Are people really waisting bits on stuff like that? 😅 They should made it that it use channel points
YES!
