  • If you want to see the whole ride... you got it! This video continues after the last one as I ride my 2019 Suzuki V-Strom 650XT along Hwy 33.
I was kidding about the multistrada! It is way beyond my budget.
And before anyone complains about the music I use it to cover poor commentary instead of editing the video.

Hey, that was the Red Car Club at the start.
Akrapovic silp-on exhaust costs well over AUD1,000 locally, so that's way too expensive for my budget.
I had the Suzuki adjustable pegs put on, in the lowest and more rearward position, nice and comfy, and I'm about 5'10".
Ryn F9 (FortNine) talks about the V-Strom 1000, a few years ago now, but the sentiment still applies: "I've never regretted it."
Multstrada V4 vs V-Strom 1050XT locally is AUD29K vs AUD21K, so the Zook wins on that basis, I reckon.
Both our Stroms have factory centre stands. Wouldn't be without them.
Heated grips as well, 3 temp settings. 64oF is about when they go on (15oC on the dash, near enough).
Glad you found 6th gear, but you need to wave more often.
Good ride. I try not to be too chatty. Hope you get well soon.
    Cheers, from Australia.

Thanks appreciate the support. I forgot my usual sarcastic twang in mentioning the multistrada, just kidding about that bike. Way too expensive. In the US like Australia we suffer a large import fee. They’re already expensive to begin with. Definitely considering heated grips for the 650.

Test ride the DL1050, maybe? The cruise control sounds nice, and maybe it'll offer better ergos? I'm tall and while my DL1000 is not a perfect fit it is good enuf, I got it cheap, and I really enjoy its get-up-and-go. Oh, I was also thinking that while the Lotus and Porches of the world at first glance look appealing, what we have on two wheels offers more fun, for 1/7th to 1/10th the price, lol, so I don't get distracted by luxury performance cars for very long! Good to see the new video, and look forward to the next ones.

What a gorgeous ride. I'm like you, 6'3" and hard to find bikes that fit. I have a KLR 650 now for ergonomics, but it doesn't have a 6th gear and I like to cruise. I was looking at the Vstrom 650 until I hear you struggling with the ergos...? I like the 1050xt as well, but have heard that it's not that great for tall people either. So now what? I've sat on the 650 and it feels pretty good. I don't know. I hear you about riding and hurting. I used to take Advil after I rode...now I take them before I ride. Haha. Ride safe. Love the videos.

Well my hips would twitch on any motorcycle. If you sat on a stock 650 and it felt good that says it all. Get the peg lowering brackets, they are strangely too high stock. Maybe a tall seat. I put a lot of miles on mine before those upgrades. I sat on a 1050 and it isn’t a huge difference in leg room.

@@CPUspeed Can you recall what lowering brackets you bought? There appears to be some good and some bad. If I go the 650 route I'd like to get the right ones. Thanks for input. Love the channel.

Awesome road! When I was buying my new 650 last fall I let my salesman know how shocked and disappointed I was that the bike didn't come with a centre stand. Like a hurt puppy. Told him the other bikes I was looking at had them standard. Voila...factory centre stand thrown in. Agree about the range...about 480 kilometres for me. Would you recommend your throttle lock and what brand is it? BTW, Ryan F9 is also 6'4". Get well soon.
