I haven't used the gathering foot on my serger yet because I was a little intimidated by it. After watching you do it so smoothly and explaining so well how to use it, I am excited to finally put that gathering foot to work! Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial, you are god sent! God bless you.
Omg, I'm speechless. My first (textile) sewing project was this long sundress with yards and yards of fabric that had to be gathered. I had to strech all that fabric across the whole length of my floor and then had to crawl back in forth to make sure it was bunched evenly. After that I swore off attempting anything like that again, but this is a game changer.
My jaw is on the floor! I had NO idea that 1. my serger could do this and 2. that is would be so EASY! I've been putting off hand gathering a ruffle for the bottom of a large Victorian walking skirt and now I'm glad I did! I can't wait to tackle it now!
Hello my dear I watched today all your 33 lessons of teaching how to use 1034D I am so thrilled how to explained well done you are brilliant tutorial to all adjustment in all lessons so great full I am 74 years old and very young age maybe 7 years in my needlework class in school so interested in sewing embroidery so on but this serger change my life amazing my both 🙌 for you thank you bless you I am from UK 🇬🇧 ❤️🤗😊👍👏🏼
yeah, wow, this is really exciting. Ruffling on a serger is so much faster and easier than on a sewing machine. I always struggled with my ruffler foot with my sewing machine.
What stitch length did u use? I have the 1034dx model so it's a Lil different. Are you able to do videos for that model? Gets a Lil confusing with all the dials in different places. I love your videos. You've helped me so much
I am wondering about the stitch finger. Can that be left in when using the gathering foot. Could you possibly tell me when and when not to use the stitch finger. I love your videos they have been so helpful!! Thank you!! 💓 🧵
Selina Holland You don't need a ruffler foot to make a beautiful ruffle. Here are the settings and use the standard foot that came with your serger: Differential feed: 2.5 Stitch length: 4 Upper looper: 3 Lower looper: 3 Left needle: 7 Right needle: 7 Hope this helps. 😊
Lynette Patrice You can use your standard foot and make a great ruffle: Differential feed: 2.5 Stitch length: 4 Left needle: 7 Right needle: 7 Upper looper: 3 Lower looper: 3 No need for a "ruffler foot"!!
Lynette Patrice Yes, you can make a beautiful ruffle without a gathering presser foot on your serger, but if you want to make a ruffle to a straight piece of fabric at the same time, you need the gathering foot. 😊
Allie Kai-Sumiki it comes with this particular machine. If you didn’t buy this one you can purchase it online not sure about in store, but most likely you can.
