Easy to explain. Band Maid doesn't play a genre, Band Maid IS a genre. Pop, punk, prog, thrash, rock. Metal. They roll it all into a fantastic ball and the unique Band Maid sound comes out.

  • @GaryHolloway-810

Can i just mention that pretty girl & beard monster man are two of the best new reactors to BAND-MAID I've seen. And by Maidiac law that means they have to do a doubler next of "Don't You Tell Me" MV & live at Yokohama.😁

  • @kennogawa6638

The Maids use instrumentals to rest their lead singer Saiki. MISA the bass player tucks her pick to slap and doesn't wear shoes.

  • @GaryHolloway-810

Whether playing the onset of Onset on set or offset by Onset off set BAND-MAID are always set to deliver killer Hard Rock music :)

Actually they do PLAY. Meaning you should check out the song "PLAY" live of course.

  • @TheJerm

I know your list of songs must getting rather long, so I'll just mention this: The Maids seem like really nice people. Therefore, they attract really nice people. It's one of the bazillion reasons why I love this band. The Maidiacs are some of the nicest people and warmest fan bases I've ever experienced. You two fit...right...in. Seriously. Thanks so much! And oh, check out "Blooming" - omv. 🕊

DOMINATION live or HATE? live will give you a good introduction to the lead singer, Saiki's, powerful vocals. All the videos on their YT channel from the past 3 or 4 years have English subtitles so you can see the depth and brilliance of Miku's (rhythm guitarist, backing vocalist, main lyricist, founder of the band and quite frankly ridiculously beautiful woman) lyrics as well as understand what Saiki is singing about. But she has such a melodic voice that it is an instrument on its own and so not using the subs means you'll be able to watch all the complex instrumentation. OOPS! Just realised you've seen HATE? , which I missed somehow...should have subscribed and hit that bell...now sorted out!

  • @johnmatthew102

You guys have a future. I am nominating you for the best new reaction couple of the year. Anybody second that motion?

  • @DeanF_MIDI

They do one or two instrumentals per show in order to give Saiki's voice a break.

  • @GlennWH26

Band-Maid's lead singer, Saiki, had surgery for throat polyps a few years ago. Since then, the band has been very protective of her voice. As part of that, each serving (as they call their concerts) has a section halfway through where Saiki leaves the stage to rest. Meanwhile, the rest of the band does a few songs where Miku sings lead, some instrumentals, and Miku does her Magic Spell Time bit (improv comedy in the middle of a rock concert- must be seen to be believed).

Instrumentals during concerts is exactly what they do...the best in the world.

  • @70soperator16

Ok...Band Maid SHARE the spotlight....no ego holds the band back.....also...to their abilities....Band Maid are the ONLY Band I'm aware of that can take the stage as a 1 piece, a 2 piece, a 3 piece, a 4 piece and a 5 piece band and the music doesn't suffer at all.....5 humble geniuses.....imho

  • @evilducks3710

Instrumentals came about for a very practical reason. Saiki developed polyps on her vocal cords kinda early in the bands existence and eventually had to have surgery to get them removed. Since then she’s been very diligent in taking care of her voice. She works with a vocal coach to strengthen it, drinks a syrup during shows to keep them from getting damaged again and the band put in a break mid show for her, so they do a chat with the audience that is very fun, usually followed by an instrumental or two and a song sung by Miku.

  • @TomClark-Futoura

Band-Maid always brings an ONSET of love, appreciation and happiness to their viewers. Why? Because they're so damn good -- good-natured, good-hearted, good-looking, and beyond good as writers, players and performers. Wow, right?! Thx, XpXp!

  • @LostAgain1970

You haven't seen the drummer shine yet, doing a solo. The next natural choice is their live version of "Freedom". Akane, the drummer, is in her absolute happiest mood there. Her happy face during the solo rubs off on you and it ends with you smiling as big as she does. The effect on me is the same every time I watch that video.

  • @LawrenceCox-bv9zt

I know you will receive many, many recommendations but, if I may, how about checking out the more heartfelt side of these gals? BAND-MAID has written/performed more than one song devoted to their fans. ABOUT US (online live video) was written during the pandemic. MEMORABLE (music video) was written during their 2022 US tour as a tribute to those who attended their tour. Finally, ENDLESS STORY (live performance 2023), their closing song for the Yokohama 10th anniversary concert was a thank you to the fans' support throughout the years. Thank you so much for reacting to BAND-MAID.

When I saw them in Silver Spring, MD this song was immediately followed by From Now On.

  • @BRO-rh2cr

Another great reaction. Instrumentals...they use them to give their lead singer, Saiki, a break. The instrumental, or two, along with a song, or two, from Miku (Second lead, backing vocals, rhythm guitar) in the lead, followed by Omajinai Time (Magic Spell Time, I know this must sound weird, but it is truly entertaining), lead by Miku, give Saiki a good long break. Saiki has had vocal issues in the past and has had an operation to address it. That with vocal training, her voice is stronger than it's ever been. No US tour announce yet for this year, but if you want to go to Japan, they have what they are calling their "Hall" tour. June 28th, in Aichi. July 5th, in Osaka. July 14th in Kanagawa. They are also playing in 3 festivals in Japan. July 21, "Osaka Gigantic Music Festival". Aug 16, "Rising Sun Rock Festival". Aug 17, "Summer Sonic". They are also working on their new album release which is due out at the end of this summer. PO!🕊

  • @DeanF_MIDI

They toured USA in October of 2022, May of 2023, and August of 2023. I saw them once on each of those "legs". Unforgettable experience.

  • @elliott8339

Thanks for the reaction and comments. They're arguably the best live rock band on the planet. Enough said. Check out Manners(MV) for a change of pace and style. If you're wondering if there is anything these ladies can't do...the answer is a Yes. They can't be mediocre. Cheers!
