An after-thought. I think it moved you because somehow you can feel what it's saying to you.

Proudly South African!! To all my brothers and sisters... Black, White, Indian, Coloured and all other ethnics... I love you!! This is the new South Africa!!
As a South African one thing I have to confess is that, I always cry when our national anthem is played, and it's because when we sing...even a war cry...we sing it from our African hearts. It makes me so very proud to call this beautiful country .... mine. I will never trade it for all the riches in the world, we have our problems...but this is truly my home.
This is not ur Home, ur parents and dia forebears came to our land uninvited, steal or land, plumage destroy our life..... you do not belong here
Africa belongs to the Black pple.. One day..... YOU MUST LEAVE.....EVEN NOT YOU, YOUR CHILDREN WILL 🎯
❤❤
Our anthem is a hymn not a battle cry!
Did I say our anthem is a battle cry?@@stephanieolivier9051
Totally felt❤
As a South African I feel MAJORITY of South Africans respect each others race, culture, believes and religions. It hurst when the minority stir up unecessary racism and discrimination. Yes the way country is run is not perfect but it's scenes like these that makes us proudly South African because we as South Africans know this is how united we are most of the time.
I am with you to the end
It is not the minority that stirs up racism. The minority sacrificed a lot over the years. We have little to nothing dedicated to what we achieved over the years and lot was taken away from our culture. We understand change. That is why so much has been sacrificed from our side as well.
The main cause for racism in South Africa these days are from politics. Racisms is stirred by politicians and politics that keep using it as a excuse whenever they are caught out or have to put blame on something for their failures to produce results. The average guy on the street is doing what he can to survive and improve his life. He has no time for such petty things, especially during these difficult times we all face.
Together we are stronger. I have always believed in this.
I’m sorry to burst your bubble but we need to be real for a second😭the minorities in this country although dominated are still black and poc people and we still have bad poverty and have effects of apartheid. The rainbow nation is just a feel good blanket to stop from speaking about hardships
@@salemwitchfairy9009 "The minorities of this country is still black and poc" LOL. 90% of the people in South Africa is black and POC.
If you think whites have never lived in poverty or struggled. Then you know as little about white people than you do of South Africa. Not one of my family members ever grew up rich. Each went through struggles to get where they are today and worked for what they own. They paid all their taxes, school fees, they pay for their property ect. Nothing was given to them for free even once in their lifetime. One smart thing they did is to not live above their means and have 2 kids. Whites rarely ever had their kids grow up with family members or grand parents. This is not how it worked for us. Even to today. Very few whites live above their means and some even get kids past their 30s because of the economic climate and their living expenses.
You can blame apartheid as much as you want. Most never even grew up during that time. One day you need to take accountability and recognise that it is you that need to make changes. Once you take away the blame you will come out better.
The fact that you can't hear what they saying but it made you cry, makes me believe in the spirit of Africa❤ We love you Bro
That touched me alot...I relate
This is what Africa is all about.
He can hear what they're saying. He can't understand it.
Ubuntu
I am because we are
"Ubuntu" is sometimes translated as "I am because we are" (also "I am because you are"), or "humanity towards others" (Zulu umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu). In Xhosa, the latter term is used, but is often meant in a more philosophical sense to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity".
As South Africans, we embody the spirit of ubuntu for our country and its people. It's what we fought for and still fight for, no matter where we are in the world - we're connected by this - That's why you'll always here us say saying "hulle weet nie, wat ons weet nie" - (They don't know what we know)

I'm an Indian South African. South Africa is the best
Crying at the exact same moment and I am a 68 year old white South African woman! I always cry with this music. It's the spiritual thing that really gets you. ❤
Me too! This is something that I thought would I would never see happen in my lifetime. It makes me feel good to see that our grandchildren want to live in a South Africa that is free of bitterness and anger. ❤🇿🇦
This is one thing about South Africa that the rest of the world don't understand...we express ourselves through music. That's why it touched you so deeply❤. I firmly believe that our pride for our schools come from the fact that we still wear uniforms. Absolutely love my country!
Love that you said that it's second nature
The song that made you cry is Xhosa. It belongs to a class called amagwijo. It's sung by boys when they go through a rite of passage to adulthood, which incudes circumcision. You can google it if you'd like to know more about it.
Oh wow! I wouldn’t have guessed! Thank you so much !!
@@BANGA2TIMEZ Siyazalana means we are related. Our SAfrican songs are deeply spiritual and fun too. An average ethnic South African can sing in a competitive formal choir the way songs are part of expression. Everything is done in song.
Sometimes those songs and the togetherness are the only reason we make it back from the bush❤
Thanks for sharing south african culture
Song means so much more to this country. Its the only reason we are able to move on and conquer the many challenges we have. When the song (amagwijo) go you become invincible and everything against you becomes that much smaller.
I'm a south African, we call most of these songs "gwijo" they aren't really war cries, but are songs that express our feelings whether sad or happy...they keep us united ❤️ thought you should know
Thank you for the info! Yea that makes more sense. War cries was too vague
Yes. It is i Gwijo. Amagwijo are songs used as poetry, mourning , and celebration songs ( whether it's initiation, women initiation, weddings etc)

Facts on facts!! Yho what a time 😭
Hey, I'm deeply touched by this too. The unity among South African school kids, regardless of race, is truly powerful. It's a reminder that we shouldn't allow politics or biased media narratives to influence our perspectives. Seeing those kids holding hands, playing together, and showing genuine affection is a poignant example of a South Africa worth striving for.

Yes I really do! I am proud to be African!
@mossfairy not white and brown otherwise you wouldn't still be racist
The feeling of belonging is the best part😊we are one and music connects us.
Everything like singing, dancing etc. in South Africa and Africa as a whole is spiritually based.
Africa is blessed with soul, something this side lacks 😢
There is never not an opportunity to dance & sing. Whether we are protesting, partying, in church, at work, at a funeral we sing & dance!!!!
I think it stems down from the struggle and oppression the previous Generation experienced and it trinkled down to us and we experience music differently and more emotional and because of that we can all connect to the beauty of our history as one country and continent

Our forefathers and mothers used to sing these songs (the last song on the video) during apartheid just to keep their spirits alive and give them hope for the fight they were about to go into, fighting off the apartheid regime. Now we sing them at schools during sports season just to boost our spirits and give us hope to conquer the task ahead. I love this man ♥️. S/O to you for this reaction bruv 🙌🏼

I'm from South Africa. Yes, we have our challenges, who doesn't, but school was not just a place that you went to to learn maths. It was a place to express, sing in mass quoirs, shout your war cries, play your heart out on the sports field while your whole school was doing these things to encourage and motivate you. I have the fondest memories from my school years. I feel you. Thank you for this.

As a fellow South-African I can say this video I something I love about my country and makes me proud of ZA
Our High School culture in SA is actual one of the best in the world especially when it comes to sports events, like rugby. I went to university in Calgary, Canada, it was a great experience in terms of the facilities and programs but at stages it felt like it was a ''every man for himself'' type of vibe, despite all the events etc; it's a very laid back, introverted culture that everyone just seems to embrace. SA has a far more communal culture!
You know what, as a South African myself, I never appreciated what I had in my school with this camaraderie. Now I miss it immensely. Thank you for opening my eyes to this.
We are a very unique and blessed country. Look at these young people showing us, in music and dance, how a united front looks like, regardless of race or colour. We need younger, fresher, open-minded leaders in our government, and this country will heal and go far economically, politically, and socially. I love 🇿🇦
