This is just for anyone who is having trouble with installation of the mod. You may find that you have done everything correctly, but it doesn't work. when the mod gets extracted into the games folder, there should be a folder called "Corpse Party - Graphics and Voice Mod". This is because the installer just created a folder with the mod in it and added it into the directory instead of actually applying it.
To fix this, simply drag out the "Corpse Party - Graphics and Voice Mod" folder onto your desktop (or somewhere else), open the folder and drag all it's contents into the main game directory folder and click "Replace all". (Maybe re-drag in the Chapter 5 patch too just in case)
As of October of 2021, this guide and mod is now obsolete, for those of you that had issues installing the mod, I apologize greatly.
In light of this though, I highly encourage people who want to use the mod to purchase Corpse Party (2021).
It does everything that this mod hoped to do and more. Thank you guys so much for the support.
Do keep in mind about this though, any comments asking for help with the mod will be ignored from this point onward.
If you need help with the mod, contacting me is no longer an option.
Please either consult someone else who got the mod to work, or just play Corpse Party (2021).

Hello good man, you can port the sprites of new Corpse Party version (remastered) for PSP?
I know you made this mod/video a while ago, but thank you! This really made my day! My biggest gripe with the PC version were the cutsey/newer sprites. This mod worked perfectly on installation (no problems yet) and it's a treat! Thanks for allowing us PC players to enjoy the game as it was originally intended.

So much that even if they remade the game with the new graphics, I'd buy it all over again just to have it! If anyone has any problems with the installer, make sure to check the game location and see if any folders or anything were made.
To verify, check the date on the file bs.bcx, it should have a date of March 4th, 2019, that's the modded file.
The bcx files have to be where CorpseParty.exe is; otherwise, the mod doesn't work. Also, don't forget to apply the patch for Chapter 5, it's important!

And I don't think the definitive edition aka cp 2021 can be played on my computer 😭
I can safely say that this didnt break my computer and didnt come up as malware according to both Bitdefender and Malwarebytes. It fixed the sprites but I can't say for sure if it has some underlying spyware hidden somewhere
There is no "underlying" spyware. If you seriously think thought there would be, then you must be paranoid. I can assure you that I have no knowledge on how to make viruses. So if there was any suspicion of the mod, all it does is fix the VN busts, change the overworld sprites and add the voice acting featured in the 3DS release of the game. Other than that, there is nothing else that was done to the game.

Anyone else having problems with the mod? Ive installed everything and replaced all of the files and nothing is changing. im been re doing it and re watching the tutorial for almost half an hour now. I cant reach the creator on discord like it says in the README file. I'm starting to get really frustrated.

The issues is when i download and try to open the patch it says it doesn't find the right app in default apps. But i can't move corpse party out of apps into defeault apps in windows 10. Doing it in this PC or Onedrive didn't seem to work either. Will try again tomorrow since i'm tired.
Is the patch neccecary though? I mean if i can't get it to work and the phone is a person is the game broken and can't be continued or does it just look silly? If it just looks silly then that happening once can't be worse than playing entire game in vanilla PC version lol.
The patch is necessary. It is not an installer like the actual mod is, it's a file that you place in the game's location. Where CorpseParty.exe is. Of course no app would open it because the chap5.bcx file IS a game file.

After I did this my screen kept black screening when I launched it please help me, it would play the music but nothing else
I'm on windows 10, but when I try to drag the chap 5 file onto the game file or something like that, it just automatically opens... What am i doing wrong?

Hi, you play the Corpse Party 2 - 98.
I added you on discord because I can't message otherwise but it's still pending so I came here. For some reason I can't make the mod work at all. The mod gets installed fast and seem not to have problem but I still see old sprites even after the opening section. I have tried to reinstall the mod for like 5 times but no luck. What could be the problem?

@@AdminProductions It's in D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Corpse Party, D is my hard drive while C is SDD. The installation suggested SDD location though
How can I mod corpse party? I'm just curious on what program do you use and how you change stuff around. Thanks so much for the mod btw. I really enjoy it.
To mod Corpse Party, I used QuickBMS using the Heart of Crown script (an early version of it), and I used it on the bcx files found in the game, and used QuickBMS's reimporter to re-insert stuff back into the game. This DOES mean that the Chapter data can be modded too. But the script files used for the Chapters are heavily encrypted.

Hello, thanks for the mod it's really useful^^ I want to mod Corpse Party games ( maybe some other games like some RPG Horror but anyway ), like do a french translation and maybe in the future adding a dub. Is there a way I can learn correctly how to modify games ? I feel a bit lost x)
Doing translation to the Steam version requires editing the game's code. Since it's all encrypted, editing the game's dialogue is not possible.
@@AdminProductions I see, and I assume it's the same way as Gog ? I've seen patchs for Steam games but I suppose it's really a special case. Thanks for the quick reply ! So my only possibility is eventually to do like the Super Mario 64 Port version ? ( For the moment on my main channel I tried to translate every thing story-related with an editing software, it's better than nothing but if there was a French translation that would be better )
@@ARMarTy_ It is the same for GOG. Because XSEED (the company responsible for localizing the games) made the game that way, so that modding the dialogue and stuff would be difficult.
@@AdminProductions Yes I can understand that. It's really hard to find an alternative and it's most unlikely XSEED decides to do a translation in France, the community is really small.
Does this mod add CG or it only changes the sprites?
The CGs could not be added in the places that they normally appear, that would take modifying the game's code, which I am unable to do. The CGs do appear in the opening for Chapter 4. I thought it would be a nice gesture since I couldn't include the CGs any other way. As for the sprites, the walking sprites and Visual Novel busts were changed to what is present in the 3DS version, albeit in a better quality.
@soda So to be honest with you, looking at the code, it looks heavily encrypted. I have no way of editing it without corrupting the file. Editing the images and audio of the game took no coding work, it was just a matter of renaming/replacing files.

I don't know where to find them in big and in good quality, I've wanted to do something with my translations on my other channels ( like maybe buy the PS4 remake ( if it doesn't pop on Steam before ) and try as much to clean the " overlay " on the side when possible I don't know why it's taking up all this space but it's there ).

Is there a certain file that doesnt replace the sprites, i would only like the voice acting and the pictures if possible.
And by "sprites" i mean how they look when they walk and stuff.
@@anchovios3676 Hopefully you made a backup of the unmodded game. But to tell you, the files "chap1-5.bcx" are the ones that change the sprites. If you want to just have the default overworld sprites, make a backup of the Vanilla game, run the mod installer, and then get the chap1-5.bcx files from the Vanilla backup and move them over to the modded game.

Is there a way to have more HD/cleaner version of the portraits ? The one in your mod are kind of pixelated.
They had to be pixelated, otherwise the game wouldn't read them correctly. If the game couldn't read them correctly, then it wouldn't display anything.
@@AdminProductions It was just a question. Thanks lol I was hoping for a clean version of the portraits like the one already in the game but just with the psp or 3ds ones.
@@AdminProductions as for the sprites is it possible to get the 3ds sprites or that is also too difficult to display?
@@thedragon12 So, pretty much the sprites for the faces and also the overworld sprites had to fit within the limits that the PC version has. There's no way to upscale them without them being invisible, if I knew anyone that could reprogram the game's code then it would be possible to get everything to display in HD. But as of right now, the only people that know how to tinker with the code is XSEED themselves (the people responsible for putting Corpse Party on Steam and such).

If you mean by saving progress, around the maps there are candles which save your progress permanently.
